id a super race of master scientists onceindulge in the most hideous forms of geneticengineering? Experiments so bizarre andghastly that they involved transplanting thehead of humans on goats and eagles? Creaturesliterally built together and constructed of the

limbs and features of every other animal?

    Impossible?Well,

certainly o our ears, not just impossible utquite ridiculous o even contemplate. ut keep on reading. Keep

on reading because ncredible as t may sound there was oncewidespread belief that in the earliest prehistory this horrificmaster race of people did act ually exist. In fact there are somewho believe hat th e experimenta l abilities of these peoplesubstantially altered the genetic makeup of our entire species. Some go even further to suggest hat Mankind is himself theproduct of a genetic experiment originated by aliens.

Even more intriguing is the fact that ail this is said to.haveoccurred many many millions of years ago, during a period when

the world was otherwise in a complete state ofchaos. It was thought that an unknown race ofbeings that inhabited the world of that timeacquired the knowledge and abiliry to be able tocontrol and distort the genetic makeup of allhuman and animal life forms. Eventuallyhowever this experimentation went horrificallywrong and the whole habited world of that day

    was almost completely destroyed.

Fff[TR II I IOIIAn intriguing story, but where is the evidence? Weare after all talking of a period in the deepestprehistory - a time long before Mankind isthought to have even existed. And yet now we aretalking not only of a developed species at thattime, but also one capable of altering the veryblueprints of our existence.

To many this will sound like crossing the veryboundaries of credulity. But wait. Let's take thingsin order.

Let's look at the evidence. Let us lookfirst at the earliest records. Mostly these arecomposed of my ths and legends. Not very reliableone might think. But here you would be wrong. The language of the myths may be flowery andhard to fathom but this is mostly because hey areriddled with allegory and symbolised happenings. In fact they are something of a code. Ignore themand you ignore a very real source of historicalevidence, Tieat them with respect however andyou invariably open the door to a whole newavenue of thought and enquiry. Here one has onlyto remember Schliemann's aith in the Iliad and hi ssubsequent discovery of Tioy. In fact the truth isthat whenever there have been people willing totrust in ancient egends major discoveries haveinvariably followed.

Even so Tloy rates as recent history compared tothe timescale we are now thinking of. And yet arecord of these times still exists. It is to be foundwritten as part of the annals of one of the earliestcultures on Earth.

I IE$OPOIfl l | IR'We go now to Mesopotamia and the ancientrecords of the Babylonians. It is here in the landof the two rivers that our modern understandingof civilisation arises. Significantly this ancient landpossesses richly developed series of creationmyths and many of the later Judaeo-Christianwritings, are thought to have been passed downfrom this once fertile area of Mesopotamia.

It was the belief of these early authors that theworld was subject to frequent catastrophes thatperiodically wiped out nearly all living matter. Toa certain extent they believed these catastropheswere predictable, and rather than face the loss oftheir records and traditions they buried a historyof their people in the "city of the sun at Sippara".This was a wise precaution because a freshdisaster is said to have wiped away the entireworld of its day. Finally when the survivorsreturned they remembered he secret ecords

which were unearthed and used to reconstruct theciry of Babylon. The nature of these records might well have

been lost to us forever, but fortunately fragmentsof what they contained are still to be found. Theyoriginate from a source with personal access othese records - the historian Berossus. ThisBabylonian priest of the temple of Belus, whomost commentators credit with an unusuallydeveloped sense of historical accuracy lived andwrote in the time of Alexander the Great.Unfortunately his great work Babylonian Historyis now lost to us, but fragments of it have beenpreserved by the classical authors Abydenus,Apollodorus, and Alexander Polyhistor.

Much of the work contained in these fragmentsis an account of early prehistory. Yet unlike themyths it uses no sense of allegory and is obviouslyintended to be treated as historical reality. Thismakes it all the more remarkable because we finda definite reference to a remote period of timewhen the Earth was populated by the mosthideous of creatures:

"There was a time in which there was nothingbut darkness and an abyss of waters, whereinresided most awful beings, which were producedof a two-fold principle. Men appeared with fwo

wings, some with four and with two faces. Theyhad one body but rwo heads; he one of a man,the other of a woman. They were likewise in theirseveral organs both male and female. Otherhuman figures were to be seen with the legs andhorns of goats. Some had horses' eet, others hadthe limbs of a horse behind. but before werefashioned like men, resembling hippocentaurs.Bulls likewise bred with the heads of men anddogs with fourfold bodies, and tails of fishes. Alsohorses with the heads of dogs: men too and otheranimals, with the heads and bodies of horses andthe tails of fishes." In short these were creatureswith the limbs of every other species of animal.

I f lRLY|ISIORYTo any other age - to any other people, thisaccount would have read as no different to any ofthe many myths and legends. Yet surely now on

the eve of the 21st Century we are able to seethings differently. In this era of high technologicalachievement t is possible o re-look at this accountwith eyes not of incredulity but astonishment atthe reality of these dramatic lines of early history. For are we not seeing here the description of atechnological era gone crazy?

Berossus soeaks of hideous creatures "with thelimbs of eveiy species of animal". Today we canscarcely open a newspaper or turn on thetelevision without learning of a new procedurethat cross matches animal and human tissue. Pigshearts in humans, Lungs of oxen considered ashuman substitutes and a whole new area of spareparts surgery made possible from animal organs. Inaddition to this, cloning of animals throughbiological manipulatiop is now a distinctpossibility. Even scientists are expressing alarm atthe rate at which this research is developing.Essentially it means that in the near future it willbe possible to clone identical herds of cattle from asingle specimen. Image being able to clone ahundred Red Rums all identical in terms of abilityand fitness and you have some sort of idea ofwhere we are heading. The know-how is all thereand even scientists are becoming concerned as towhere this is leading.

David Hopkinson, director of the HumanBiochemical Genetics Unit at University CollegeLondon, said in a recent nterview inThe Timesthat he viewed this achievement "with sometrepitude". Another scientist said the whole thingwas a truly "appalling prospect".

