Hindustan Cargo Ltd.     Allcargo acquired IATA accredited Hindustan Cargo Ltd, an airfreight company from Thomas Cook to develop synergies and add value to ECU Air operations. It has a network in 12 locations in India covering metros and Class A cities. The CHA-certified firm holds MTD and Break bulk License and can efficiently handle air freight and project cargo.

In 1993 Allcargo took its first steps into the freight forwarding business as a private limited company. Mr. SHASHI KIRAN SHETTYChairman & Managing Director

Mr. Shashi Kiran Shetty, the promoter of the Company, holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree. He started his career in the logistics industry in 1978 with Intermodal Transport and Trading Systems Private Limited, Mumbai from where he moved to Forbes Gokak, a

TATA Group Company.

In 1982 he set up TransIndia Freight Services to cater to liner shipping services. The company obtained its Private Limited status in 1995 and was appointed as general agent in India for ASIA Lines Ltd., a Mauritius based NVOCC. Mr. Shetty joined hands with ECU

Line N.V. in 1995 and set up the CFS division in 2003.

He has served as ex-trustee of Mumbai Port Trust and as the Vice-Chairman of the Association of Multimodal Transport Operators of India (AMTOI). Mr. Shetty has been appointed as the Chairman & Managing Director since the inception of the Company.

MRS. ARATHI SHETTYExecutive Director

Mrs. Arathi Shetty, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and is associated with the group since 1988. She has a vast experience of over nineteen years in the business and has an understanding of the intricacies of logistics business. Mrs. Shetty handles customer relations and related issues which are of paramount importance in the service industry. She actively participates and contributes to various policy decisions at Board Meetings of the Company and other forums.

Mr. ADARSH HEGDEExecutive Director

Mr. Adarsh Hegde, holds a Mechanical Engineering degree. Post graduation, he started his carrier as Assistant Maintenance Engineer with Eastern Ceramics Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Hegde joined Allcargo in 1987-88 and since then has won many admirers both within and outside the organization. His business acumen, clarity in thinking, methodical working and modern management expertise makes him an ideal business leader.

Mr. KAIWAN KALYANIWALLANon-Executive Independent Director

Mr. Kaiwan Kalyaniwalla, is a Solicitor and Advocate of the Bombay High Court and a Partner of the law firm of Maneksha & Sethna in Mumbai for over 20 years. Mr. Kalyaniwalla is enrolled as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. He is on the board of various Indian and foreign companies and advises private sector companies, multinational banks, transport and logistics companies and some of India’s largest property development companies and business houses. His practice is predominantly in the field of corporate laws, property laws, tax laws and general commercial laws. Mr. Kalyaniwalla has been an active member of the Managing Committee of the Bombay Incorporated Law Society.

Mr. KEKI ELAVIANon-Executive Independent Director

Mr. Keki Elavia, is a Chartered Accountant by profession with 36 years of post qualification experience with M/s. Kalyaniwalla & Mistry, a Chartered Accountancy firm. He joined the firm as an employee in 1971 and became a partner in 1974. He retired from the firm from April 1, 2009. Mr. Elavia has expertise in accounting, audit, finance and taxation matters.

Mr. SATISH GUPTANon-Executive Independent Director

Mr. Satish Gupta, is a Science Graduate and is a partner in M/s. Agra Engineering Company. He joined the business when Agra Engineering was a player in the domestic market. With the joint efforts of the partners, Mr. Gupta was instrumental in taking the business from the domestic market to international market by making it a hundred percent export oriented firm. His firm is currently one of the leading exporters of engine parts. Mr. Gupta has overall 31 years of rich experience in Engineering.

Mr. RAJIV SAHNEYNon-Executive Independent Director

Mr. Rajiv Sahney, is the founder and Managing Partner of N V Advisory Services, a firm providing financial advisory services and investing advice to New Vernon Capital among others. He is also Chairman of the Board and founder of Medusind Solutions, a business process outsourcing company serving the US healthcare market. Prior to Medusind, he was the Managing Director of Antfactory (India), which invested in various early stage companies. Before that he was the CEO of the Sahney Group of Companies, a Rs.1 billion family-owned group which manufactures electrical engineering components and is also involved in real estate and investing. He started his career as a Consultant with Bain & Company, after completing his MBA from IMEDE, Switzerland and BS (Physics) from California Institute of Technology, USA.

Mr. Sahney is a member of the Young Presidents Organization, Bombay Chapter since 1999. He is currently the South-Asia Regional Chairman since June 2008.

MR. AKHILESH GUPTANon-Executive Director

Mr. Akhilesh Gupta is a Senior Managing Director of The Blackstone Group and Chairman of Blackstone India based in Mumbai. 

Mr.Gupta has been sourcing and managing private equity transactions in India, and has made eight investments/commitments in India. In addition, he provides support for Blackstone’s other businesses, including real estate and corporate advisory services. 

Before joining Blackstone, Mr.Gupta served as CEO-Corporate Development for Reliance Industries Limited and Reliance Infocomm Limited.

Mr. Gupta began his career at Hindustan Lever. From 1981 to 1992 he worked in the U.S, first in consulting with Strategic Planning Associates and ICF in Washington D.C., then as Senior Vice  President and Chief Financial Officer of Krauses Sofa (an integrated retailer and manufacturer of furniture), and after that as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Stylus Inc. (another integrated retailer and manufacturer of furniture). 

