Alatas Hong Kong

Alatas has been in Hong Kong since 2005 and we are providing technical services to owners and operators of deck-cranes, offshore-cranes, mobile cranes and construction cranes.

Our workshop is set up to give us the flexibility to provide repairs for components of cranes in the shortest possible time and to get cranes back into operation a.s.a.p.

This is complemented by our on-site service team performing installations, trouble-shooting and testing on site, around the clock, in and out of Hong Kong.

Where spare parts are required we have our dedicated spare parts sourcing team and a network of Alatas service stations all over the world with established connections to many of the major component makers.

Alatas operates according to Total Quality Management (TQM) principles

This means we have documented working procedures for everything we do and we continuously improve these procedures

It also means that we test every repair before delivery

Hydraulic Repairs

Alatas Hong Kong’s Hydraulic Workshop is fully equipped with an automated test-stand capable of testing pumps and motors up to 200kW.Also automated are our lapping tables, this ensures that otherwise tedious manual work is completed by machines and to the highest possible standards.

We only use original spare parts for our repairs and overhauls and with a exstensive stock of spares we can also offer short turnover times of 1 to 2 days.

With base units for many common pump and motor models in stock, along with the necessary parts to configure most variations, we are able to offer very short delivery times for complete units.

In addition to axial piston units we repair radial piston units, vane type units, valves and valve blocks.

We repair components from the following makers using only original spare parts.

Electronic Components Repair

In the electronic repair workshop we repair everything “electronic”.

This includes PCB’s from control systems for cranes, but also standard electronics like Amplifiers, DC/DC Converters, Power Supplies, PLC cards, Variable Frequency Drives.

Our state of the art diagnostic equipment allows us to perform:

• VI tests (active and passive components)

• Circuit tracing

• Identification of IC’s and CPU’s from a library of over 50,000 elements

• Comparison of PCB response to previous tests

• Thermographic imaging for temperature related matters

PCB’s will also be renewed by shot-blasting and applying new lacquer to reinstate the insulation properties.

Repairs will be tested on simulators or in bench tests and a repair report will be available.

Thermographic imaging is used to diagnose heat-related problems.

Gearbox Repairs Specialist

Successful gearbox repairs and overhauls require high standards of workmanship and a strict attitude to quality.

We have the expertise, flexibility and the tools to carry out such professional repairs of gearboxes.

In our gearbox workshop we repair:

• Winches• Distributor gearboxes• Travelling gearboxes• Slewing gearboxes• Torque Converters• Rotators and Swivel Joints

Where original gearbox spares are not available anymore, we can provide high quality replacements from our precision machining shop in Europe.

Frequently a problem are damages to cast gearbox housings, in such cases we will be able to offer a welding construction as a replacement.

SPARE PARTS SUPPLY BY A WELL CONNECTED SOURCING TEAM

ENGINEERING & DESIGN

Our spare parts engineers are able to supply hydraulic parts, mechanical parts and electronic parts from around the world. With a network of global offices we can source “locally”. Established relationships with most components manufacturers speed up communication and the offering process.

Where replacements are needed we can involve our experts in each field for technical advice. Parts supply includes complete booms and operators cabins, joysticks and limit switches, track parts and load moment limiting systems, engines and wire ropes.

Our Design Team in Austria is able to carry out structural calculations and FEM-analysis for new designs, modifications, structural repairs and welding procedures. Compliant with class requirements.

We also offer consultative advice and re-certification.

In addition to our structural design team are our experts for hydraulic system, new designs, modification and control system specialists. Allowing us to meet our clients needs when it comes to flexible and professional technical solutions.

Our Service Engineers can attend on-site to Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic problems at short notice. They are experienced in Trouble-shooting, On-site Repairs, Regular Inspection Regimes and Large Scale Commissioning Projects.

In line with our quality policies we prepare detailed Service Plans for larger scale projects and Regular Inspection Schemes.

We have mobile oil filtering systems, remote control load cells, data-logging tools and various bolt tensioning tools available, designed for on-site use.
