IMPORTANT R EMINDER TO ALL CAREGIVERS
Many of our clients have diabetes and monitor their blood sugar levels or take insulin. NEVER cap theneedle or lancet after it has been used. This is the primary cause of needle stick injuries! Take an oldrinsed out milk bottle or detergent bottle with a cap, clearly mark the bottle with a marker, FOR
NEEDLES ONLY, and have the client drop thelancet or needle in the bottle and replace the cover. Ifyou are assisting the client, then you may be the one
who drops the needle/lancet into the bottle.
If you have any questions, please call and I will comeout to assist you. Mary