The reality is that we are fully capable ofreplacing human organs with animal equivalents. This capability represents the here and now.

    'We've

already done it .It stands then that if there once existed an

advanced civilisation in'deepest prehistory, theytoo would have had the capability of doing suchthings. Perhaps hey even went further and didn't

ls llankindswe nowt today implyhe esrlt f a bizane eneticerperimentanied ut by ife iom nother alaxy?

stop at simply transplanting animal organs intopeople. Perhaps heir curiosity got the better ofthem. Maybe they took this genetic engineeringbeyond all moral and ethical limits to createterrible hybrid species of the sort described in thewritings of Berossus.

'We can laugh all we want but the fact is thatwith our current rate of progression science willagain be able to create these hybrid monsters ofantiquity. There is nothing to stop us except ourown conscience, but as history has shown, this hasnever been an impediment.

RIIIIEIIIEIT$The fact is that even the most cursory study ofancient texts shows that reference to this idea ofhybrid creatures is never hard to find. We see t inthe Minoan legend of the minotaur, that was half

    bull and halfman. We

    seet in

    thelegend of the

Unicorn, and the winged horse Pegasus. We alsosee t graphically immortalised in half-humanmixtures like the famous sphinx of Egypt.

Across the Mediterranean in Greece the sphinxwas an even more complicated creature whichpossessed he head and breasts of a woman, thebody of a lion, and the wings of a bird. Theancient Greeks also believed in the legend of theChimeras, which were composite monstersconstructed of "incongruous parts". This was saidto have been the head of a lion, the body of agoat and the tail of a serpent. In plain languagenothing that the science of the future will find too

difficult to duplicate. There are even those who go further and say

that Mankind himself is the result of an alienexperiment. In short we are the product of along term project, frequently altered andmanipulated and sown on this planet like seeds na vast terrestrial garden.

As a theory of our origins this is fast gainingconverts. Best-selling authors such as Erich VonDaniken, and George Adamski are almost insistenton this point. They highlight the fact thatloopholes in our ideas on human evolution, particularly the famous missing links are only

explainable by the fact that the answers must liein the hands of an influencing power. The certain truth is that out of the blue our

species arose from being little better than ananimal, to one capable of travelling to anotherplanet. And remember that ecologically thisoccurred over a time period that is barely morethan a blink of the eye. Instead of evolution wehave world of species hat to all intents andpurposes appear o have been createdinstantaneously in full corporeal identity.Significantly this is just the way that ancient textslike the Bible say it happened. In other wordseach iving thing was a separate creation.

What as he pecialorce ivenohumanshatsets hem part rom heaninal ingdom ndmorempodantly, where id t comerom?

Riltl. |1, |Itn1lEiltTt0tlFaced with this reality it seems ertain that ourspecies was at some point in its developm entimpregnated with special qualities hat set himapart from the animals. Some see his as the ha ndof God and others as the inrervention of aliens. The fact is that it happened.

In his book Return to the Stars best-selling uthorErich Von Daniken puts things nto the followingcontext: "I think it likely that unknown cosmonautsbrought with them to our Earth branches ofknowledge of the kind we are now acquiring andthat they made our ancestors ntelligent by theirmanipulation of the genetic code."

Elsewhere Von Daniken taiks of thismanipulation extending to the very heart of ourageing process. Curiously in all the ancient recordssuch as the Bib1e, people were living ou t fantastic

lifespans. This was originally explained as an errorin their counting of the years, but detailed studyof these manuscripts show this not to be the case.A year in the Bibie is just as ong as the year weknow today. Yet people of that time wer e livingfive to nine hundred years.

Von Daniken amongst others explains his interms of a mdlignant aging virus that wasdeliberately sent to make our days shorter. If so itwas put there a very ong t ime ago.

Now the mysteries of ageing are at last beingunravelled. Breakthrough s n our understandingof degenerative eli damage mean that we canonce again ook forward to much longer lifespans. In fact Michael Rose, professor of evolutionarybiology at the University of California says Thereis no limit to the potential life of human beings".He also nsisted hat eventually with this newunderstandin g people could easily ive ou t

lifespans of four hundred years or more. On theface of it this may all seem ike a cheerfuldevelopment. After all, living out indefinitelifespans does have attractions, but tamperingwith the genetic code can be dangerous. t's r atherlike fiddling with the registry of a modern daycomputer. Mix up the messages nd you finish upwith an insoluble crisis.

Perhaps his is what happened housands ofyears ago, in the d ays of the monstrous hybrids.Perhaps he scientists of the day didn't knowwhere to stop and brought on themselves abiocatastrophe of ep ic proportion s. This would beall too possible as changes n ou r biological make-up could also ntroduce lethal viruses capable ofwiping out all living matter. As one Harvardscientist observed: "The ability to manufacture, transplant, and combine genes s at the heart of apotential catastrophe hat threatens he entirehuman race with a biological doomsday."

On the surface it would appear that aliens haveonly turned up in recent decades, perhaps takingan interest in our new technology and theadvancement of our civilisations. However, thestudy of ancient texts, including the Bible, couldindicate that alidns have been visiting Earth forcenturies. According to some theorists they couldhave been coming he r since he dawn of time. Themost unusual theory is that aliens are actuallyresponsible for the existence of humanity.

Nobody can be certain where life originated orwhere the first DNA strand evolved. It could haveformed on Earth, in a chemical soup, by chance.Other people, however, prefer to think it camefrom space, nside a comet. Or it could be that aneven older civilisation {rom elsewhere in thegalaxy, deliberately seeded planets with DNA to

help start life. The remains of a civiJisation seen atCydonia on Mars, could give a clue to ourancestry. Perhaps Mars was once rich in life butexperienced global warming and as life ceased, heseeds of existence were sent to Earth.

Such ideas are disturbing because hey implythat humans are nothing more than an experimentor a compromise. If true however, it could be thatwe are much more than an experiment, but thatwe haven't seen how we fit into the larger picture.

