We welcome into our parish community Patrick Hancock who will be baptised today. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Katy Jones who has died. Her body will be received into Our Lady & St Patrick’s Church at 4.30 pm on Wednesday 18th October and her Funeral Mass will take place at 9.30 am on Thursday 19 October.

We have completed The Royal Parks Half Marathon! A big thank you to everyone who has sponsored and supported me in the fundraising such as the quiz, for the event. Debbie and I ran it together on 8 October and have managed to raise over £850 for the Catholic Children’s Society. So a big thank you and if we could have any outstanding sponsorship money in by the end of the month, that would be great. Marcia Disappointed? Didn’t get a place in the London Marathon? Why not run the Rome Marathon instead in aid of the Catholic Children’s Society (Plymouth)? Details from Claire [email protected] or www.ccsplymouth.org.uk

CAFOD Harvest Day

Friday 6 October 2017 Thank you for your generous support of CAFOD’s Harvest Fast Day. It’s not too late to hand in your envelope. (Don’t forget to Gift Aid if you can. That extra 25% makes a big difference.) Apologies to Dawlish parishioners whose envelopes have only just been provided. Chris

Please join in this special day that unites Catholics all over the world in prayer, celebration and care for the mission of the Church. It is in this connection that Fr David Sanders is making his appeal on behalf of the Dominicans.

If you have any rosaries, prayer cards or religious medals that you no longer require, the AoS would be grateful for them, for seafarers. Please leave at the back of church or give to Wendy.

Hassock Project Update As we are so very near the completion of the main Hassock Tapestry project we urgently need to update our record of ALL kits that have been issued to enable us to know what and how much more materials we need to order. Each kit costs us both time and money to prepare and we cannot afford to ‘lose’ any. With all those outstanding kits returned we would be able to place a completed hassock on every chair currently being used in our church. Please let me know the current situation regarding your hassock tapestries and if for any reason you find that you are no longer able to complete the kit it doesn’t matter BUT please return it so that somebody else can complete it. Couples for Christ Couples for Christ (CFC) is a Catholic movement intended for the renewal and strengthening of Christian family life. CFC began in 1981 in Manila, Philippines, when Ang Ligaya ng Panginoon (Joy in the Lord), a Christian charismatic community, realised that to effectively renew society, a conversion of families was necessary. The growth of CFC to an international organisation has stemmed from its heart for mission and evangelization and its commitment to sharing God’s love with others, beginning from the basic unit – the family. In 2000, CFC was recognized by the Vatican as an International Association of the Faithful and a member of the Family Council. The South West CFC are currently running a Christian Life Programme for couples, families and singles on 3 consecutive Saturdays in St Agatha’s Church hall, Dawlish Sat 7 Oct; Sat 14 Oct; Sat 21 Oct. 8am – 4pm. Breakfast and lunch provided ALL ARE WELCOME. For more information please contact Bro
