Member Concerns
RF Smith updated member concerns.
Ron Pitt is at home and doing well. He has an X-ray planned for March 8th and is looking forward to being back with us as soon as he can.
Rich Rima told us Donna had her right hip replaced on Monday morning at Evans Army Hospital by Air Force doctors. He said it could not have gone better with no signs of infection. She has some pain, but is getting around well with a walker.
Ed Krekorian is doing well, but Patricia has had some setbacks. Please keep Patricia in your prayers.
Remembering the 50th anniversary of the return of Francis Gary Powers from the Soviet Union and with the current day filled with tension and uncertainty, RF asked that we work within our power to create well-being and helping us to alleviate the greed and envy that sustains that tension. RF thanked God for this tranquil day and the peace in its fires. Give us the strength this day and always to give of ourselves in unselfish service. Inspire us with your grace so that we may continue to grow in character. Bring relief to your servants that are in pain healing them of their worldly suffering. After this meeting send us to reach out to those in need with generosity and kindness.
Pete Peterson led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Thanks to Pat Losey

Steve Steffey reminded us the Tri-Lakes Women's Club will host the annual Pine Forest Spring Show & Sale on April 7 & 8, 2018 to raise money for the community. As in past years, we help by setting up electrical equipment for the show on Friday the 6th, with breakdown on the 8th. Steve passed around a sign-up sheet.
Barb Broshous had several items:
- We have a small change in our meeting procedure in that we now need to setup and breakdown the tables and chairs for every meeting. Help from everyone is appreciated!
- We have a St. Patrick's Day mixer scheduled for Friday, March 23 at the Woodmoor Barn. The sign-up list was distributed. Save the date!
- Barb is still looking for someone to fill the position of VP of Public Relations. Please see her if you are interested.
- Barb said she has been going to all the schools to attend the Service Leadership Program meetings. She said she is very, very impressed with our kids in the school system. They stand up and run the meetings without assistance. Contact Max Williams if you would like to see some meetings and meet some of these great kids.
For the next few weeks, Bonnie Nasser is going to going to set up a little corner with a back drop and some special lighting to take character portraits in black and white. Bonnie suggests that it's always interesting if you want to bring a special hat (not a baseball hat).

Paul Short had a happy buck and a Snicker bar for Bob Gountanis. Paul said Bob was struggling to put together a jigsaw puzzle shaped like a rooster. Paul suggested that Bob just put the corn flakes back in the box...
There are two free, easy ways to donate money to the MHKC - without paying a nickel out of your own pocket. One is by getting a gift card (available from Mike Wangeman that comes with $5 credit) for Safeway or Kings Soopers. You can then indefinitely add money to the card. Also, at Amazon.com Smile, you can designate Monument Hill Service Club as your charity organization and purchase items through Smile. Then Amazon donates .5% of all your purchases to our club. Shop at: https://smile.amazon.com/ch/84-6113536 and Amazon donates to Monument Hill Service Club.

16 is the only number that can be written as ab = ba when a and b are not equal. 16 and its next smaller square, 9, form a square when added or multiplied: 16+9=25, 16x9=144 16 is the smallest number which is the sum of two distinct primes in two ways, 16 = 3 + 13 = 5 + 11
Jim's final thought: As I age, I consider "On Trend" to be the clothes that still fit.
Frank Wynne provided humor.
Irish Confession. I went into the confessional box after years of being away from the Church. Inside I found a fully equipped bar with Guinness on tap. There was a row of decanters with fine Irish whiskey and Waterford crystal. On the other wall was a dazzling array of the finest cigars and chocolates.
When the priest came in, I said "Father, forgive me, for it's been a very long time since I've been to confession, but I must first admit that the confessional box is much more inviting than it used to be."
He looked at me and said: "You moron, you're on my side."
