I chose to redesign my favourite magazine “No Cure Magazine”. The magazine is based on artists and culture, with a twisted humor. I figured I would be able to show my skills best through redesgining this particular magazine. Using calligraphy, painting, water colours, ink and pen. I have produced a limited edition of a series 3 issues featuring typography, painting and spray paint.

THE SPRAY ISSUE:No Cure is all about educating people with the same creative interests, also helping those who are trying to get their special talents out there. Issue #1 revolves are street art, featuring (top to bottom) Mr. Penfold (UK), Beastman and Numskull. Street art started with a generally negative view, with messy tags and illegible words with too many arrows - I chose these three artists in particular to show the mature, clean and colourful aspect of graffiti. This issue was constructed with pencil base and acrylic paint , then transferred and edited in adobe.

THE PAINT ISSUE:The Paint Issue #2 features (top to bottom) Erik Jones (NY), Anya Brock and Hollie Martin - I wanted to keep this cover fun and fresh, choosing three different artists with completely different styles. Even though the words are all very different I used their use of bold and bright colours to tie them in together. I used pen, acrylic and watercolour for each different word, lastly trasnferring and editing them onto the cover.

THE TYPE ISSUE:For this issue I chose typography a monochromatic colour way with a sublte paper background. The Type Issue #3 features (top to bottom) Gemma O’brien, Jasmine Dowling and Seb Lester (UK). I wanted to keep this issue especially, very clean and simple with the detail as the star. This was slightly harder to tie in together once again with three completely different styles, for the cover I used pens, brush and ink and a calligraphy pen, transferring and editing them onto the cover.

Apart from the covers and backgrounds I have kept the rest of the details the same bringing consistency throughout the series. I chose a distinct colour for the spine, using the same general content on the spine for their past issues so that it will tie in to the other issues.The main stamp was also altered for the ltd ed series, featuring a different number out of 3 per issue.

For the back of the issues I kept it simple and straight forward. Every issue has nocuremagazine.com located up top center - same as their back issues, also along with the bottom barcode and basic issue details. I chose to carry the main background onto the back cover for each issue, with only the simple detail of the first front cover artists aswell as the rest featured in that particular issue.
