  • Judging Format and Terms & Conditions for the Alshaya Project 2014

    Judging Format:

    All initial entries to be submitted as Power Point presentations to the

    following email address [email protected] by 18th of

    October 2014 (phase 1)

    The Alshaya representatives will select a winning team from each institute

    and advise those teams by the 24th of November 2014. Each of those

    teams will then be required to present their selected project (phase 2) to a

    management committee on the final presentation date.

    The final presentations will take place between the 4th and 13th of January.

    The Alshaya Judging panel will select a winning team from the submitted

    entries and that team will be awarded an expense paid, 3 day, two nights

    trip, to visit with Alshaya in Dubai.

    The winning team will be announced w/c 13th of January 2015.

  • Terms & Conditions:

    Decisions made by Alshaya representatives and the judging panel will be final and

    cannot be appealed.

    The maximum team size that can prevail of the prize is four (4) people.

    The team can be made up of first year and second year students but any

    team can only contain a maximum of 2 second year students-i.e. no

    submissions from teams solely comprising of second year students will

    be accepted. All team members must have fully contributed to the

    project and be registered as being part of the project at the time of

    entry. No substitutes will be allowed.

    The trip will be organized for a date in agreement with the winning team

    but must be taken during the first quarter of 2015 (i.e. to commence

    before the 30th of March 2015).

    All winning team members must have valid passports, with at least 6

    months validity remaining, at the date of the trip.

    Alshaya will organize visit visas for members of the winning team but

    cannot offer alternatives or be held responsible for any refusal of visa

    issuance by local authorities.

    The agenda, flights, accommodation, etc. and all other arrangements

    will be made by Alshaya, subject to business travel rules, and will not be

    subject to change or extension at the request of members of the

    winning team. Flights will be return flights from the winning institute

    location only.

    Alshaya reserves the right to alter the venue for the winning team visit

    at any time due to business requirements or subject to local restrictions

    beyond their control.
