All praise and thanks belong to Allah and Swalaat us Salaam are upon our
Rasoul (s).
In this publication, we will try to elaborate and learn on the articles of faith.
One of the famous ’Ulama / scholars who have contributed to this topic is
Imaam At Twahaawiy (ra). We will be using his work known as Al ‘Aqeedat
ut Twahaawiyyah).

We say about Allah's unity, believing
by Allah's help that:
َف ََ ُقولَُن َ دَ َ اللَ َ يدَ ت ْوحَ ي ،ُمْعت ق َ ين َاللَ ب َ ت ْوف يق
1. Allah is One, without any partners. َ َإ ََ ىال َت عَ َ اللَ ن د َ اَل َ َ و اح يك ر ل ُه، ش 2. There is nothing like Him. َل ا و ََ يْء ثْلُُه، ش م 3. There is nothing that can
overwhelm Him. َل اَ و َ يْء ُزهُ، ش يُْعج 4. There is no god other than Him. َغ يُْرهُ، َ هَ إ ل ََ ل ا و 5. He is the Eternal without a
beginning and enduring without end. َ َق يْم اٍء، ل اَب َ َ د ََ ابْت د ه اٍء، ب ل اََ د ائ م نْت ا6. He will never perish or come to an
end. َ ُد،يَْي بَ َ ل ا وَ َ ي ْفن ىَ ال 7. Nothing happens except what He
wills. َاَ إ ل اََ ي ُكوُنََ ل ا و يَْ م ُد،يُر 8. No imagination can conceive of
Him and no understanding can
comprehend Him.
لْأ ْوه اُم،َ ت ْبلُُغهَُ َ ال َ ََ ل ا وَ َ ا ُكُه تُْدر َْ ل َأ فْه اُم،ا

9. He is different from any created being. َلْأ ن اُمَ ُهُهَتُْشبَ َ ل ا و ا10. He is living and never dies and is
eternally active and never sleeps. َ ي ُموُت، َ ل ا ََ ي َح ََ ي ن اُم، ل اََ ق ي ُوم 11. He creates without His being in
need to do so and provides for His
creation without any effort.
َخَ ٍة، َ ب ل اَ ال ق اج ََ ح از ق َ ل اب َ َ ل ُهْمَ َ ر ُمْؤن ٍة،
12. He causes death with no fear and
restores to life without difficulty. ََُم يَْم اف ٍة،َ ل اب ََ ت ََ م خ ث ق ةٍَ َ ل اب َ َ ب اع .م ش 13. He has always existed together
with His attributes since before
creation. Bringing creation into
existence did not add anything to His
attributes that was not already there.
As He was, together with His
attributes, in pre-eternity, so He will
remain throughout endless time.
َزَ َامَ ت هَ بَ ال ا ف يًماَََ ص .َل ْمَق د ه لْق َخ ق ْبل َ ْمَب َ ي ْزد ْد ه ْيئًَ ك ْون َاش ُهْمََ ل ْمَي ُكْنََ َ ق ْبل
، ت ه ا ف ْنَص ََ اك مَ وَ َ م ت هَ بَ َ ك ان ا ف ا ص ل ي ً ََ أ ز َ َك ذ الََُ ل ك ي ًََ ع ل ْيه ا َ ل اَي ز اأ ب د
14. It was not only after the act of
creation that He could be described
as "the Creator" nor was it only by the
act of origination that He could he
described as "the Originator."
َالَْل َ ل ق َخ َُمْنُذ َْيس َاْسم َاْست ف اد لْق خ ،َوَ الَْ ال ق ث هَ بـ اَل َ خ ا ي َالَْ إ ْحد َب ر َ ة اْست ف اد
َ ار يبَ الََْ اْسم 15. He was always the Lord even
when there was nothing to be Lord
of, and always the Creator even when
there was no creation.
ْعن ىَ هَُل َ ْربََُ ال َ وَ َ ةَ ي َ وب َبَُالر ََُ م ،َوَ م وب ْعن َ ي َ ىَالَْم ال ق ْخلَُ ال َ وَ َ ةَ خ ،م وق
16. In the same way that He is the
"Bringer to life of the dead," after He
has brought them to life a first time,
and deserves this name before
bringing them to life, so too He
deserves the name of "Creator"
before He has created them.
ََ م ْوت ىالَْ ُمْحي ـيََ هَُأ ن ََ ك م ا وَ َمَ َب ْعد اَ ق َاْست ح ََأ ْحي اُهْم، َْه ذ َال َاَ ا َ ْسم ق ْبل
َإ ْحيَ َك ذ ْم، َائ ه َ ل ك ق ََ اْست ح اْسم َالَْ ال ق ََ خ ْم، َ ق ْبل ائ ه إ نْش

