The EU provides support to Algeria mainly through the European Neighbourhood Instrument with €241.3 million in the period 2014- 2020. Projects under the North of Africa window of the EU Emergency Trust Fund for Africa (EUTF Africa) in Algeria amount to €8.9 million. Algeria also benefits from other instruments and initiatives, such as the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights and the Civil Society Organisations-Local Authorities funded under the Development Cooperation Instrument, totaling around €8 million for 2014-2020. In 2018, EU Foreign Direct Investments stocks in Algeria amounted to €14.4 billion and Algerian FDI stocks in the EU to €1.3 billion.
