Help a Neighbor in Need This Holiday Season
HM Cares Ministry (formerly Ministry of Assistance) is part of Holy Martyrs Church inMedina, Ohio. The ministry provides year-around assistanceto those in need through (1) financial rent / utility assistance, (2) an on-site food pantry and (3) seasonal / holiday support like the annual TurkeyRun and Give-A-Gift programs. If you are interested in assisting the HM Cares Ministry, know someone in need, or wish to financially contribute, please visit holymartyrs.net or email [email protected].
This year has brought unprecedented need within our parish community and throughout Medina County. Providingsupport to the poor is a foundational tenet of our Catholic faith and is central to the mission of Holy Martyrs Church. In thisspirit, we ask that you consider supporting the Holy Martyrs Cares (or HM Cares) Ministry this holiday season by sharingyour time, talent and/or treasure for those in need.
Assist the Annual Turkey Run Food Drive; Benefits St. Augustine’s Hunger Center
Sponsor a Child ThroughHoly Martyrs’ Give-A-Gift Program
Goal: Provide 300 donated meals to Saint Augustine’s Parish and Hunger Center.
Background: Each year, Holy Martyrs coordinates a Turkey Run food drive to help Saint Augustine Parish and Hunger
Center in its annual ministry to provide Thanksgiving meals for those who otherwise would not be able to have a traditional
Thanksgiving dinner. An estimated 20,000 people are fed on Thanksgiving Day at Saint Augustine’s and a network of 33
other homeless shelters, hunger centers and churches across Northeast Ohio.
Four Ways To Help:
1. Drop off a non-perishable ‘dinner kit’ or ‘dessert kit’ Sunday Nov 8, 15, or 22 from 9am to noon.
2. Drop off a frozen turkey on Sunday, November 22 from 9am to noon.
3. Financially ‘buy a meal’ via a Faith Direct online donation.
4. Participate in the caravan of vehicles that delivers donated goods and funds to Saint Augustine’s Church on Sunday,
November 22. Caravan leaves at 1pm.
For Complete Details & To Sign Up: Look for a Holy Martyrs’ email or visit holymartyrs.net to learn more and indicate how
you will help. Questions can be emailed to [email protected].
Goal: Provide gifts for 100 local children.
Background: Last year, HM Cares provided toys, clothing, games, puzzles and more to help make the holiday season a littlebrighter for local area children. Unwrapped gifts will be collected at Holy Martyrs Church starting November 22 and acaravan will deliver to Medina County Salvation Army in mid-December.
ThreeWays To Help:
1. Look for an email to sponsor a child or children. In mid-November, you will receive gift ideas specifically for your child.
2. Donate money toward a gift via Faith Direct.
3. Help organize the collection and delivery of gifts.
For Complete Details & To Sign Up: Look for a Holy Martyrs’ email or visit holymartyrs.net to learn more and indicate how

GOSPEL
When you are merciful, you are kind and
forgiving. Your actions teach others how
to love God and each other. You visit the
sick. You comfort those who are crying.
You pray for those who are in jail. You
share money, food, water, shelter, and
clothing with those who need it. You
forgive the people who hurt you. When
you are kind and forgiving to other
people, they will also be kind and forgiving
to you.
PRAYER
Lord, I want to be kind and forgiving.
DRAW Draw yourself wiping the tears from the face of your brother, sister, or friend.
COLOR
Read the Gospel of the week and color the image.

Thank you for your continued support
of our parish family.
Launched by Pope Francis, MISSIO
connects you with communities around
the world and helps you make a direct
and lasting impact on the lives of others.
Bringing the Gospel to those in need
of God’s Love
Pope Francis invites the
entire Church to support
evangelization in mission
dioceses in Africa, Asia,
the Pacific Islands, and
parts of Latin America and
Europe where priests,
religious and lay leaders
serve the world’s most vulnerable communities. To
Latin America, where catechists travel to remote areas
to bring the Good News of God’s great love to
families – you can send yourself in mission… To
catechists in one of the largest slums in Kenya, who
visit the sick, pray with the dying and teach children
the mercy and hope of the Savior – you can send
yourself in mission. To those in Kazakhstan who have
been unable to practice their faith and need the
sacraments and Church outreach – you can send
yourself in mission. To those new to the faith in
Mongolia – you can send yourself in mission. You can
help bring the love of the Gospel to those most
forgotten around the world. Pope Francis reminds us
to answer God’s missionary call with, “Here I Am,
Send Me.” In the midst of our struggles, we find hope
in the message of Jesus’ Resurrection. Will you
support local priests, Sisters and lay catechists who
help the poor of the Missions experience that same
hope and joy! Your gifts and your prayers this Mission
Month will be a blessing to families who benefit from
this loving outreach in mission countries.

projects, please go to

Consider a Gift of Stock to
Support the Ministries of Holy Martyrs
In gratitude for all that God has given us, we, as
Christians, are called to give back to our community and
our church. In addition to the Sunday offertory, one way
of giving back might be transferring appreciated stock
to help Holy Martyrs continue its mission to lead people
to encounter Christ, grow in faith, and make disciples.
By transferring stock directly to our parish, you may be
able to avoid capital gains taxes.
For more information about what you need to do to
make such a gift, please contact
Therese McDonnell at 330-722-6633 or