Mr. Gupta received his B. Tech degree in Chemical Engineering with distinction from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, in 1973 and an MBA degree from the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, in 1981.

“Web-tools” a part of our ERP package, provides detailed information about your cargo right from carting at origin to arrival at destination for export and from loading at origin to arrival at destinations for import cargo which can accessed through our website. It also enables customers to electronically transmit their B/L drafts, approve first prints, allow computerized B/L printing and even permit customers to release digitally signed Bs/L at their own premises. 3}Multi-City Consolidation (Exports & Imports)Multi City Consolidation (MCC) is another service pioneered by Allcargo for your convenience. With this service, we can transport your cargo to the nearest bonded ICD/CFS for onward connections to the gateway ports and vice versa. Even from the remotest hinterland areas we are able to reach you to collect your cargo from your doorstep to the nearest ICD where we aggregate LCL cargo. This is possible due to our large client base throughout the country and our vast network of offices, associates and franchisees. As one of the largest NVOCC operators, we aim to provide comprehensive multimodal transport solutions, under a single ‘Allcargo’ umbrella. CFS/ICD operations are an integral part of our logistics services. The high LCL volumes handled by Allcargo along with our Multi-City Consolidation services necessitate custom-bonded CFS/ICD facilities for smooth flow of cargo. 

Envisaging the need for more port related infrastructure Allcargo has invested in its own CFS/ICDs with world-class facilities, we are one of the largest operators in the country with three CFSs operational in – Mumbai, Chennai & Mundra and one ICD facility in Indore.

We began CFS services in Mumbai in April 2003, while our CFSs in Chennai and Mundra began operations in April 2007. We cater to the hinterland of the northern region through ICD Kheda, Pithampur in Madhya Pradesh which as been operational since March, 2009.

We have a proven track record of high service deliverables and our service standards can be benchmarked against international facilities. Our CFS/ICDs have been rated as premium infrastructure facilities by our customers for their service deliverables and safety / security norms. Cargo pilferage is a major concern at cargo handling and warehousing facilities in India. Our facilities are known for high safety and security standards and are “Pilferage Free”.

As part of our value plus solutions we offer container lashing choking and palletizing services to secure cargo and prevent damage during transit. We use chord straps, nylon straps, ratchet & belts that help choking the movement of the cargo in the container to prevent any damage to that cargo while in transit.

Reefer plugging and monitoring

Inland Transportation | Vehicle Fabrication:      

While handling project cargo on road, transportation takes on a completely different dimension. This may include civil work construction and repair, obtaining clearance from civic bodies and traffic arrangements. All these have to be anticipated well ahead of the project and made to match the schedules. At times we also fabricate and modify trailers by increasing the lengths of trailer beds, roofs, etc so that the cargo can be transported safely and with no stress. We have our own fleet of axles and pullers to handle project and Odd dimensional cargo.

Load distribution study undertaken to negate accidents and mishaps     

We undertake various studies to ensure the safety of cargo while it is in our hands. We do this through CAD-CAM generated models and graphical studies that enable us to know on road conditions and the stress factor involved.

Feasibility Study, Route Survey:    

The complex nature of each project cargo shipment entails considerable planning and feasibility studies, route and carrier selection, dry runs, mapping, clearances, etc. This is necessary to estimate the time and costs involved in the shipment. We take care to interact with the clients to ensure optimised routings, right selection of mode of transport, etc. At this stage the client’s business needs are analyzed, information about the project is collected, and the requirements for the system are gathered and analyzed. After careful study, the best solution is offered. During the Feasibility Study stage, the project’s goals, parameters and restraints are foreseen to avoid any technical snags while in transit.

Variables like project budget, time frame, risks and benefits are identified and roughly planned and an action plan is devised.

Jetty Design & Engineering | Civil work repair and restructuring:    

Very often to service the requirements of a project shipment we need to look at various options like construction of a new jetty to enable delivery closer to the factory site. This may happen when the consignment is too large to be carted by road. In such a case we arrange to offload the cargo onto a jetty on a riverfront or coast constructed especially for this purpose. In addition, we undertake various civil works like construction of temporary roadway or dismantling signboards, etc to facilitate transportation. All necessary approvals required for such activities are obtained by our team and the site is returned to its pre-construction state. This is the level of customization that we at Allcargo offer our customers.

Ocean Freight | Ship Chartering | Barging – Offshore & Inland Waterways:    

Heavy and ODC cargo are best moved by sea while sometimes it is enough to book space on cargo ships at other times we may need to charter an entire vessel to accommodate the heavy cargo. This is another service we provide as a part of our integrated logistics solutions. We move your cargo from the road and load it on to the chartered ship again the entire documentation, clearances, route planning and handling is handled by Allcargo. Our skilled team of professionals is present onsite to ensure that the cargo is loaded safely and on time. On reaching destination our team is again present to ensure offloading operations progress smoothly. We also fabricate and construct barges for river journeys and inland waterways. Site handling & erection:    

Various technical issues may arise at the time of offloading the cargo, but our crew is always around to ensure that the cargo is offloaded and positioned as per the requirements of the job contract. Sometimes a makeshift ramp may also need to be constructed to place the cargo while offloading. We are aided in this with our own asset portfolio comprising various cranes for heavy cargo in addition to trailers and other equipment.
