The Sacrament of Reconciliation: Confessions are heard each week on Saturday at the Church (SR #46) from 3:45pm to 4:45pm Learn more about this beautiful sacrament by visiting our website: www.allsoulssanford.org/reconciliation The Sacrament of Baptism: Call the parish office to learn the necessary requirements and make an appointment with Father David Vivero to have your child baptized. Ask us about the requirements for Godparents. The Sacrament of Marriage: Getting married? Congratulations! The process of being married in the Catholic Church could take between 6 months to a year to complete. Please contact Ann Cammarata at the parish office as soon as possible after your engagement if you would like to be married at All Souls Catholic Church. Anointing of the Sick: Please call the parish office. The Rite of Anointing tells us there is no need to wait until a person is at the point of death to receive the Sacrament. Did you know that the Sacrament may be repeated if the person becomes sick again? A person should be anointed before surgery when a dangerous illness is the reason for the intervention. Eucharistic Ministry to the Sick and Homebound: If you are unable to attend Mass, please call the parish office so we may assist you in having a visit from one of our ministers or one of our priests. Catholic Funeral and Burial: Please call the parish office or have the funeral home director contact us to arrange the Funeral Mass and for more information about burial at All Souls Catholic Cemetery.

Calling all Veterans & Active Military Personnel!

Family Chapel Nights have become a very significant component in our Family Faith Formation Program. Once a month, children in the program along with their families come meet at the Historic Chapel to celebrate in one of our many beautiful faith traditions, experiences, or prayers. As October is the month of the Rosary, families who attend program on Tuesdays and Wednesdays came together on their respective nights to pray the Rosary. What a very powerful event it was on both nights! We ALL raised our voices in prayer to Mother Mary. Thank you to everyone who joined us in prayer. What an inspiration! A very special thank you to our second grade catechists Kelly Lane and Kim McGovern along with Robert and Blanca Smith as well as Mr. Gary Hays for guiding the second, third and fifth graders as our prayer

leaders. You all did a beautiful job. Here are just a few of the pictures from our prayer experiences.

First Reconciliation (children’s workbooks) are due the week of November 5th, 2018. Spirit Day is coming up on Saturday, November 10th, beginning at 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Workbooks may be dropped off at the parish office 301 W. Oak St. 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. A workbook collection box will also be available after Masses the weekend of November 3rd and 4th at the new church on 46. For those families that would like their children to celebrate the sacrament of First Reconciliation on Monday, November 12, 2018 workbooks are needed by the due date. Workbooks collected after Friday, November 9th may risk a slight delay in the sacrament.

First Reconciliation/Penance Service will take place at the ’new’ church (SR 46) on Monday, November 12, 2018. Families are asked to arrive no later than 6:45pm. Please pray for those children and their families who will be celebrating this sacrament for the very first time. Thank you. Revised Faith Formation Calendars (blue sheet) were distributed during classes this week. Please make sure family has the most current calendar. There will be NO Classes next week, October 30th/31st or November 6th/7th, 2018. Families please remember to attend Mass on Thursday, November 1st, for All Saints Day –it’s a holy day of obligation. Classes will resume on November 13th/14th with families attending Family Chapel Night. Looking forward to seeing our many families at the Harvest Festival! May God Bless YOU!!!

Reflect & Respond to Scripture

First Reading: Around 600 B.C., the prophet Jeremiah foreshowed the Lord's deliverance of Israel's exile in Babylon. What do you think Jeremiah is teaching us about God's mercy and providence? Second Reading: Hebrews speaks of Jesus as the eternal high priest who intercedes to God on our behalf. What would be your intercessory prayer to Jesus today? Gospel Reading: Jesus attributes his healing of the blind man, Bartimaeus, to the depth of the man's faith. Who are the people in your life with strong faith?