'Why though, when science has fully explainedMan's evolution, should we believe that alienswere involved? It seems ike an unnecessary

fantasy, confusing theknown facts. In truth human

evolution hasn't been fully explained. Although weare taught that Man evolved from more basic lifeforms, there is remarkably little evidence to showthat this is the case. Evolution is by no means awatertight theory, which has led some people tobelieve hat aliens must have been nvolved'shifting evolution along.

    IS

RLtEil1{lERlI t1{l l01Is it possible hat the vision of 200L: A SpaceOdyssey is true; that evolution was forced uponus by alien i ntervention. One theory is thatevolution does occur, but in a slow and basic wayand that for the sudden appearance of man, genetic engineering must have taken place, It ispostulated that a monolith of some kind, perhapsa pyramid, was put on Earth to shift ape DNAslightlS helping to bring about the evolution ofman. Or it could be that aliens abducted apecreatures and directly manipulated their DNA, tocreate'instant' humans.

Again this might sound like a wild theory, untilyo u consider the fact that sudden shifts n speciesare known to occur, though there is no

explanation of why this happens.Darwin's theory of evolution states hat

organisms produce offspring which are slightlydifferent to their parents. Natural selectionfavours the survival (and hence breeding) ofindividuals whose improved features (such asbetter eyes, or sharper eeth), enable hem tosurvive. So by chance mutation, Darwin believedthat creatures gradually improved at random andwere then preserved, by being more fit forsurvival. It sounds convincing, but may not bethe full story.

Although experiments show that changes canoccur, these are usually within a species, a form ofmicro-evolution. So a fruit fly may change inhundreds of ways. from generation to generation,in terms of wing shape, eye colour and so on -but no matter how it mutates, it is still a fruit fly.Darwin thought that species ould graduallychange nto new species, ut this doesn't seem obe the case. The fossil record should show manyslight gradations betlveen old species and newones, but this isn't so. 'When Darwin observed thishe said it was, "the gravest objection to mytheory". He assumed hat better research wouldreveal more fossils, but today, that still hasn'thappened. According to the evidence, something

forces species o shift suddenly from one form toanother. It could be possible herefore that lifedeveloped on Earth but that something - perhapsaliens - continually shifted its development tomore advanced forms.

In many ways, this seems plausible, because heidea of gradual evolution is quite ridiculous. Howcould it be for instance, that we could developeyes n gradual stages. Half an eye, or part of afeather, is useless; only the complete forms areworthwhile. This being so, why would naturalselection preserve ransitional organs? t wouldn't.It should also be noted that the fossil record

shows no evidence of transitionalforms, where

    organs ar e gradually changing.

F05$lLt l I IE1 ' l IEThe fossil record shows that species do not appeargradually, but appear fully formed, as though theirdevelopment has.been guided or engineered.About 550 million years ago, during the Cambrianera, a wide variety of complex life forms appearedat once. So dramatic was this change that it isreferred to as the Cambrian Explosion. Thesecomplex life forms (jellyfish, trilobites andmolluscs) do not appear to have ancestral species;it is as though they came from nowhere. Thissuggests hat something took rhe basic DNA ofEarth and manufactuted new soecies.

This isn't the sort of evolution they teach you atschool and flaws in the Darwinist theory aregenerally kept quiet, but there is no avoiding thisissue. Although the idea of alien intervention mayseem extreme, science tself has no full explanationfor the sudden shifts in evolution.

Perhaps he most dramatic appearance of a new

species, was man. Although we often see chartsshowing man evolving from ape, through variousstages of hominid to modern man, these are amyth. Despite extensive research, there remains amissing link between man and earlier species.Evolutionists believe that the missing link will befound and that we will discover fossils showing atype of species connecting Man ancestrally toearlier species. Unfortunately for them, this maynot be the case. As some researchers have pointedout, there isn't so much a missing link, as awhole missing chain.

Although Man has obvious similarities to othercreatures such as monkeys, the dramaticdevelopments which happened in a very short timeare unlikely to have happened by chance. The sizeof our brain, which makes us capable of complexthought, is unnecessary or simple survival. Theexcess of brain power which gives us potentialbeyond our basic needs, is puzzhng. Ifyou studythe fossil record, it looks as though somebodytook basic ape DNA and created man. This may bedisturbing, but it fits in with the facts. Otherwise, why have we stopped evolving? If evolution reallydoes occur as the Darwinists say, why hasn'tmodern man evolved again? How could it be thatall these changes could take place, and then stop?

REt |ELflIIOIIOne possibility is that man evolved elsewhere, in away that we cannot understand, because t isdifferent to the way life operates on Earth. It ispossible that we were either seeded rom Mars, orthat ancient civilisations travelled here directly inescape ships, losing their technology on crashlanding. Perhaps more likely is the idea that thealiens have nurtured and engineered life forthousands of years. If, as some people suggest, they can travel through time, they couldpotentially skip through history, coaxing the entireevolution of our world within their own life soans.

This could help to explain why the abductionsare occurring now. They are happening becausethey have always happened from time to time. They go on because he aliens are monitoringtheir experiment. Or perhaps they are evenmoving the experiment up a stage. As abductionsescalate o astonishing numbers, they could bepreparing to shift our evolution again.

If this is true, there may never be a moment ofrevelation. We all expect

the aliens to land onthe ril/hite House lawn and we exDect arevelation of their purpose, bu t it may nevercome. If we are created by them then like rats ina lab experiment we may never know what isgoing on, It is possible ha t the governments ofthe world know what the aliens are up to, butthey keep quiet on instruction, to allow forman's full development. Or it could be that thegovernments are as much in the dark as the restof us. Like us they know that aliens exist, buttheir purpose is a mystery,

Although shocking, the idea of alien-drivenevolution isn't all bad. Abductions appear to beon the increase and there are rumours ofhybridisation plans and alien babies being bornfrom human mothers. If this is the case, hen thenext shift in our evolution could be an excitingone. 'We may never know in our life time exactlywhat is going on, if such a scheme goes accordingto the aliens' plans, but there are enough clues forus to make educated guesses. t could be that thealiens were last here centuries ago, giving us theability to think scientifically and developtechnology. Now that we have done that, theymay have returned to help us advance again. Itcould be that they are now giving us creative andspiritual dimensions,

to help us cope with theknowledee that awaits us .

e often take for granted thefact that our species ose fromvirtual obscurity to onecapable of astonishing feats,bu t what was the impetus thathastened this progress? Was it

purely from our own ingenuity or were weinfluenced, prodded

and encouraged along aspecific line of development? And if so, by whoan d for what reason?

