Kloster ZwickelRENDERS HOMAGE TO THE ENJOYMENT OF UNFILTERED BEERS FROM THE GOOD OLD DAYS.
Unfiltered and naturally cloudy from the brewery cel-lar straight into the bottle: Alpirsbacher Klosterbräu Zwickel renders homage to the enjoyment of unfiltered beers from the good old days. The fruity, spicy taste of wheat beer embraces the pure, full-bodied aroma of Al-pirsbacher Klosterbräu Spezial to become an exquisite drink experience.
Our Zwickel is brewed according to the original recipe of our master brewer out of 85% bottomfermented and 15% top-fermented cellar beer: a strong-character beer speciality with nutritious, natural ingredients.
History and other storiesHow the “top-fermenteds” made peace with the “bot-tom-fermenteds”: If the numerous visitors to our Alpirs-bacher Beer World had not so often asked for a fresh draught beer straight from the fermenting cellar, the fu-sion of two totally different beer types would never have been thought of. Our master brewers experimented for a long time behind closed doors on the recipe of how not to let the yeast to sink to the floor, but to keep it af-loat, not only in the tank but also in the bottle. With our naturally cloudy Kloster Zwickel beer the Alpirsbacher brewers have achieved an absolute masterpiece – thanksto a technical ingenuity especially developed by Alpirs-bacher Klosterbräu.
The sommelier’s attestPowerful, matt-gold colour with a fine cloudiness, crow-ned by a creamy, fine-pored foam. Malty, freshyeasty aroma in playful symbiosis with the scent of ripe stone fruit. The first sip is very soft then a full, smooth body develops. Finely integrated hop bitterness leads to a mild finish, well balanced with a distinctive maltiness.
