Building structure is used as opposite to Fileset structure, because Building structure is used for IFC export. But the
File set structure can also be used and then copied to the Building structure before the export.

2. Multi-layerd wall, maximum number of layers is 5. So my wall should be adjusted

3. Once I have the concept, I start with Parameters, Attributes part. Setting the thickness. But it is unclear what units
are used for the thickness. Meters? Mm? Cm? It only becomes clear while specifying the parameters in the different
window for the layers, see step 4.
The previously created wall favourite is used.

4. Otherwise it is probably easier to use the Attributes button where the parameters for each layer can be set
The attributes can be assigned to the whole wall or to one layer. Only Lambda can be specified from the thermal-related
properties. U-value is not needed for the simulation.
NB for IFC: the units in these windows are different IFC takes the mm.

So the roof structure is also simplified

7. And then created in Allplan, saved as favourite DAl 01 b Holzsparren-Steildach
7a. Additional properties can be assigned to the Roof layers via Right mouse click on the object (roof) > Assign, Modify
object properties > window with properties

8. The height of the outside wall layer remains 4.2, all the others are changed to the 3.65 m
I Custom IFC parameters
9. Custom parameters can be created and assigned to the layers. Then they are exported to the IFC

The custom parameters however are not saved neither in the material nor in the favourites, so they should be specified
each time separately for all building elements.
II Export to IFC
Allplan 2014 exports 2x3 IFC and 2x3 IFCxmls
1. got the error
2. Changed the Building structure and picked it up at the export

3. Exported IFC and IFC xml for reviewing
4. If the wall layers have different heights, IFC is written with errors. Sketchup does not import anything but a slab.
(Imported to the Sketchup via IFCtoSU plugin)

4. The wall layers are all set to 3,65, this way Sketchup imports the walls and the slab. But not the roof, window anddoor.

5. Roof is only imported if it consists of one layer
Physical properties: 1. Only the properties of the outer layers of the complex structures are exported, Lambda values of
0.21 and 0.84, which correspond to the Dachziegel Ton and Gipskartonplate
IFCxml fragments with material properties

IfcMaterialLayerSet is not specified, presumably this is the reason why the layer properties are not exported properly
