To design a new print for

Page 3: Alice%20 forrester smith%20n-client%20presentation-4

1. When buying an item the design and print is what makes it appealing to the consumers. With the marketplace now having a vast amount of choice creating something which is unique and appealing to a target audience is increasingly important.

2. Kath Kidston is one of the original designers (1990s) who provided choice and colour to typically boring items.

3. Despite the increase in choice, her designs are still described as “fresh and witty” and I personally enjoy her designs.

Cath kidston is looking for a new design and it is for these reason I have chose this as my client

project.

To design one new conversational print.

It will take into account brand values and print style.

It will be important to remember the design will not appeal to all consumers.

WORKING WITH THE UNION JACK

I started looking at the London Underground and where that could take me and then the British countryside. The theme being British Travel.

Page 12: Alice%20 forrester smith%20n-client%20presentation-4

At this current stage I am happy where my project is going. I feel I have chosen a good subject that can be a conversational design and is working well at the moment however there is likely to be challenges along the way...

Would the repetition of a suitcase suit being on a bag???? The colours… are they Kidstons colours???

Researching Cath Kidston and brainstorming ideas….

Findings?? What does she use… what does she like????

Has Cath never used text before, would it work with other patterns she has? The colours bolder and brighter would customers like the change?
