FRANCIS WILSON 2019 Candidate for AmSoc Board of Directors I have lived in Panama for the past 7 years serving with my husband Vernon as a Volunteer Missionary with the US Episcopal Church. Prior to moving to Panama, we lived in Belize for 12 years where we oversaw the building of Holy Cross Anglican School in San Pedro. My responsibilities there included raising the funds necessary for construction (almost one million US dollars over a 6 year period); securing and coordinating hundreds of volunteer mission teams that actually built the school; and, interfacing with the Ministry of Education and the Diocese of Belize in developing the curriculum, planning the physical layout and recruiting staff. The school currently provides a preschool, kindergarten and primary education for almost 500 of Belize's most disadvantaged children. I continue to serve on the Holy Cross Foundation Board and am active in securing scholarship funding for graduates of Holy Cross who would otherwise be unable to afford high school. Over 200 young people are furthering their education due to assistance from this scholarship program. I am originally from Virginia where I grew up in the rural Appalachian town of Marion. I graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1971 with a BA in Government and lived much of my adult life in the Tidewater area where I was active in numerous community based volunteer organizations. My professional life focused on public relations and marketing and my last employment was with the Dallas based company, Consultants in Relocation, as their Director of Development. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Vernon, for 33 years, am the proud mother of 3 children, have 8 grandchildren and two adorable 'fur children'. Since moving to Panama I have been actively involved with the Cathedral of St. Luke where I served on the Vestry, work with outreach programs and teach Bible study classes. I volunteer with SpayPanama, participate with two Book Clubs, work with the Fundacion el Cano, am a member of the CanadaPlus Club, the Navy League and the Ancon Theater Guild. I also assist my husband with his numerous activities which include Vision of Hope, a training program for the visually impaired which focuses on self-sufficiency through the making and marketing of jewelry. When we moved to Panama I was most interested in becoming part of the community and continuing my modest efforts to help 'make the world a better place'. Fortunately, the American Society was one of the first groups we encountered. Since joining I have been nourished by the warm fellowship offered and inspired by the active role the Society plays in many social/educational/community arenas. I have been honored to serve on the Board of the American Society for the past two years and am hoping to continue dedicating my time and talents to the worthwhile activities of this incredible organization.

FRANCIS WILSON: Hoping to be re-elected🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

HERBERT HARMOND SR. AMSOC BOARD CANDIDATE 2019

I have been a member of the American Society of Panama for many years, and have previously served on the board; however, I feel it is time I became more active in the organization again, and serving on the Board of Directors is the best way to do so. Therefore, I ask you to vote for me.

I began my career as a Canal Zone Federal Police Officer in 1970 and stayed in that position until 1982, when the Canal Zone Police Division was disestablished due to the Torrijos/Carter treaties on March 31, 1982. That same year I was selected to serve in the Coordination Office directly related to treaty affairs. Due to political circumstances, the office name changed to the Liaison Office, and my title to Liaison Services Specialist. Due to a Reduction-In-Force from within, I became a Canal Security Guard and later a trainee in the Occupational Health Division. I regained the title as Liaison Services Specialist in 1987, and served in this capacity until my retirement in 1998.

In June 1999, I firmed my own security business and served as the CEO at Harmond & Asociados, S.A., until 2007, and due to reorganization, the business was renamed to H & A Security, S.A., until the present.

While on the board of directors of the Asociacion de Proprietario de Inmuebles de Panama (API) in July 2009, I was designated representative for the Consejo Nacional de la Empresa Privada (CoNEP), at the Juntas de Conciliacion y Decision, of the Ministerio de Trabajo y Desarrollo Laboral (MITRADEL). I still hold this 3-month designation until reappointment by CoNEP.

In addition to the above, I have served in various capacities in the following organizations: The American Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Panama; the Camara de Comercio e Industrias de Panama; and The Afro-Panamanian Chamber of Commerce (CAMCAP).

I would again like to serve on the Board of the American Society of Panama, and help the Society foster good relations between Panama and the United States, and assist in the Society`s charitable and scholarship programs.

Please vote for me.
