Kansas City Royals All-Star Alex Gordon Joins the Fight Against Pediatric Brain Cancer

ATKINSON, Nebr. – The Team Jack Foundation is honored to announce that Kansas CityRoyals left-fielder Alex Gordon has joined the fight against pediatric brain cancer by becoming thelatest to join the “Team Jack All-Stars.” Gordon, who was recently selected to play in Major LeagueBaseball’s All-Star Game, is supporting the fight by allowing the Team Jack Foundation to createa brain cancer awareness t-shirt bearing his name. Proceeds from the sale of the shirt will supportpediatric brain cancer research.

Gordon was motivated by Jack’s run to get involved in the fight against pediatric braincancer.

"I have followed Jack's story from the day I saw his infamous touchdown run in MemorialStadium and I was extremely moved,” said Alex Gordon. “He inspires me everyday to go out andwork hard in everything I do. Jack has been a leader for thousands of others affected by pediatricbrain cancer, and I just wanted to do anything I could to help the fight."

The Team Jack Foundation was founded by the family of Jack Hoffman, the 7-year oldNebraska boy who is best known for his friendship with Rex Burkhead and his 69-yard touchdownrun at the Nebraska 2013 Spring Game.

“It is such an incredible blessing to have Mr. Gordon working with the Team JackFoundation,” said Andrew J. Hoffman, chairman of the Team Jack Foundation. “His involvementmeans so much to this devastating disease. He is helping bring pediatric brain cancer awareness toan even bigger audience. This means so much to so many families.”

Other Team Jack All-Stars with t-shirts includeNdamukong Suh (Detroit Lions), Rex Burkhead (Cincinnati Bengals), Lindsey Moore (MinnesotaLynx), Bo Pelini (Nebraska Cornhuskers), Danny Woodhead (San Diego Chargers), and Jared Crick(Houston Texans).

The Team Jack Foundation’s primary focus is to raise money for pediatric brain cancerresearch. As of January 2013, the Team Jack movement had invested nearly $300,000 in pediatricbrain cancer research.
