He died on the cross so when we do stuff wrong, we are forgiven. Thats amazing love. Tell stories around a campfire (or barbecue!)Get the family to sit around a Camp Fire (a grown up made) in the Garden or back yard, or if you cant do that, sit around a barbecue. Each think of some favourite or funny family stories and memories and take it in turns to tell them. While youre listening, stick some marshmallows on the end of a stick, chopstick or skewer and carefully hold them over the flame. Ther you go - some yummy toasted marshmallows. You could also pop your marshmallows between 2 biscuits - woohooo!

Here at Allstars Kids Magazine we know that having time as a family is sooooooo cool and really important. So here are some fun ideas you can try this Easter!

Make a cool Family Cookbook!This is really fun! Why not experiment as a family in the kitchen

by making

new foods. Try some old family recipes and make a few new creations.

Why not add some new ingredients, or some crazy things. When you finally

get that tasty dish, write it down so you can make it again. Begin to build a

Family Cookbook and you will be amazed how many delicious meals you can

cook in a short time. This is also something great as a present for

Grandparents, cousins, neighbours and the dentist (well maybe

not the dentist!)

Write a family song!Almost everyone likes music and a good song

- so why not create a special, one of

a kind family song together. The song could mention everyone in the family. Or is it

just about your parents or grandparents? Is there a rap in it? Is it like an opera singer?

When you have some lyrics, work together on a melody. Then record it on

your computer or a smart phone and play it back on the TV and show the world!

Next step - why not film and make a fun music video for it too!

Dave the donkey was so excited. Hed been watching all week for Grandpa donkey to get back from Jerusalem. Dave had some big news hed been waiting to share with him.

Grandpa! Grandpa! Guess what? I carried the king into Jerusalem.Youre joking, Dave.No, Grandpa. I carried the king!

I was standing out the front, minding my own business, when the kings servant untied me and led me to the king.

The king jumped right on my back.

We charged down the hill and up the mountain to Jerusalem.

The crowd waved palm branches and everyone cheered, Hooray for the king! Long live the king!

We said goodbye, and I headed home leaving the king to get on with the job of being king.

So, Grandpa, youve been in Jerusalem since then,tell me what happened next. Did the crowd keep cheering for the king?

Jesus is alive today. Hallelujah! You can read all about it in Luke chapter 24 in the BIble.

Well, Dave, the crowd were yelling for the king.Wow! said Dave, And Im sure all the leaders came to meet him.

Yes, sighed Grandpa, the king did meet all the leaders.

And, Grandpa, they would have placed a golden crown upon the kings head.

They certainly crowned the king, but it wasnt made ofgold.

The throne, Grandpa, they must have led the king into the palace, sat him on the throne and cheered, Long live the king!

No, Dave. sighed Grandpa, There was no throne.They led the king out of Jerusalem and they nailed him to a cross.

Dave was stunned.A cross? So . . . so the king . . . the king is dead?

No, Dave. The king was dead. The king was placed in a tomb and the tomb was sealed with a heavy stone.

But now, the king is alive! He was dead but the tomb is empty and the king is alive!

The king was dead, but now he is alive.Grandpa, asked Dave, did you ever carry someone special that you will never forget?

Yes, Dave, said Grandpa, as a matter of fact I did. It was long ago on a starry night like this...

HARD TIMESHave you ever had a really hard thing in your life, maybeyouve even tried praying but it didnt seem to make adifference? Heres Bella who learnt that she could prayanytime. But shes having a hard time at the moment. Her pet hamster has just died and she doesnt really feel like praying because she feels so sad.

Jesus is a good friend to have in hard times. Hes overcome all hard times, including dying and coming back to life! When Jesus was on earth he talked about heaven, a place where there was no pain and no crying. And he said that there is a place for everyone there, including you.

Jesus knows about sad times so hes really good to talk to about it. And whats more, he really cares about how youre feeling and is always listening. So telling him how we feel is a good place to start. No matter what, God is always listening and our prayer always makes a difference. Even if its tricky to spot.

Try this... Find a little stone that you can put in your pocket. Each time you find it you can remember that God knows about your sad situation and he is going to carry you through it, just like you have been carrying the stone.

True story... In the Bible there was a man called David who had a lot of sad and hard times

before he became a King. He always shared with God how he was feeling and this helped him remember that God was with him no matter

what. Thats pretty amazing :)

Jesus swapped loads of good things for all our rubbish. Why did he do it? What did he get out of it except for a pile of trash?

Romans 5:10 tells us what he got out of it he got us. Because he took away all of our junk, we can now be friends with God forever. As with any swap you have to agree that you want to accept it. That sounds like a pretty good deal to me! Look at the list of our stuff and Gods stuff that Jesus wants to swap. What things do you want Jesus to take away from your life?

Saltmine Theatre Companys production of Noah a Musical Adventure with Duggie Dug Dug playing the part of Noah sailed into seventeen packed theatres and wowed audiences across the UK in May and

June 2014. And now its all set to set off on tour again in May 2015. With fabulous songs by Doug Horley (Duggie Dug Dug) and Mark Read from band A1, the show also includes a great cast of actors and spectacular puppets including huge giraffes and elephants. Each show will also feature a childrens choir made up of around 25 children from local schools and churches.

All these people are good friends to have. But the best, best friend is Jesus. He is the only one who died for us. He always has time for us, is always ready to listen, protects us and is very, very wise.

We cant see Jesus, because He now lives in Heaven. But we can learn all about Him in the Bible. We can also talk to Him by praying, and His Holy Spirit is here to help us. 1. Place the butter in a large mixing bowl with the caster sugar. 2. Using a wooden spoon beat until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in the egg until well mixed, then gradually add the flour.

3. Use your hands to bring the mixture together to a stiff dough. Gather into a ball and chill for 30 minutes. (Its not that long to wait!)

4. Heat the oven to 180C, fan160C. (You might need help for this bit)5. Roll out the dough on a work surface lightly dusted with flour until its the thickness of a coin. Using an oval cutter (or any egg- shaped template), cut out egg-shaped biscuits. Dont forget to use rolled out trimmings to make more.

6. Place on baking trays and bake in the oven for 6-10 minutes, depending on size, until just golden brown.

7. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before removing from the baking tray to cool completely. (Almost there!)

Ingredients 200g butter,

at room temperature

200g caster sugar

400g plain flour1 egg

To decorate these awesome biscuits: make up the icing as directed on the packet. Divide between 3-4 bowls adding a little food colouring to each bowl. Place the mixture into piping bags and decorate biscuits -

you might like to use sprinkles or sweets too.
