Born in the United Kingdom, Paul spent the last 20 years living and working as a wildlife and travel photographer in East and Central Africa. His work has been widely published and he has several wildlife and travel photography books demonstrating the breadth of his photography knowledge and diversity of his life experiences. At the very heart of his photography is an exuberant passion for Africa and having travelled extensively throughout the East African region, Paul is fluent in Swahili and has an insightful perception of local cultures. He also has a deep and passionate interest in wildlife and birdlife adding an extra dimension to the photographic angle he brings. In addition to his photography, Paul has also set up a number of very successful charitable organisations. In Uganda, Paul worked with street children and set up the Tigers Football Club (www.retrak.org). In Tanzania he started the Goat Races (www.goatraces.com), which has become an annual fixture and raised more than $600,000 over the past 10 years. In 2004 he established Wonder Workshop (www.wonderwelders.org), which enables handicapped men and women to produce highly commercial creative metal artwork, wooden toys, recycled paper products, and handmade soap, which are now taking commissions from around the world. Recently he was awarded an MBE for his work in helping the lives of the marginalised of East Africa. This safari has been specially designed with the help of Paul, to have a mix of the old school safari experience of a by-gone era, staying in a luxury tented safari accommodation, bringing you closer to the African bush, as well as combining the more permanent boutique safari lodges. Also the location of each property is important to maximise on the scenery of each area as well as ensuring an area teeming with wildlife. The safari will start in Arusha, the safari capital of Tanzania, where you will meet Paul for dinner. You continue your journey to Ngorongoro, often described as the 8th Wonder of the World. It is the largest unbroken calderer in the world and offers some amazing views as well as an incredible concentration of wildlife on the floor of the crater. You will then spend 6 nights in two locations of the Serengeti, arguably Africa’s premiere wildlife park, ending in the Northern Serengeti, along the banks of the Mara River. Here you will get to witness one of nature’s most spectacular natural events, the great migration; the mass movement of over a million wildebeest as they attempt to cross the crocodile infested Mara River As this is a photographic safari, we will ensure that there is only a maximum of 3 people per vehicle allowing plenty of room for individuals to get set for the perfect shot. Paul will be hosting you throughout and sharing with you all his expertise in getting the perfect shot. In the evenings there will be plenty of time to go through with Paul on the photos you have taken and getting tips on editing. We will mix the photographic experiences from wildlife, cultural and landscapes allowing for a well rounded photographic experience. We look forward to welcoming you on this trip, but please book soon as we only availability for 6 people on the trip.

Day 2 Saturday, 17 September 2016 After breakfast, depart with packed lunch, and drive to Lake Manyara National Park.

Lake Manyara National Park is small compared to Tanzania’s other parks. At only 330 km2 it fits neatly into the Great Rift Valley, it is the real Cinderella of Tanzanian parks. This park is often overlooked and underrated but this gem was described by Ernest Hemingway as ‘the loveliest place I have ever seen’. The shallow alkaline lake is often covered by resident flamingos and whatever the park lacks in size it makes up for in diversity. Apart from the lake and the many lions that roam the park, there is an expanse of tropical jungle filled with troops of baboons and other occupants of the rainforest. Large herds of buffalos and zebras wander on the plains and in the distance are the ever present jagged peaks of volcanoes.

Accommodation: Lemala Ngorongoro Camp - Luxury Tent (Full Board)

Lemala Ngorongoro is an intimate seasonal camp set in a delightful ancient acacia forest on the rim of the crater, the camp offers accommodation in 9 spacious canvas tents ensuring intimacy and minimal impact on the pristine forest environment. The roomy en-suite bathrooms contain a dressing area, flush toilet and a large safari shower. The mess tent is beautifully furnished with grand sofas, lamps, bookshelves and corner cabinets in old wood, chests and rugs. In the evening, guests gather around the campfire for cocktails before dining under chandeliers with the camp manager. The camp works closely with the local Masai community and often there are dances and talks on Masai traditions and ceremonies providing guests the opportunity to interact with the tribe.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area Established in 1959, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area was established as a multiple land use area, with wildlife coexisting with semi-nomadic Maasai pastoralists practicing traditional livestock grazing. It spans vast expanses of highland plains, savanna, savanna woodlands and forests and includes the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. The conservation area is alive with wildlife and the crater floor is dominated by a huge flamingo-filled alkaline lake

Day 3 Sunday, 18 September 2016 To take full advantage of your time here, we recommend an early breakfast and an early start. Today, you will spend the day on an extended game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater with a picnic lunch in search of the many species that populate this UNESCO World Heritage Site including wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, black-maned lion, leopard and hyena. The major advantage of staying at Lemala Ngorongoro is the camp’s prime location offering guests quick and easy access (10 to 15 minutes) to the crater floor. Descend into the sunken cone of the Ngorongoro Crater and enjoy a full-day game drive along the crater floor. The crater’s high walls serve as a natural enclosure for an abundance of wildlife. All the so-called "big five' may be seen. Among the notable birds are Lammergeyer, Vereaux's Eagle and Egyptian Vulture, which make their home in the highest of the crater wall, the beautiful Rosy-breasted Longclaw, which appears on the plains after rains and flocks of lesser and Greater Flamingos which are spasmodic visitors to the crater lakes. Return to camp before sunset in time to enjoy sundowner cocktails and stunning views from the crater rim before freshening up and sitting down to your last dinner in the Ngorongoro. Accommodation - Overnight at Lemala Ngorongoro Camp - Luxury Tent (Full Board)

Day 4 Monday, 19 September 2016 After breakfast, you will depart for Serengeti National Park. Visit one of the world's most important prehistoric sites, Olduvai Gorge, for a tour and lecture. Learn how the gorge was vital in establishing the African origin of humankind and in turn, why it is referred to as the 'Cradle of Mankind'. Today you will arrive at your Private Luxury Camp that has been setup exclusively for your group. You will have the rest of the day at leisure to settle in. An evening game drive is a good way to get to know your surroundings and later enjoy a quiet evening by the camp fire. Accommodation: Private Luxury Mobile Camping - Luxury Tent (Full Board)

Private, exclusive mobile camping in its purest form is widely recognised as providing the most authentic of Safari experiences. Unlike staying in hotels and lodges, it enables you to blend in with and become part of the environment you wish to experience. And once you depart there is little, if any evidence of your visit aside from your cherished memories and the pictures which you take away with you to enjoy for many years to come. With spacious and comfortable accommodation you will share one of life’s truly unique experiences together as a group of friends wanting to take time out in your very own special space.

Serengeti National Park The Serengeti is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park. Its name means 'endless plain' in the Masai language. It is from here that massive concentrations of wildebeest, zebras and other animals commence the annual Great Migration in search of pastures new, providing one of the greatest natural spectacles to be found anywhere in the world. You can watch golden-maned lions stalking the migrating

herds, spot leopards at rest in trees at dusk and take a hot-air balloon tour at dawn as the sun’s golden rays illuminate the land.
