Christmas is Coming…. Yes I said it…Christmas is just around the corner. Kathy will

decorate our home on November 12th , (after Remembrance Day) I will start drinking egg

nog and most of all, I get to listen to all the Christmas Carol’s in the malls! Does that

sound exciting…plus we are looking at lots of snow this year. Perhaps, I will buy some

winter tires for the bike, what do you think? Please facebook your thoughts to me!

Now that you think your Pastor has gone crazy,( which is not hard to believe), I want to encourage you to

think a little more of Christmas this coming year. The theme of our Christmas season is called, “Home for

Christmas”…it promises to be filled with a great deal of activity, food and friends. Coming home to Christ-

mas…sounds so wonderful!

But until then, we will continue the series on James. It is such a good practical book of the Bible. I hope

that you are enjoying it, as much as I am studying and preparing. Faith with works produces some very

good fruit. I continue to encourage you to pick up James and read it through a few times and let it settle on

your heart.

Lastly, please continue to pray for our church. We are adding new members, baptizing people and will have

a few special events like the Fall tea….then we can start singing…Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it …well, you

know, JOIN ME…

Looking forward to being home with you at Christmas! PB and Kathy

A Christian’s stance on war is merely personal conviction.

Throughout the Bible, you will find war. The Old Testament has God leading

the charge in many wars. In Revelation, it talks about a just but bloody battle

to end all battles. (Rev 19:11-21) God’s people cannot escape war.

Then you have the pacifism in the Bible. Matthew chapter 5 talks about being blessed as a

peacemaker (5:9), loving your enemies (5:44) and not taking revenge (5:39). Jesus stopped

his disciple from killing (Luke 22:49-51) and there is so much more. God’s people cannot es-

cape peacemaking.

Both sides are able to justify their stance but ultimately, war is a result of sin. God deals

with sin.

Whether you are pro-war or against it, the soldiers, our brothers and sisters have given their

lives. November is a time where we honour our soldiers past and present. Let’s unite in be-

ing thankful, in remembrance and praying that “God keep our land”.

#CanadaStrong,

Tony Mejia

Step #1: HONESTY

Principle #1: We admitted we were powerless over our addictions and compulsive behaviors, that

our lives had become unmanageable.

John 8:31-32 states: “Jesus said to the people who believed in Him, ‘You are truly my disciples if

you keep obeying my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Living in denial is living dishonestly. How many times have we lied to ourselves saying, ‘I can stop

any time I want to!’ or ‘I have the right to choose how I live my life!’ or ‘my behavior doesn’t affect

anyone but me!’ Ironically, as we asserted our freedom to live as we choose, we soon lose the free-

dom to choose anything other than our dependency; we become enslaved to it.

The spiritual forces that sway our lives have root in either truth or deceit. Truth leads to freedom;

deceit leads to bondage and death. Denial is a lie that keeps us in slavery. When we are a slave to

our hurts, habits or hang-ups, we lose the right to choose any other way of life. It is only when we

break the cycle of denial and become brutally honest about our bondage that there is any chance

for real freedom.

If you are looking a safe place to make a change in your life, then join us Thursday’s at 7 pm

where we believe that healing comes in the sharing.