These are important questions because heyaddress he very essence of who we are and wherewe came from. The fact is that for well over ahundred thousand years Man is supposed to haveexisted as little more than a creature barely able tosatisfy his daily living requirements. Then suddenlyout of the blue civilisation arises. Even moresurprising is the complete lack of any evolutionaryprocess of development eading up to thisexplosion of culture. In fact wherever we see heemergence of civilisation it occurs withbewildering rapidity as if arriving fully fledgedfrom some unidentified source.

O|JT$IIEIIFLUEiIIE$Established science has so far failed to arrive atany credible explanation for this riddle and thishas led many to suggest hat the answers might lieoutside of our planet. According to these theoriesman was, at various crucial points in his history, influenced by beings from outer space. Thesebeings carefully placed him on a specific path ofdevelopment and gave help to establish mankind

as an organised sociery.Predictably science ridicules all notion of thisconnection yet in return fails to offer anyworthwhile explanation. We are left then with

many questions and very few answers. Inparticular we are faced with a repeatingphenomenon, of emergent civilisations rising upas if from nowhere.

But is it really feasible for us to believe that ourplanet has played regular host to beings fromother worlds? And did rhey moreover help us

with our development to the extent of laying thefoundation of all our arts and sciences? It seemed o me that here was an apparently

insoluble problem, rX/here could one go to foranswers? There just didn't seem a satisfactoryavenue of inquiry. Then suddenly it dawned onme that perhaps the explanations were to befound by consulting with the ancient culturesthemselves. They weren't around to approachthem directly, but we still have their writings, andit made sense hat if it's explanations we are akerthen no-one knew better than the ancientsthemselves. A-fter all these fantastic civilisationswith their marvellous monuments and scienceswere the work of their hands. so who did thevfeel was the influence behind these amaztnedevelopments? id they believe he m ro be th eresult of their own brilliance and ingenuiry or didthey feel them to have been nfluenced by others?

[01 ' lSULIl l l01 |Eflillt]ilsTh e answer o this wa s ruly amazing. Almostwith a unified voice I found that emergentcivilisations of the ancient world, whether in

Mesopotamia, Egypt, Meso-America or theAndes, aiways attributed their sudden foundknowledge and culture to benevolent aliens whoarrived from either the sea or the sky. Never did

they even attempt to attribute theseaccomplishments to their own skill and prowess. In Mesopotamia the Babylonians believed thisinfluence to have come from the sea. To them apersonage called Oannes was responsible for al ltheir learning and culture. From fragments of aBabylonian historian named Berossus we findthe following description contained in RobertTemple's bookThe Sirius Mystery: "This beingin the day-time used to converse with men; buttook no food at that season; he gave them aninsight into letters and sciences, and every kind

of art. He taught them to construct houses, tofound temples, to compile laws and explained tothem the principles of geometrical knowledge. He made them distinguish the seeds of theEarth, and showed them to collect fruits; inshort he instructed them in every thing whichcould tend to soften manners and humaniseMankind. From that time so universal were hisinstructions, nothing has been added by way ofimprovement. !7hen the sun set, it was thecustom of this being to plunge again into thesea, and abide all night in the deep.. ."

Apparently this Oannes was amphibious innature - at home in both sea and water. Accordingto Berossus his appearance was both half fish andhalf man. This is interesting because he historians'detailed description sounds just like that of a frog-man. Additionally we find that where Oannes ledthe way, others followed. As Berossus puts it:"After this there appeared others like Oannes".

Accounts of other culture bearing beings ofaquatic origin are also contained in the ritualceremonies of the Dogon tribe of Mali in Africa. The Dogon say these beings whom they named the'Nommos' (interestingly the Greek word for law)arrived from the sky and gave.them specialastronomical insight. The baffling truth is that this

apparently unsophisticated tribe knew of anunknown companion star to the Dog Star Sirius

long before it was known to conventionalastronomy. The Dogon also believe he Nommosare the overseers and guardians of the universeand that soon they will again return to the Earth.

1| lST0Rl[f l tS0sThe closer we look into the ancient writings themore references we find of these educatinginfluences originating from beings who wereapparently not of our species. n a fragmentattributid to the historian Heladius, we findreference to a personage called Oe who comes outfrom the Red Sea with a fish like body but havingthe head, feet and arms of a man. This being issaid to have possessed great knowledge ofastronomy and letters.

An interesting anecdote to these accounts is thefact that unidentified objects have never just beenlimited to the sky. In fact USO (UnidentifiedSubmarine Objects), are almost as prevalent.Typically these are described as spherical orbs, rather like eggs hat radiate strange lights andoccasionally come to the surface of the ocean.

Could it be then that after all these yearsOannes and the Nommos of the Dogon haveactually returned to this planet as they said theywould? If so it would surely herald the coming ofmomentous events because t is said thatwhenever such contacts occur great periods ofchange are never slow in following.

Intervention from 'sky gods' or aliens is oftenquoted as he inspiration behind the proudachievements of the ancient Egyptians. Amongst

other wonders, their golden period of pyramidconstruction combined mastery of stone withimpressive mathematical and geometricalbrilliance. They also loved to hide the full extentof their knowledge in the dimensions and outlineof their principal constructions; But who hadshown them these crafts, because once again wesee he swift rise of an amazing culture thatsprings up with astonishing rapidity?

