Love My Parent Luncheon

On February 10 we held the “Love My Parent” Luncheon. Over 170 people enjoyed the fun, great food

and the memorable game show. Parents and teens competed for the best score. Preparation for the event began when our youth studied God’s rules of love: the 10 commandments, followed by a fun lesson on the 4th commandment: “Honor your Father and Mother.” The Youth had to pretend they were parents that required them to make rules for their children. Everyone enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon!

Our heartfelt thank you to our chefs, David Clements, Amy Pickett, and John Zacker; decorators, Tina, and Nikko Peluso Kathleen Urabetis and Michelle Guido. Our game show host, Brody Peacock, and announcer Jake Richardson.

Faith Formation, grades K-5 - Mary Krasuski

Learning and Creating Our classes have been learning about the Mass, the Church, the Ten Commandments, and the Beatitudes through a variety of hands on activities. Our catechists have found many creative ways to help the children learn about these important topics. Below you will find some of their creative talents!

Come and Pray the Rosary Every second and fourth Friday of the month, a group

of parishioners gather to pray the rosary in devotion to Our Lady Queen of Peace in the Father Scerbo Center at 3:00pm. Come and join us for this intimate gathering as we look to our Blessed Mother for her intercession. The next

gathering will be on Friday, March 1. Please plan to join us! If you have any questions, please contact the parish office by calling: (518) 664-3354.

Soothing Winter Skin

Dry air does a number on hands, feet and lips and that cold air is to blame. Chilly temperatures lower the levels of protein in the skin that keeps it moist, intact and healthy. Try to winterize your skin routine. Treat your feet! When your heel becomes dry and thick, it can crack. To soften it, apply a lotion that contains alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), which act as a chemical exfoliant to accelerate dead-skin removal. Eucerin Advanced Re-

pair lotion has AHAs and other healing ingredients that soften cracked feet, Aquaphor, CeraVe, Aveeno and Cetaphil to name a few good products. Show your lips some love! Use a petroleum jelly-based product to lock in moisture or shea butter lip balm with SPF 15 or higher. Cover your

face with SPF 30 or higher to protect against sunburn. Give your hands extra love! Use moisturizing lotions and gloves to protect your hands from wind and weath-er. Skip scents! Fragrance can irritate skin, so opt for scent-free bath and body products in the winter months. Avoid using hot water and harsh soaps. Resist the itch! Scratching dry skin encourages infection.

Musician’s Corner A reminder to our choir members about our upcoming rehearsals! The Adult Choir will next meet on Thursday, February 28 at 7:00pm at St. Paul’s Church. The Chil-dren Choir will meet to rehearse this morning, Feb-ruary 24, at St. Paul’s at 10:00am. We will also be singing for the 10:30am Mass on Sunday, March 10. If any parishioners are interested in joining the choir, what better opportunity than as we prepare for Lent and Easter! Please contact Tony or see him after one of the weekend Masses for more information.

Gospel Reflections Today's gospel reading is a continuation of the teaching that began in last Sunday's gospel. We

continue to hear Jesus' Sermon on the Plain. These words from Jesus' teaching are familiar to us. They constitute the crux and the challenge of what it means to be a disciple: Love your enemies, turn the other cheek, give to those who ask,

do unto others, lend without expecting repayment, judge not lest you be judged. Jesus' words challenge those who would follow him to be more like God. God loves us beyond our expectations, beyond anything we can possibly imagine. In response to God's love, we are to love as God loves, beyond expectations and with a depth beyond imagining.