17. This is because He has the power
to do everything, everything is
dependent on Him, everything is easy
for Him, and He does not need
anything. "There is nothing like Him
and He is the Hearer, the Seer." (al-
Shura 42:11)
َذَ َ َ ىع ل َ َ هَُأ ن َب ََ ل ك يْءٍَ كُل ،َوَ َ ش يْر َ ق د َ كُل َُإ ل ْيهَ يٍْء ،َ ش ير َ وَ ف ق ََ كُل ُ َ أ ْمٍر ع ل ْيه
َ ،ي س يْءٍََ إ ل ى ي ْحت اُجََ ال ََ ير ـََ .ش َيَْل س ََ ل هَ ك م ثَْ يْء َ وَ ش َ ُهو يَْالَْ ُعَم يَْالس رَُب ص
18. He created creation with His
knowledge. ََخ َالََْ ل ق لْق ،بـ َ خ لْم ه ع 19. He appointed destinies for those
He created. َو َ ََ ل ُهْمََ رَ ق د ،اارًَأ قْد 20. He allotted to them fixed life
spans. َو َ ب ر ًَآجَ َ ل ُهْمََ ض ل ا،ا21. Nothing about them was hidden
from Him before He created them,
and He knew everything that they
would do before He created them.
ََ ْمَل َ ََ ي ْخف َ ع ل ْيه يْء ْنَ ش ْمََ م ال ه أ فْع َ ُهْم،َ أ ْنَ ق ْبل ل ق َ وَ َ خ ا ع ل م َ ُهْمََ م
َ لُون ََ ع ام ُهْم، أ ْنَ ق ْبل ي ْخلُق 22. He ordered them to obey Him and
forbade them to disobey Him. َ وَ ُهْم ر َبَ أ م ه ت اع َ وَ ط اُهْم ْنَ ن ه َ ع
، ه ي ت م ْعص 23. Everything happens according to
His degree and will, and His will is
accomplished. The only will that
people have is what He wills for
them. What He wills for them occurs
and what He does not will, does not
occur.
يْءٍَ وَ َش يَ كُل ُ َب ََ ي ْجر ت ه يَْ وَ ُقْدر .َم ش ه ئ ت يَْ وَ يَْ ال َ ت ْنُفُذ،َوَ َ ئ ُتهَُم ش َم ش ب ادَ ئ ة َ ل لْع
اَ َإ ل ا اءَ م ََ ل ُهْم،َف م اَ ش اء َ ل ُهْمَ ش وَ َ ك ان ا أَْ ل ْمَ م .ي ُكْنَ ل ْمَ ي ش
24. He gives guidance to whomever
He wills, and protects them, and
keeps them safe from harm, out of
His generosity; and He leads astray
whomever He wills, and abases them,
and afflicts them, out of His justice.
ييَ ْنََ ْهد اُءَي َ م ُمَ وَ ش اف يَ َوَ َ ي ْعص يُع ْنَي َ اءَُم ََ وَ ف ْضلًا،ََ ش ل ُ ْنََ يُض اءَُي َ م وَ َ ش
ل يََ وَ َ ي ْخُذلَُ ع ْدلًا ي بْت