To the ancient Egyptians belief in theinfluencing hand of 'sky gods'was an all powerfulimpetus. It defined everything they did andbelieved. Here the culture bearer was known by avariety of names: 'Thoth' was widely accepted as

the bringer of wisdom. They ascribed o him theinvention of the sciences of astronomy, mathematics, geometry and medicine.

Another important figure in the Egyptianpantheon was Ptah. The greatest of all the godsof Memphis. Apparently hi s name is taken tomean 'opener' - an opener of knowledge intoall handicrafts. Above all, the Egyptiansregarded him as the masrer architect (thefashioner of the universe) whose knowledgeand inspiration led to the whole magnificentprogramme of pyramid building.

To Osiris is ascribed knowledge of civiliry andmanners. In his book Myths and Legends of EgyptLewis Spence writes glowingly of his influence,"The land of Egypt flourished under his rule asnever before. Like another'hero-god'he se thimself the task of civilising his people who at hiscoming were in a very barbarous condition, induiging in cannibaiistic and other savagepractises. He gave hem a code of laws, taught

them the acts of husbandry and showed them theproper rites wherewith to worship the gods. Andafter he had succeeded n establishing law andorder in Egypt he betook himself to distant landsto continue there his work of civilisation."

\7e see here that the definite understanding sthat Osiris's mission was not just confined toEgypt but was pan-global in its aims andintentions. For instance, fa r away from Egypt inCentral America the story of Quetzalcoatl isanother perfect illustration of this civilisinginfluence. Again we see he very sudden arrivalof knowledge which brings in its wake anunderstanding of so many

things vital to amodern civilised society.

f lZTEIl tYOISTo the Aztecs Quetzalcoatl was "giver ofknowledge and ai l good things". In the light of hisadvent came knowledge of astronomy, mathematics, and architecture. Al l this presumablyhappened many hundreds of years before theAztecs became discernible as a cultu re.

Throughout the emergent civilisations of theAmericas we find this all-present dea of aninfluencing hand. To the Mexicans he was knownas Quetzalcoatl'; to the Maya, 'Kukulkan'; and tothe Inca,'Kon:Tiki-Wira-Kocha'.

To the Kayapo Indians of Brazll this influencingpersonage was known as Bep Kororoti'. This was

yet another culture bearing being who arrivedfrom the skies. On this occasion he came carryinga "thunder weapon" capable of causing greatdestruction. Like Oannes n Mesopotamia he gavethe native people instruction and knowledge of agreat many things including the planting andsewing of seeds and th e improved use of weaponsand handicrafts. Finally Bep Kororoti is said tohave vanished nto the skies o a backeround of"fiery clouds, smoke, and thunder".

Significantly the Kayapo Indianscelebrate heir most sacred estivals

Itis from this period that the Aborigine claim toderive their intense understanding of natural andsupernatural hings passed down through a longline of ancestral descent. They believed heseancestral beings created all human life forms aswell as "all forms of life in fauna and flora".

According to theseancient sources man was once taught great thingsby others who were not of his species beingswho quite literally just arrive from the sky.

Some even go as far as to say that this influenceextends straight on down to this very day - that therole of the culture bearers s still far from over. Andif all this seems ar too implausible iust imagine thatbarely one hundred years ago the thought of mantravelling to the moon or routinely flyingthousands of miles in a couple of hours would haveseemed entirely preposterous, In fact these asteighry or so years have seen an unimaginabltexplosion of knowledge and science. of flying saucers only came about once we hadcreated our own flying metallic craft. Until then,UFOs were perceived as anything from gods toburning birds. Could it be that UFOs have alwaysbeen the same, bu t our way of perceiving themhas now changed?

If the UFOs are flying aliens, ike some obscureform of airborne whales, is it possible that wecould perceive hem in abnormal ways? There iseven the possibiliry that such creatures might giveoff radiation which could disturb our minds, thuscreating many of the symptoms associated withUFO sightings and abductions.

People who believe n UFOs as sky creatures, rather than alien ships, feel that the creatures areat home on Earth. They are not aliens in the usualsense of the world; they are simply rare sky

animals, normally obscure to us.Despite the bizarre nature of this belief, there is

a great deal of evidence o support it. The theoryof Orgone Energy which, although not a part ofconventional science, could help to explain wherethese flying bioforms come from.

An Austrian scientist named Wilhelm Reichdiscovered a form of energy which he called'orgone'. This he believed was the force that gavelife to the universe, and could al so be responsiblefor the sky creatures.

Reich was known for his psychological studies, but after a while he turned his attention to the

study of organic decay. He filmed moss and grassdisintegrating, noting the way they broke into

blue-green vesicles. He saw that when materialsare allowed to disintegrate in a nutrient solution, they swell to form these vesicles, which he calledbions. Although his findings are not backed up byconventional science, he was certain that these'bions' were a source of life, spontaneouslyforming into amoeba and protozoa. He believedthat the force of organic matter was somehow thesource of life. In recent years, the spontaneousappearance of form from chaos has become morewidely accepted. It could be that Reich haddiscovered an aspect of chaos theory years beforeits time, by seeing the.life force at work.

Ifhile working with bion preparations, Reichobtained a deep tan, and found that his lab coatglowed in the dark. A classical physicist assuredReich that his experiments could not be formingradiation, but he couldn't ignore the evidencebefore him. It was this energy, produced by lifeitself, that he came to call orgone.

Orgone is a subtle form of energy, a

combination of wave forms and radiation, that iscreated by all living things. It is somewhat akin roThe Force mentioned in the Star Wars movies; itis created by life, and in turn gives power to life.It cannot be detected by conventional means, butcan be perceived by those want to know more.It could be a source of many paranormalactivities, including U.FOs.

0R00i l t0t{RIt is said that orgone is created by the interactionof sunlight with living tissue. This creares bions, a

sort of biological ether. This ether, which clings toliving tissue, is though to be responsible forconsciousness and memory. Conventional sciencehas never found a full oxplanation forconsciousness, and continues to ignore Reich'sdiscovery of a supern4tural energy which could beresponsible for keeping us alive. This energy couldbe the force that transforms us from bundles ofatoms into living, thinking beings.

