● The EU provides support to Algeria mainly through the European Neighbourhood Instrument with €241.3 million in the period 2014-2020.
● Projects under the North of Africa window of the EU Emergency Trust Fund for Africa (EUTF Africa) in Algeria amount to €8.9 million.
● Algeria also benefits from other instruments and initiatives, such as the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights and the Civil Society Organisations-Local Authorities funded under the Development Cooperation Instrument, totaling around €8 million for 2014-2020.

ALGERIA
The Commission mobilised over €79 million through its different instruments to support immediate, health-related and socio-economic needs in the country. Out of this, Algeria benefits from the EUTF Africa €10 million regional emergency response programme to coronavirus in North Africa. Targeted assistance will be provided to vulnerable migrants and refugees, including by supporting Algerian institutions and civil society organisations.

● The EU is Algeria’s main trading partner. In 2019, EU share in Algeria’s total imports was 57%, while the share of Algeria’s exports towards the EU was 41%. The EU-Algeria two-way trade in goods amounted to €33.2 billion.
● In 2018, trade in services between EU and Algeria amounted to €4 billion.
● In 2018, EU Foreign Direct Investments stocks in Algeria amounted to €14.4 billion and Algerian FDI stocks in the EU to €1.3 billion. EU FDI flows to Algeria were €1.6 billion and Algerian FDI flows to the EU totalled €100 million.