25. All of them are subject to His will
either through His generosity or His
justice.
َبَُل َُمت قَ َْمَهَُكُل َُ َوَ يََْ ىف ََ ون َ،م ش ه َب يََْ ئ ت َن َ ع ْدل هَ وَ ف ْضل ه
26. He is Exalted beyond having
opposites or equals. َو َ اٍلَ ُهو َ ُمت ع ن ََْ ع ل َا َْ َوَ ََادَ أ ْضد ل ادَ ا أ نْد 27. No one can ward off His decree
or delay His command or overpower
His affairs.
اد َ َ ال َ ،َوَ َر ائ ه َ اَل ََ ل ق ض ق ب ،َ ُمع َ وَ َ ل ُحْكم ه َل َ َْ اَغ ال ب ه ،ل أ ْمر
28. We believe in all of this and are
certain that everything comes from
Him.
ن اَآ َ م َب ذ ،َ ل ك َكُل ًا أ يْق ن اَ وَ َ كُل ه َ ْنَم َ أ ن هَ ْند ع
29. And we are certain that
Muhammad (may Allah bless him
and grant him peace) is His chosen
Servant and elect Prophet and His
Messenger with whom He is well
pleased,
َ وَ م َ َ إ ن َ َاًدَُمح ََ وَ َليهَ ع َ َاللََُ ىل َص مَل َس ْبُدُهَ ف ى،الَْ ع ُمْجت ب ى،َوَ الَْ هَُن بـ ي َُ وَ َ ُمْصط ُسولُهَُ ُمْرت ض ى،الََْ ر
30. And that he is the Seal of the
Prophets and the Imam of the god-
fearing and the most honoured of all
the messengers and the Beloved of
the Lord of all the worlds.
ت ُمَخَ ََْ ا ل اءَ بَ أ َۘنَْا اُمَ وَ َ ي ََْ إ م ل يَ ا ،َأ تْق وَ اء َ ي ُد ،الَْس ل ين بَ وَ ُمْرس َيَْح َ َُب ب َ ر
،الَْ ال م ين ع 31. Every claim to Prophet-hood
after Him is falsehood and deceit. َ وَ ةَ َ كُل ُ ٍةََ د ْعو َ نُُبو ت هَ َ ب ْعد وَ َف غ ي ََ نُُبو
ه و ى؛32. He is the one who has been sent
to all the jinn and all mankind with
truth and guidance and with light and
illumination.
َالََْ ةَ ع ام َ إ ل ىََ الْم ْبُعوُثََ ُهوَ وَ ن َك اف َ وَ َ ج ة َو ر ى،َا َالَْ َالَْب َ لم ْبُعوث ق ىالَْ وَ َ ح ُهد
33. The Qur'an is the word of Allah.
It came from Him as speech without
it being possible to say how. He sent
it down on His Messenger as
revelation. The believers accept it, as
َ وَ َالََْ إ ن ال ََ اللَ َ اُمَك ل ََ ُقْرآن َ َ ى،ت ع أ ب د ي َ ل َب َ ل هَُأ نَْ وَ ،ق ْولًاَ ةٍَاَك ْيف َن بَ ع ل ىََ ز ي ه

absolute truth. They are certain that it is, in truth, the word of Allah. It is not
created as is the speech of human
beings, and anyone who hears it and
claims that it is human speech has
become an unbeliever. Allah warns
him and censures him and threatens
him with Fire when He says, Exalted
is He: "I will burn him in the Fire."
(al-Muddaththir 74:26) When Allah
threatens with the Fire those who say
"This is just human speech" (74:25)
we know for certain that it is the
speech of the Creator of mankind and
that it is totally unlike the speech of
mankind.
َ و ْحًيا،َوَ د َالَْ ق ُهَص ع ل ىََ ُمْؤم ُنون َذَ ق ًا،َوَ ل ك َاللَ َ اُمَك ل َ َ هَُأ يْق ُنواَأ ن َ ح
ال ى .الَْب ََ ت ع يق ة ق ََ ح م ْخلُوٍقَب ََل ْيس َك ك ل َ ي َالََْ ام ،ب ر ََ ف م ْنََ ة َس م ع ُهَف ز َ م ع َ اُمَك ل ََ هَُأ ن َ ر ،َ ف ق ْدَ الب ش ق ْدَ وَ ك ف ر هَُذ َ وَ ع اب ُه،َ وَ َ ىال َت عَ َاللََُ م
هَُ َ أ ْوع د ْيُثَع ذ أُْصل يَْ :ق الَ اب ُه،َح َس ه رَ ق َس ََ ف ل م ا َ َاللََُ أ ْوع د ر ق َ إ ْنَ :ق الَ ل م ْنَ س اهَ رَ َ ق ْولََُ اإ ل ََ ذ َ ق ْولَُ ُهَأ ن َ اَع ل ْمنَ الْب ش
َ ال ق ،َالَْ خ ر َ ُهَق ْولَ يُْشبَ َ ال َ وَ ب ش ،الَْ ر ب ش
34. Anyone who describes Allah as
being in any way the same as a
human being has become an
unbeliever. All those who grasp this
will take heed and refrain from
saying things such as the unbelievers
say, and they will know that He, in
His attributes, is not like human
beings.
ْنَ وَ ََ م َالل ف ال ى و ص ًَب ََ ت ع َ َىم ْعن ْن م َ ر ان يَالب ش ع ،َ ف ق ْدَ م ََ ف م ْنَ ك ف ر ر أ بْص
،َوَ اَذ َهَ ْنَ اعْت ب ر ََ ع ََ م ثْل َُكف َ الَْ َق ْول ار ، ر ج نْز َ وَ ا َ ع ل م ال ىَ اللَ َ أ ن ت هَ بَ َ ت ع ا ف َ ص َ لََْ ل ْيس رَ ك ا .ب ش
35. The Seeing of Allah by the
People of the Garden is true, without
their vision being all-encompassing
and without the manner of their
vision being known. As the Book of
our Lord has expressed it: "Faces on
that Day radiant, looking at their
ََ ْؤي ةَُالر َُ وَ ق َل ََ ح ن َ أ ْهل َالج َب َ ة يْر غ ٍةَوَ اط ي َ َ ال َ إ ح ََ ك م ا ٍة،ك ْيف ق اُبََ بـ هَ َ ن ط ت َ ك ن اَ ـ ب ْيُثَق الَ ر :ح