As well as being attracted to organic materials,Reich discovered that orgone tended to settle intospecial boxes that he created. These were linedwith metal, and contained alternating layers oforganic and metallic material. These structures arenow referred to as orgone accumulators, andexperiments have shown that they are capable ofraising temperatures, and attracting light forms. They can be any size, from a few inches across, osomething much larger.

It has been suggested n r ecent years thatancient sites, such as stone circles, may be orgoneaccumulators. Silbury Hill, in'Sfiltshire, fo rinstance, was constructed in segments and layers.Archaeologists have never been able to explainwhy the ancients went to such lengths structuringthe inside of a hill that would never be seen. s itpossible that the ancients knew about orgbne,

and were building the hill to accumulate orgone? It could be that ley lines, which align the sacred

sites, are part of a gridwork of energS fuellingthe planet. It is widely believed that such a gridexists, and that it is natural in origin, but that ithas been further empowered by the building ofancient sites.

Structures such as Stonehenge and Avebury, along with other stone circles, standing stones, burial mounds and tumuli

might be similar to thecomponents of a circuit board, regulating apreviously unknown energy.

People who visit ancient sites often haveexperiences that would be expected from cominginto contact with orgone energy. There are reportsof dizziness and nausea. Photographic film oftenfogs, and batteries in cameras drain. People tastesomething bitter and metallic, and there arereports of heightened awareness, headaches andmemory loss. It is known that orgone can createthese effects, indicating that ancient sites doattract and regulate orgone energy.

If these ancient sites are orgone accumulators, this might hint at why so many paranormal eventsoccur around them. Either the orgone affects thehuman mind, making us falsely perceive ordinaryevents as being strange, or the energy might rip atnormal reality, allowing ghosts, black dogs, fairiesand UFOs to be seen.

If we accept that UFOs are a form of flying lifeform, then it would be fair to expected them tobe attracted to our ancient sites, perhaps to feedon the accumulated energy. Many Ufologists haveobserved the way that UFOs are frequently seenclose to ancient sites, but this has been difficult toexplain. The orgone theory would make it clear.

Our ancient sites could be feeding grounds fororgone bioforms.

'Where, though, might these bioforms comefrom? The evidence collected so far indicates hatthese creatures exist in the upper atmosphere, onlyrarely travelling down towards Earth where theybecome visible. This explains why UFO sightingsat e rare, but not unknown,

The upper atmosphere s the most likely homefo r these creatures, because t i s rich in orgoneenergy. As all life on the planet gives off orgoneenergy, t is collected n the magnetic fields of theupper atmosphere. Although much of it remainson Earth, especially n the grid of ley lines andancient sites, a large amount collects n the highestpart of the Earth's atmosphere, almost in space.'We can think of this upper atmosphere as beinglike another ocean. t is rich in chemicals, orgoneand electromagnetism, o it isn't unrea sonable oexpect life to form there. That life may bedifferent to the life we ar e familiar with, but it

isn't beyond our compre hension. After all, whalesare complerely i fferent o us . loat ing andswimming through water in an environment thatis just as alien to us as outer space . t doesn'ttake a great eap of the imagination to understandhow other creatures could exist in the highest partof the atmosphere.

Reich observed spontaneous ife emerging fromorgone on ea rth, so it is likely the same wouldhappen in the upper atmosp here. Such ife wouldhave to be lightweight, to avoid falling to earth, more of a gaseous mass han a solid creature. These amoeba-like masses, r bioforms, wouldbe invisible, feeding on electromagnetism andthe surrounding orgone.

The orgone aliens might only come down toEarth to feed, topping up on their reserves fenergy. This would explain why they are attractedto Dow er stations. ancient sites and fault lines.

Many researchers ave assumed hat UFOs arenothing more than ball lightning or some othermeteorological effect, due to the way they areoften seen n areas inked to electrical power orgeological aults. It is possible however that UFOsare seen n these areas because hey are attractedto the sites, as feeding or breeding giounds.

These bioforms, which are normally invisible, might become visible when they approach Earth, because f the lower magnetic frequencies whichoccur here. This is why we see hem as physicalobjects, or glowing lights at night. This would alsoexplain why 'ball lightning' is seen o move in anintelligent way; because t isn't iightning at all, buta living, flying creature.

fiiltE3l ;'tTfE, rf, ?gFdfi#ffi#ffiffif;-E$ffi$If orgone sky creatures do exist, they could be

responsible or the majority of UFO sightings. Many observers say that UFOs are organic andflexible, rather than stationary. They have beenseen loating over roads, at close range, and aresometimes said to be more like a gas or ball ofglowing light than a solid. Such observations maybe more accurate han the clich6d flying saucersthat witnesses describe. t's quite possible ha twhen peopie se e orgone aliens, hey perceive hemas spaceships ue to their inexplicable appearance. If you study UFO reports, you will find that manycontain descriptions of gas-like structures, and theshape of the 'craft' changing. Sometimes he'ship' is described as being transparent, withstrange inner workings, which could possiblymean that people are seeing he internal organs ofthese unusual creatures.

UFOs are often seen changing shape as they fly, which does not fit ifi with the concept of solidships. Orgone aliens, however, would be flexibleand could easily stretch; this might even be a partof their natural propulsion. There are also reportsof UFOs flying into hillsides, or into the ground, which would be possible or orgone entities. Byexisting in different vibrational wavelengths, theymay be able to pass hrough physical objecs aseasily as we pass hrough water. ril/hen UFOs

disappear spontaneously, t could be that theorgone creatures are disguising hemselves with aform of camouflage; by raising their frequency, they might make themselves nvisible.

