• I learned the outline through all of the assignments.

• It is something that I will use in all future writing projects.

Module 12: Persuasive Messages

• I learned:

– Know your audience’s stance on the subject

– Don’t allow for an immediate NO to the proposal

– There are different strategies

• Direct request

• Problem Solving

• Subject lines are tedious

How?

• I learned this through:

– One Campus One Book Committee Assignment

• Three books suggested for Fall 2014 Freshmen

– Future requests in business settings

• Now I know how to write to my benefit

Use:

• Persuasive messages can be used in daily life:

– Emails

– Letters to Professors

– Writing to professionals

– Requesting from a superior

Social Media:

Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow:

Social Media

• Some people don’t want to admit it, but social media is here to stay.

– It is the FUTURE

– Communication

– Instantaneous

– Gratification

Social Media Generation:

• Us students are the social media generation.

– Second nature

– Changing every day

– How WE are reached

Use?

• Social Media is used every day by almost EVERY college student.

• This is a fact and learning how businesses have adapted to this shows the future of technology.

• Millions can be reached in seconds.

• Information can either make or break a business/individual.

Dangers:

• Social media can be the downfall to a business:

– Example “ The Fail Trial: Understanding 3 Social Media Crises”

• Perfect example of backfiring social media

Social Media

• Has been, is, and will be a part of my future career in any field.
