Dear Friends, Warm Greetings The Theme for this year's All India CA Conference at Bhubaneswar is CAs-Catalysing India's Growth. As all of us are aware, India's Economy is on the recovery mode and the Macro Indicators are suggesting the fact that India is bubbling with activities and gathering momentum to be one of the most shining Economies of the World. Thanks to the initiatives taken by the Govt. of India like “Make in India” and “Swachha Bharat” which are catching the imagination of the Indian Diaspora working everywhere in the World. Starting from enacting new laws like the Black Money Act to attracting entrepreneurs from all over the World to invest in India and take advantage of the demographic dividend of the country, the Govt. is leaving no stone unturned to put the Country's Economy on a growth trajectory. We, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the CA fraternity being the leading players in the field of finance and economics are taking a proactive role in materializing this dream of India to boost up the economy of the Country as a True Partner in Nation Building. As a proud stake holder in the India's growth process, we are taking all such critical initiatives to energise ourselves and play the all-important role of true conscience keeper by way of providing value added services in Finance, Accounts, Compliance with regulatory requirement and helping in creating a more cohesive atmosphere for better growth prospects. In the scenario, there could not have been a better theme than “CAs – Catalysing India's Growth” which underlines our role in Nation Building. Friends, Bhubaneswar Branch has earned the reputation as one of the most vibrant branches of the Institute for the grand way for arranging and organizing all India events. Since 2004, our branch is organizing such All India Conference and year on year, the bench mark is improving both in terms of quality of inputs as well as the grandeur of the programmes. Truly it has assumed the role of “Mahakumbha of Chartered Accountants” in this part of the country. This year is no exception and we are taking all possible steps to make it better and brighter. Our profession is at a cross road because of the never before situation of the enormous challenges and the incidental opportunities as well. The challenges are being created by the waves of changes in the field of technology, legal and regulatory requirements and evolution of accounting activities by way of graduation to IFRS and also the consequential opportunities that are coming our way. In the situation, it is imperative on our part to take all such steps that are required to keep our members abreast of all latest developments. Considering that, we have taken up all important professional issues like IND-AS, reporting requirements under changed legal and regulatory regime, challenges and opportunities thrown up by the Companies, Act, 2013, current issues in Direct Taxes and change in basic structure of taxation like GST, for detailed deliberation by the best of the professionals and experts of the country. We are sure, members will take advantage of the deliberations and prepare themselves to face the ever increasing challenges to our profession. Friends, let us join hands to celebrate the event of the year and enrich ourselves with better preparedness. I sign off with the immortal Motto of our Institute “Ya esa suptesu jagrati”, let us celebrate our “Role of being the person who is awake in those that sleeps” and be a true catalyst in the growth process of our Nation. Dear Friends,

Warm Greetings

The Theme for this year's All India CA Conference at Bhubaneswar is CAs-Catalysing India's Growth. As all of

us are aware, India's Economy is on the recovery mode and the Macro Indicators are suggesting the fact that India is

bubbling with activities and gathering momentum to be one of the most shining Economies of the World. Thanks to

the initiatives taken by the Govt. of India like “Make in India” and “Swachha Bharat” which are catching the

imagination of the Indian Diaspora working everywhere in the World. Starting from enacting new laws like the Black

Money Act to attracting entrepreneurs from all over the World to invest in India and take advantage of the

demographic dividend of the country, the Govt. is leaving no stone unturned to put the Country's Economy on a

growth trajectory. We, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the CA fraternity being the leading

players in the field of finance and economics are taking a proactive role in materializing this dream of India to boost

up the economy of the Country as a True Partner in Nation Building. As a proud stake holder in the India's growth

process, we are taking all such critical initiatives to energise ourselves and play the all-important role of true

conscience keeper by way of providing value added services in Finance, Accounts, Compliance with regulatory

requirement and helping in creating a more cohesive atmosphere for better growth prospects. In the scenario, there

could not have been a better theme than “CAs – Catalysing India's Growth” which underlines our role in Nation

Building.

Friends, Bhubaneswar Branch has earned the reputation as one of the most vibrant branches of the

Institute for the grand way for arranging and organizing all India events. Since 2004, our branch is organizing such All

India Conference and year on year, the bench mark is improving both in terms of quality of inputs as well as the

grandeur of the programmes. Truly it has assumed the role of “Mahakumbha of Chartered Accountants” in this

part of the country. This year is no exception and we are taking all possible steps to make it better and brighter.

Our profession is at a cross road because of the never before situation of the enormous challenges and the

incidental opportunities as well. The challenges are being created by the waves of changes in the field of

technology, legal and regulatory requirements and evolution of accounting activities by way of graduation to IFRS

and also the consequential opportunities that are coming our way. In the situation, it is imperative on our part to

take all such steps that are required to keep our members abreast of all latest developments. Considering that, we

have taken up all important professional issues like IND-AS, reporting requirements under changed legal and

regulatory regime, challenges and opportunities thrown up by the Companies, Act, 2013, current issues in Direct

Taxes and change in basic structure of taxation like GST, for detailed deliberation by the best of the professionals

and experts of the country. We are sure, members will take advantage of the deliberations and prepare themselves

to face the ever increasing challenges to our profession.

Friends, let us join hands to celebrate the event of the year and enrich ourselves with better preparedness.

I sign off with the immortal Motto of our Institute “Ya esa suptesu jagrati”, let us celebrate our “Role of being the

person who is awake in those that sleeps” and be a true catalyst in the growth process of our Nation.

With thanks and regards,

ChairmanBhubaneswar Branch
