Dear Alice Vail Parents, Teachers, Students and Community: Were in the last leg of this school year and before you know it summer will be here. But before everyone slips into vacation mode, we still have some great things happening at AVMS, like performances by the Band, Orchestra, Choir, and Musical Theater classes as well as 8th Grade Promotion. Also on the horizon is our Staff Appreciation Breakfast on May 5th where we treat our teachers and staff to tasty eats to thank them for their hard work and dedication. Please help us make the AVMS staff feel warm and fuzzy by donating some breakfast items or cash to help us buy supplies. Members of the PTSA have stepped up to fill board positions that will be vacated by outgoing 8th grade parents. However, there is still a need for a Secretary so if youre good at taking notes and want to be a hero by serving as our Secretary, please let us know! Happy to serve the AVMS community, your AVMS PTSA! WAYS TO HELP YOUR CHILD and SCHOOL SUCCEED

1. CREATE a TUSDStats Parental Account. Check your child's grades, attendance, learn about missing assignments. What you need to create an account: Student Matriculation Number & Confidential Access Code. This information is on the "TUSDStats Parental Access Information" sheet which can be printed for you in the front office. Parents/legal guardians must request/pick up this information in person. It cannot be requested over the phone or via email.

2. Become a member of the PTSA. Receive information about school activities. Our PTSA has provided parents, families and our school community with a powerful voice to speak on behalf of every child with one voice.

3. Attend School Community Partnership Council (SCPC) meetings. SCPC is a volunteer group of parents and staff of TUSD schools to facilitate communication between the school and the district. Meetings are open. The next meetings is April 18th. (More info at http://bit.ly/tusdscpc)
