Fontbonne University Adds New Member to Board of Trustees
ST. LOUIS — Fontbonne University has named long-time local banker Allen Grieve to its
Board of Trustees.
Grieve has been in the banking industry for 45 years and has been senior vice president and
division manager of correspondent banking and commercial services division of the First
National Bank of St. Louis since 2002. He has also served in administrative or executive
positions at several other banking institutions throughout his career.
“I’m really excited about joining the Fontbonne University Board of Trustees for a variety of
reasons,” Grieve said. “This is another opportunity for me to help the Sisters of St. Joseph of
Carondelet continue their mission at a very important institution. I’ve always thought highly of
Fontbonne, and I’m thrilled with this wonderful opportunity to serve.”
In the 1970s, Grieve established the Boatmen’s National Bank of St. Louis Cash Management
Department. Additional career highlights include being named the 1981 Treasury Management
Institute Cash Management Man of the Year, co-founder of the Regional Bank Corporate
Services Group and founding member of the Bank Administration Institute Corporate Services
Quality Forum. He served as chairman from 1986 to 1993.
Grieve previously served as a board member at The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, St. Louis
Area American Diabetes Association and Southern Financial Exchange. He holds a bachelor’s
degree from Washington University in St. Louis, MBAs from Saint Louis University and the
Stonier Graduate Degree in Banking from the American Bankers Association. Grieve also served
with the United States Army and the Missouri Army National Guard.
Currently, Grieve is involved with the Nazareth Living Center and the Sisters of St. Joseph of
Carondelet — a connection that brought him to Fontbonne.
Fontbonne University is a Catholic coeducational institution of higher education offering liberal
arts and professional programs, as well as evening and online formats for busy adults. Fontbonne
