1957Alkhorayef Group (formerly AIA) is founded by Abdullah Ibrahim Alkhorayef to represent international companies producing water pumps and irrigation machinery and handling well-drilling projects.

1962Alkhorayef Group enters into partnership with US pumps manufacturer Western Layne, the first of many partnerships undertaken by the Machinery Systems strategic business unit to distribute premium machinery brands..

1983 The Operations and Maintenance Company (now Alkhorayef Water and Power Technologies) is established to operate and maintain water and waste water systems.

1991Alkhorayef Group becomes a Castrol Oil distributor.

1992Alkhorayef Group acquires a company involved in printing machinery and printing consumables. A company manufacturing carbonless ‘NCR’ paper is opened and considered to be the first in the Middle East.

1993 Alkhorayef Petroleum is established to provide advanced pumping equipment for the oil and gas industry.

2002 Alkhorayef Group’s agriculture and irrigation business unit expands to offer solutions all aroundthe world.

2009Alkhorayef Lubricants enters into a joint venture with BP to supply the kingdom with Castrol Oil.

The Oil and Lubricants strategic business unit consists of two main companies, Alkhorayef Petroleum and Alkhorayef Lubricants.

Alkhorayef PetroleumSince 1980, Alkhorayef Petroleum has been providing top-quality pumping systems and components that transform oil production, both offshore and onshore.

The oil and gas industries are changing fast. Our strong emphasis on research and development, coupled with our cutting-edge facilities, means we can respond rapidly to new conditions to produce the best products in the field.

We’re leaders in the Middle East, which is the largest consumer of electric submersible pump equipment in the world. Our WSP division (Western Submersible Pumps) is the only company of its kind in the region with full-scale manufacturing and repair capability. Meanwhile, our WEPCO division (Western Engineered Pumps and Components) has the only state-of-the-art stainless steel foundry and rotating equipment repair plant in the region.

Machinery Systems consists of two main companies – Alkhorayef Industries, which holds the agricultural and irrigation company and the steel pipes factory that produces ASP (Alkhorayef Steel Pipes), and Alkhorayef Commercial, which distributes industrial and marine machinery. It also includes our marine division and the Saudi Parts Centre, a leading supplier of innovative spare parts for heavy equipment within the kingdom.

Agriculture and irrigationWe have a long and proud history in Saudi agriculture, having worked with Saudi farmers back in the early days of government subsidies to boost the region’s agricultural sector. As the leading company in the sector, we helped raise the GNP contribution of farming from 1% to 9% in the 1980s.

The department is now one of the four biggest world players in the large-scale irrigation industry, helping food producers to meet growing demand in a way that is both environmentally friendly and profitable.

We operate major international projects, financed mainly by regional investment, to bridge the gap in food supply in Saudi Arabia and the region.

and reliable drinking

Not only have we delivered clean water to Saudi’s major cities, but we have also built major wastewater and sewage treatment plants all around the kingdom. In addition, we have constructed hundreds of thousands of metres of sewers – for example, a project in Buraidah used 120,000 metres of sewer network and 140,000 metres of house connections.

Alkhorayef Water and Power TechnologiesAs Class 1 contractors to Saudi government agencies, we’re leaders in the engineering, construction, operation and maintenance of water and wastewater plants and networks, pump stations, desalination plants and storm wells.

The water supply in Saudi is almost entirely dependent on desalination and fossil water, and until recently a large proportion of householders had no access to municipal water or sanitation systems. In addition, the lack of adequate drainage systems meant that severe winter floods could cause major problems.

The Saudi government is now investing billions in the recently privatised water sector to improve supply everywhere. With over 20 years’ experience in managing and executing complex and innovative projects, and a 2,000-strong workforce, we are trusted partners in this process.

Alkhorayef Printing Solutions With the merger of two Alkhorayef companies, TransOrient Modern Machinery (TOMM) and Al-Nakhil Paper Industries, Alkhorayef Printing Solutions offers a comprehensive portfolio of products backed up by an impressive spare parts service.

Since 1992, we have represented major print manufacturers, including Manroland, Bobst, Screen, Kulbus, Ferag, Meccanotecnica and Hohner. We distribute large-scale printing presses, sheetfeed presses and web machines for newspaper and commercial production. We also supply converting machines for use in the packaging industry, cardboard die-cutting machines, folding machines and book-binding equipment.

In addition, APS supplies a range of printing materials and consumables, including ink, plates, film, blankets and chemicals. It is also the main supplier for the Saudi packaging industry.

Our paper operation is equally strong. We are the sole carbonless copy paper producer in the region and the second largest paper trader in Saudi Arabia, predominantly supplying commercial and government printing presses.

Our high-quality manufacturing capabilities mean we can compete successfully with international suppliers to serve the Saudi publishing industry. We have also developed innovative graphics and packaging products, including a specially-coated board to protect food items.
