Fun for Families
Interactive Storytelling with Pyn Stockman
Join professional storyteller Pyn Stockman for some family friendly, interactive storytelling adventures this half term. Journey through a rich mix
of myths and folk tales full of marvellous monsters, wicked
witches, tricky tricksters, heroic heroes and heroines and the occasional sandwich. These stories are full of opportunities to join in - with props, puppets, masks and wonderful words.
Giants and Heroes, Dragons and Heroines with Catriona Heatherington
Expect suspense, excitement and high drama in this interactive session. Stretch tall like a giant, spin like a genie, roar like a dragon and think
up similes to describe them - as high as, as loud as, as angry as, as slippery
as - in tales from around the world. Then stand as brave as a hero or heroine in front of these creatures, not running away but looking them straight in the eye until they are defeated!
Kate’s Storytree with Kate ColmanThe Storytree is a magical place where stories are told and tales are shared. Join us under the branches for a stellar storytime where you become the storyteller. Using a variety of props, Kate and her Storytree will weave a special tale using your ideas and all you need to bring is your imagination. The session is a time and space where children are invited to play and create the stories that are important to them. There will be art and craft materials on hand and the children will have the opportunity to make their own book in which to collect their story ideas.
Fun with Elmer!Under 5s can enjoy special themed sessions of Rhyme Time or Story Stomp to celebrate David McKee’s famous patchwork elephant to coincide with Elmer Day (27th May). Ask for times at your local library.
