Construction Project Manager responsible for the delivery of schemes being involved from feasibility to delivery and post completion. Delivered in excess of 25 Convenience stores, 10 per year, including Developer Shells, conversions and refurbishments.

Responsible and accountable for the budget of each individual scheme ranging from £500k to £2.5 milllion.

Extensive exposure to full project life cycle and experienced in scope planning, schedule development as well as progress monitoring and reporting.

Managing a team of around 20 design and construction professionals for each individual project. Instrumental in a trial of a “natural for neutral” eco store in a prestigious location by effectively

managing specialist teams. Skilled in both customer and stakeholder management. Responsibility for sourcing and managing specialist contractors and suppliers. Involved in the

tenders of a number of projects. Strong commercial and business awareness with the ability to influence and construct an engaging

business case. Committed to best practice working methodologies maintaining consistently high standards of

safety. Fully conversant with risk assessment and mitigation techniques. Project managed the design and implementation of a temporary petrol filling station. This initiative

was a first in the retail business and was so successful that a second one was purchased. Identified sites where incremental sales would be achieved by redeveloping and re-designing sites. Reduced model costs at petrol developments by circa 15% through design and best practice. Improved build times averaging approximately 2 weeks to become best in market by working closely

with contractors and consultants. Working with our environmental consultant successfully resolved any environmental issues. This

included meeting with local Environmental Health Officers so maintaining good public relations and severe financial penalties were mitigated.

Trading Commercial Finance Manager Trading 2005 - 2006

Following a major company re-structure this role was created to support the Trading Director and Business Unit director in all financial aspects. Providing complex analysis on key areas of the Trading Division from both a profit and operational basis

Full profit and loss accountability for business unit with a turnover of circa £2.5 billion. Analysis of market trends and advising of profitability for any promotional activity. Providing detailed financial support to ensure maximization of margin.

Feasibility Manager Store Development 2004 - 2005

Challenged design and building methodology to significantly reduce costs. Annual savings estimated to be circa £2 million. Reported on the practicality of delivering the identified investment proposals.

Responsible for developing the viability of potential investments in retail properties ensuring they deliver internal and external customer benefits resulting in the maximum return in investment. The capital value of these projects ranged from £0.5-£50 million.

Develop and issue store specific design briefs to external consultants and internal store planners. Manage cross-functional teams consisting of Store Managers, Project Managers, Surveyors,

Architects and Cost Consultants. Identify capital and operational trade offs to deliver the optimum return on capital

New Space Investment Manager – Manage and prepare 3 investment papers per week for presentation to the Investment Board. Reduced time in the approval process by cross- functional working.Supermarkets Format Analyst – Analysis of financial and operational performance using benchmarking techniques.
