All About Yarn Weekly Update February 8, 2017
Thank you for supporting All About Yarn, your LYS! –Julie & Gunnar
Malabrigo’s newest yarn is on its way! Dos Tierras: means Two Lands, reflecting the sources of the two amazing fibers found in this ultra-soft yarn. By spinning together 50% fine Uruguayan Merino wool with 50% baby alpaca from Peru they have created a DK weight yarn that is as versatile as it is beautiful. And when you combine the good stitch definition and drape of this four ply yarn with their amazing kettle-dyed semi-solid and variegated colors you have the perfect palette to help show off your stitch work.

JUST ARRIVED All About Yarn has carried Ewe Ewe So Sporty in the past, but when Gunnar and I were in San
Jose at the most recent trade show, we stopped by the booth and I was amazed at their color
choices and patterns. So, I ordered the yarn again and some patterns and it finally made its way to
our little corner of the world! I am in love with a couple of the patterns and am trying to figure
out when I can find the time to knit for myself! I think you are going to love a pattern or two
yourself!!

PICK A PROJECT PRICE CHANGE ALERT
Our pick a project classes are the most popular classes here at All About Yarn! Thank you
to all the class members for supporting All About Yarn, week after week and year after
year! Gunnar and I and all the staff here really appreciate your business and even more
importantly, your loyalty!
We have some very talented knitting teachers here at the shop and in order to retain and
recruit new talent, the pick a project class pricing structure has changed.
Effective March 1, 2017, the weekly class price will now be $12.50/week.
You are still expected to sign up for the month, but you now have a choice to pay for the
whole month in advance or pay week to week. Whichever suits your lifestyle and budget.
In addition, we are no longer offering credit on missed classes. No exceptions. If you are
not sure that you can attend every week of a month, then the pay as you go option would
work best for you that month. The price is the same whether you pay in advance or week to
week.
The pick a project class members are one of the best things about All About Yarn and we
enjoy helping you create new projects and learning new skills.
If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know. I value all feedback from our
customers.
Sincerely,
Julie & Gunnar

Donate a Love Hat Kit for Soldiers & Refugees – Each kit contains all the supplies to make two child hats or one adult hat. Women in Ukraine want to be involved, but need supplies.
Donna S. from Tuesday morning class, along with our shop, has created a way for you to help the people
of Ukraine. Donna has visited Ukraine over 53 times and has helped with many humanitarian missions to
this war-torn country. There are over 3 million Ukrainian refugees who have fled the war in eastern
Ukraine. The refugee women are knitting hats for the refugees, including children, and soldiers with yarn
that was sent from Minnesota. They need yarn and needles to make the much-needed hats.
We have created a “Hats of Love Kit” that will be sent overseas. Each kit will provide either 2 children’s
hats or 1 adult hat and includes 1 skein of worsted weight yarn, size 7 double pointed needles, a stitch
marker and the hat pattern created by our own Sherry Heide!
How can you help? We are asking you to donate $20 per kit. Each kit will be packed and sent to the
Ukraine via a Refugee Container.
You have until March 31st to donate and purchase a kit or two for the women in Ukraine to knit.
Please call or stop by the shop to make your donation. All About Yarn will package the kits and they will
be picked up and shipped by April 1st. If you have any questions, please let me know. – Thank you! Julie a
