• Our state has many different kinds of landforms.
• The green areas on the map are the lowest points.
• The brown areas on the map are the highest points.

1. Located in the northwestern corner of Alabama
2. Land is hilly
3. It is to the west of the Appalachian Mountains

region-
1. Located southeast of the Highland Rim
2. Has plateaus, which are large areas of flat land that are higher than the land around it
3. It has the Appalachian Mountains

2. Jagged and uneven land
3. It has valleys and sharp mountain ridges

• There is now less farmland, and forests are being cut down to make new houses
• There are groups in Alabama that are trying to conserve, or save, our natural environment
