DETAILS ABOUT YOUR SEA KAYAKING IN AIALIK BAY

ALL PADDLERS MUST INDIVIDUALLY COMPLETE A CLIENT INFORMATION FORM and return to us four weeks prior to your trip. Please access this form at: http://www.sunnycove.com/GDClientForm.html . We also ask that you take the time to read over our Acknowledgment of Risks form. All participants will be required to sign this form prior to departure. Please be aware we will be in a remote setting and medical assistance is not readily available. You can access the form through our website or at: http://www.sunnycove.com/Assets/Acknowledgment.pdf

The charter boat will transport us to Aialik Bay within Kenai Fjords National Park allowing us to stop and view the abundant wildlife as it presents itself to us (whales, Orcas, seals, sea lions, puffins, eagles, porpoise and more)

All of the kayaks are tandems (2 person)

We will launch our kayaks and paddle amidst some of the most spectacular scenery in Kenai Fjords National Park. Crackling icebergs, towering glaciers and more wildlife will stun our senses as we paddle the afternoon before re-boarding our charter boat for our return trip to Seward. Lunch will be enjoyed on the boat.

7:45AM: Arrive at the Adventure Center located at the Seward Small Boat Harbor.

8:00AM: Depart Seward Small Boat Harbor for sightseeing/wildlife cruise to Aialik Bay.

11:00 AM – 3:00 PM: Enjoy a picnic-style lunch aboard the boat, receive kayaking instruction on a local beach, then paddle approximately 2.5 hours among the bergie bits of Holgate Glacier. The charter boat will pick us up at the end of our kayaking tour nearer the glacier

6:00 - 6:30PM: Depending on whales and weather - Seward Small Boat Harbor.

Please dress in warm layers (polypro, capilene, synthetics or fleece – best to avoid cotton and jeans). Wear warm socks, warm hat and gloves for the boat ride and please bring a waterproof rain jacket and rain pants. These are important for keeping warm on the boat ride as well as keeping dry. Feel free to bring a small pack with your personal gear such as extra socks, a water bottle, binoculars, camera and a sense of adventure.

8

Rainy day paddling can be great fun when you are prepared. We will provide rubber boots and pogies (neoprene mitts that attach to the paddle to keep your hands warm and dry). You may wish to bring an extra set of clothing to change into after your paddle. We will provide a dry bag for your camera and personal gear while kayaking.

Kayaking is an active sport and requires full participation by each paddler. Due to kayak/gear limitations, participants should not exceed 6 feet 6 inches, 250 lbs or a waist size of 44 inches. Please contact us if you have any physical limitations or medical conditions that could affect your ability to participate in this group tour.

Planet Earth Adventures contracts with some of the best guides in the industry. Our kayaking guides enjoy sharing this beautiful place with you and strive to make each kayak tour unique and fun.
