Analysis and Planning

In 2010, Allianz and Accenture launched a joint team to analyze the current capabilities and cost efficiencies of Allianz' key business units’ network infrastructures, and to identify opportunities for future value creation.

From this, a comprehensive set of requirements formed the basis for a global unified communications blueprint and transformation roadmap. In conjunction with an overall business case assessment, the blueprint was confirmed for implementation.

Allianz Provider Selection

In January 2011 Allianz initiated a structured sourcing process to select a strategic integrator - the integrator would take sole responsibility of transforming and operating the new end-to-end Allianz Global Network (AGN) and Unified Communication infrastructure.

Accenture was selected by Allianz as this strategic integrator.

Transformation and Operations

Starting in January 2012, Accenture mobilized a global team – locations including Munich, Prague, Bratislava, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Manila – to drive the transformation of Allianz' infrastructure towards the target blueprint and take over the operations responsibility. The team delivered a successful roster of solutions and services, despite a tight time frame of only eight months:

•Transformation planning, architecture, design, building, testing, deployment, migrations, and operations.

•Set up of all Global Network Operations Centers, service catalog, business case support, and tools and process integration for the onboarding of more than 50 operating entities.

•Supplier consolidation and sourcing support.

• IP harmonization and IP address management.

•Agency network planning and migration support.

•A network service integrator to manage all relevant parties in the network value chain (carriers, telecommunications, hardware and software vendors, and field services).

•Telecom expense management and recharging.