People who witness UFOs report experiencessimilar to those that occur when orgone is present, including memory loss and missing ime. It is justpossible ha t the whole UFO phenomenon hasdeveloped rom the misperception of such sk ycreatures. Even physical interaction with apparentaliens could be down to the brain being affectedby the strong electromagnetism given of f byorgone creatures. This energy could also make ourcar engines cu t out, which is something that UFOsare often said to cause.

Almost every aspect of Ufology can beexplained by thinking of alien craft as aliencreatures n their own right. It is even possiblethat crop circles are created by orgone aliens, which could explain why radiation, radiodistortions, and orgone after-effects areexperienced n crop circles. UFOs are often seenclose o crop circles, before and after theirformation. Perhaps when orgone aliens passthrough fields, they leave his trace, although it ispossible that the orgone aliens are trying tocommunicate with us through crop markings. If,however, the hoax theory proves to be true, it ispossible hat crop circles ac t as orgone

accumuiators, hus attracting UFOs. Many cropcircle hoaxers report seeing anomalous ights, andtheir circles are known to produce paranormaleffects. t is possible ha t ai l circles are hoaxes, but this doesn't necessarily top them from beinga potent form of orgone accumulator, attractingthe sky creatures.

UFOs have been seen on Earth fo r manycenturies, but contact has never been made. Tothis date, there is no evidence of actual aliensrecorded on film. \7e may be going about Ufologythe wrong way, by thinking of UFOs as aliensfrom another place. In a few years, as orgoneenergy becomes understood more widely, sciencemay find that the aliens are already in our midst.

However, this particular formation wasintriguing because of the time in which it wascreated 15 minutes if the pilot is to be beiieved. To do this would take a very large number ofpeople and extreme organisation. The field is nextto and in plain view of a very busy road and if thismany people were frantically making theformation then how is it that they were not see n?

The precision n the crop formation is trulyspectacular and could be witnessed even weeksafter its occurrence.

As youoften find with farmers with crop circle formationsin their fields, instead of sulking about the loss ofcrop, they invite people to look at the formationthemselves and char ge a small fee for the privilege, two pounds a head in this instance. By the looks ofthings this must have paid off as the daily i nflux ofcrop circle enthusiasts nd those who are simplycurious was tremendous.

Could this possiblybe linked to the quartz crystal vibrations fromthe stones hemselves?

So is the Stonehenge rop formation a genuineone? Sfho would dare pu t money on it? It seemshowever, safe enough to say his case s possiblythe best to date for a genuine paranormal circlefo r th e following reasons:

    1. The pilots claim that it was created n fifteenminutes.

    2. It was created n daylight near a thrivingtourist spot.

    3. The size of the formation and it s precisionwould take a very conspicuous eam of peoplewho were not seen,

    4. The formation has similarities o anotherrecent massive 650ft formation in Dorchesterwhich was created n a few hours and is alsowidely held to be a genuine formation. The linkbeing the spiral shape.

BflITLEF ELIIFThe trouble with crop circles s that the scepticsand the believers do not seem o trust each others'stories. 7e have people swearing hat they knowhow to make the circles and also spoke tobelievers with testimonies o verify that it wouldbe humanly impossible. So, as per usual, we areleft with a mystery, one that may never be solved.

ffiLgryer since he story leaked out,

back in 1987, the Ilkley Mooralien encounter has, or manypeople. been one of the mainpi l lar: support ing h is eeteringedifice that we call Ufology.

After speaking with veteran nvestigator ArthurTomlinson, I was amazed by just how manydetails applied to this case hat I had previouslybeen unaware of. The first surprise or me was tolearn that Arthur, who has been n this fie ld ofresearch or some 40 odd years, was the originaldetective on the story. Yet ook this account up innumerous UFO-related books, and often you willno t even see his name credited.

After speaking with several other sleuths whoknew the man, I discovered hat he is one of thegreat unsung heroes of this subje ct. Unlike mostothers, Arthur has not sought publicity, writtenbooks, and not attempted to milk Ufology for allthat it is worth, (as many seem o be doingnowadays), but rather, has been quietly lecturingup and down the country, charging groups onlyfor his oetrol exDenses.

The aliegation made by a former policeman (who

wishes o remain nameless) was that on themorning of l i t December. 198-. whils t crors ingIlkley Moor in Yorkshire, he disturbed a small'green' humanoid. Surprised, he creature ra nalong for a bit, halted when at a saf e distance, turned, momentarily standing motionless, beforeapparently signalling by bending and raising tsright arm. At this opportunity, our friend (whohad gone equipped with a basic pocket camera otake pictures of the town, high from th ismoorland area, and a compass or navigationshould the weather turn nasty) snapped a singleshot, just before the startled entity rapidly scuttled

towards, and around behind, a large moss-coveredrock formation in the distance. In whatseemed ike a fraction of a second, he flyingsaucer ose at breathtaking speed and disappearedhigh into the clouds.

This is how he initially re called h ings, but therewere definite discrepancies n his story. Partialmemory loss was apparent, and a s much as twohours could not be accounted or following thisepisode. t was decided by Arthur Tomlinson thatthe only course of act ion was o retr ieve ny

After chancing upon the hovering silver disc, theone-time policeman was suddenly engulfed by anelectrical field of some sort, which levitated himup inside the craft. I ' i l i l[0htREflThere is no doubt that some strange things canhappen on the bleak moors of yorkshire. Ilkley isrumoured to have been host to at least a couple ofother alien confrontations.

Peter Hough was recently approached by awoman keen to recount her UFO sighting in thesummer of 1987. She and her husband ived inIlkley. They were returning home between 1.00

and,2.00am along the Addingham Road whenthey saw a mass of white lights hovering oversome rocks. They initially believed he lights to becoming from some farm buildings, until sherealised that there were no farmhouses on thatpart of the moor. They observed the phenomenaal l th e wa y into llkley.

Added to this are strong traditions from peoples(some long-departed, some still living) aboutapparitions, goblins, earth spirits, fairyfolk andnumerous other miracles in these parts.

The Vhite Wells building was construcredaround a natural spring and bequeathed o thepeople of Ilkley by a wealthy landowner at rhebeginning of the 19th Century. $filliamButterfield, the Bathman, witnessed a bizarre sightwhen he went ro unlock he premises nemorning n 1815.

On 3 Oth March, 1996, Mark, along with hisaunt, her niece Michelle and her son Craig, went

The intriguing piece of coarse sandstonewhich measures about 19 feet long and about fourfeet thick, h ad been the source of many a rumourJand it was decided to take some pictures of thesite. Upon touching the stone, Mark, who hascertain psychic abilities, claimed that he couldimmediately feel energies ushing through hisbody. Immediately the nagging pain of an oldarthritic complaint vanished . His aun t (who is alsc, psychic and very spiritual) then proceeded omeditate and begin a conversation with an unseenentity on the rock , when sudden ly somethinghappened which was only visible to Mark. To hissurprise, he watched a stunning, glowing, violet-coloured 'vision' shoot ollt from the swastika.Standing back, thinking it wa s a trick of the light,Mark turned away, and then looked again, and thefigure had completely gone.

Mark says, It is up to the reader to decidewhether or no t to believe what I have reported. Tomy mind this event actually happened."

There are various stone circles on Ilkley Moor, the best known of which is the 'fwelve Apostles',a lmosr certain ly planned n i ts orientat iorr ovarious other stone monuments out here.Photographers of this site have reported

Using the few cluesto hand, Mark and fellow researcher/archaeologistGary Foster have indeed confirmed this significantdiscovery close o another ancient monument, thatof the 'Cross Stone'.

They stumbled across an installation approx200x110m, surrounded by a dou ble wire meshperimeter fence, comprising of two large steelmasts ike radio pylons, with equipment housingsat their bases. Also present was what looked like aguard rower off:et to the nrain area. overing anentrance o the compound. Numerous satellite-type dishes were clustered around the lowerportion of the two steel owers. After collecting asmuch useiu l data a ' poss ib le hey departed .

F? Ft ll fl"3:ff iE. ,E,ll t ESAfter speaking with an er-RAFCommunication/Radar officer, Gary Foster hascome up with the following:

"The double perimeter fence s a standard

securi ty er up for many cornmunicet ionr itcs nremote areas, as an o utside tampering deterrent.

However, the gr-rard ower at the entrance o theinstall:rtion compound is unusual. If it is a guardtower, why? \fhat for? These seem o be ratherover-elaborate security measures or somewhere nthe rniddle of nowl.rere!

"I t also hacl a manually operated swivelmounted micro-transceiver dish attached o thetower. \fhat is this for? And why at thisinstallation? The masts hemselves ppear to be ofa standard yp e. The satellite micro-transceiver

dishes are commonplace and don't indicateanything other than a high siting location."

My own calculations show the installation tostand on at least one powerful ley line, and inbetween two important alignment markers.

understand hat the object eventually changeddirection and headed owards Scammonden: hesame object was also been reported earlier thisyear, and seems o have cropped up in Liverpool.

'We stay in Greetland, but fast forward toDecember 27th 1995. Just as Mr Paul O'Malleywas about to turn hi s car into School Street he

noticed a large metallic object hanging in the sky.The object seemed o be changing shape. O'Malleyreported the sighting, but no further informationabout the case could be uncovered.

SJ ERl'llT|J R $0l'lERBMoving to Sowerby, Halifax, a large UFO wasseen on February 26th. The object was seen forabout half an hour, emitting pulses of white light. At around 9pm, people reported seeing a Tornadofighter heading towards the Sowerby area. Eyewitnesses claim that as the Tornado confrontedthe object, it shot off at a great speed, but didn'tmake any discernable sound.

On the 29th, a huge triangular-shaped objectwa s encountered by a single witness, who claimedthat the object first appeared travelling from theScammonden area and suddenly stopped andhovered above heir home. The object wasdescribed as being triangular in shape with about25 different coloured lights, and the witness couldonly compare it to something from Star Thek. TheUFO hovered above he house, about 10 metresabove the roof, for roughly five minutes. It thentook off again at great speed. Sadly, no

photographs were taken for the annals of Ufology.

RITERSE| | IBRTLSSince March 28th this year, many orange balls oflight have been spotted around the Scammondenarea (Australia is currently experiencing the samephenomena almost daily). Three members ofBEAMS decided to go up to Scammonden oinvestigate. About 30 minutes later they saw abright orange ball of light, moving at extremespeed owards where they'd parked their car.Suddenly he object stopped and started to danceup and down. The object, viewed throughbinoculars, was described as a perfect sphere. Thegroup attempted to initiate contact by flashingtheir headlights n the directio n of the object, butwithout success. Altogether, the sighting lasted forabout 10 minutes.

Just as the BEAMS members were about toleave, hey noticed that the object had reappearedover the Sowerby area. Again the object wasobserved through binoculars, only this time anorange tail of light was seen coming from it. Theobject then appeared to be writing symbols in thesky, shortly after which it stopped, changed shapeinto a triangle and disappeared .

Yet more was to happen that evening. As thegroup were driving home, they saw the objectagain reappear over Sowerby. This time itdemonstrated a new trick. It split into two redIights, which proceeded o dance around oneanother. Then there was a flash of violet lightbefore the object finally vanished. Again, the lackof a camera meant no photos were taken.

The first sighting was on Saturday 19th when ayoung couple reported that rhey had seen a roundobject with lights revolving around it. Theobject was covered in bright blue and green lights, which appeared to be flashing.

A-fter speeding up and slowing down, ir vanishedinto the only cloud in the sky. Five peoplewitnessed this strange phenomenon.

The following day the craft was seen again, andan orange ball of light has also been observed inBurnley and Pendle (a notorious window area inits own right).

Returning to the triangular object, it was seen n

Liverpool approximately three weeks ago. Therewere also traces of a possible landing by thisobject, but unfortunarely the landing site had beendisturbed by the first people to arrive at the site.Curiously, a duck was found nearby with itsbeak removed.