Lord." (al-Qiyama 75:22-3) The explanation of this is as Allah knows
and wills. Everything that has come
down to us about this from the
Messenger, may Allah bless him and
grant him peace, in authentic
traditions, is as he said and means
what he intended. We do not delve
into that, trying to interpret it
according to our own opinions or
letting our imaginations have free
rein.
No one is safe in his religion unless
he surrenders himself completely to
Allah, the Exalted and Glorified and
to His Messenger, may Allah bless
him and grant him peace, and leaves
the knowledge of things that are
ambiguous to the one who knows
them.
ٍذَََ ُوُجوه َ ئ ة َن َ ي ْوم ر هاََ إ ل ى - اض ـ ب ة َ ر ر َن اظ َ وَ اَ ع ل ىََ يُرهَُت ْفس اد هَُ م ال ىَ الُلَ أ ر وَ ت ع
َوَ َ ع ل م ُه، ا َكُل ُ اءَ َ م َ ج َذَ ف ي َ ل ك ن م َالَْ يث د َ ح ْنَالص َع يح َاللَ َ ح ُسول َ ر
ْنَ وَ عليهَوسلمَ الل صلىَ ابـ هَ َ ع َ أ ْصح ْضواُنَ َ َاللَ َ ر ين ْمَأ ْجم ع ََ ع ل ْيه َ ك م ا ف ُهو ، ْعن اهَُ وَ ق ال ا وَ َ م يُرهَُع ل ىَم اد ،َل ََ ت ْفس َ اأ ر
َذَ َ ف يَ ن ْدُخُلَ َب َ ل ك ل ين أ و اَل َ ائ ن اَوَ آرَ ُمت َ ه م ين ائ نَ ب ََ ُمت و اف إ ن ََ ا،أ ْهو َم َف يَ ُه ل م س َإ ل َ ه ل ََاد ين َس ْن َ م َِل الىَوَ م ُسول هَ َت ع َ ل ر
د َ َيهعل صلىَالل َو ر َ َوسلمَ; اَ ع لْم م ََ اْشت ب هَ ،َ إ ل ى ع ل ْيه ع ال م ه
36. A man's Islam is not secure unless
it is based on submission and
surrender. Anyone who desires to
know things which it is beyond his
capacity to know, and whose intellect
is not content with surrender, will
find that his desire veils him from a
pure understanding of Allah's true
unity, clear knowledge and correct
belief, and that he veers between
disbelief and belief, confirmation and
denial and acceptance and rejection.
He will be subject to whisperings and
find himself confused and full of
doubt, being neither an accepting
believer nor a denying rejecter.
ُمَ اَي ْثُبُتَل َ وَ َْ ق د ل َا ْسلام ََ اَع ل ىإ ل ََ إ ْهر ظ َْسل َالت َ َْ وَ َ يم ل ،ْست ْسل َاَ ا َ ف م ْنَ ام ام َ ر
َ ا َم َ ع لْم ر ،ع َ ُحظ َ ي ْقن عََْ ل ْمَ وَ َ ل ْيه َْسل َالت َ ب َ بَ ف ْهُمُه،َ يم ج اُمهََُ هَُح ر ْنََ م َ ع
َ ال ص َوَ يَْْوحَ الت َ خ ، اف يَالَْ د ف ة ،ص َوَ م ْعر يَْ ح َص ََْ ح ل يَْا ،إ ََ م ان َبْذ َف ي ت ذ َ ُب ب يْن
َوَ الَْ ََُْكْفر ل ،ا يْم ان َوَ الت َ َوَ إ ، يب َْكذ َْ ل َا ار قْر َْ َوَ إ ل َمَُا ، نْك ار ًسَإ ْسو ا،َت ائ هًََ او

37. Belief of a man in the seeing of
Allah by the People of the Garden is
not correct if he imagines what it is
like or interprets it according to his
own understanding, since the
interpretation of this seeing or
indeed, the meaning of any of the
subtle phenomena which are in the
realm of Lordship, is by avoiding its
interpretation and strictly adhering to
the submission.
This is the religion of Muslims.
Anyone who does not guard himself
against negating the attributes of
Allah, or likening Allah to something
else, has gone astray and has failed to
understand Allah's glory, because our
Lord, the Glorified and the Exalted,
can only possibly be described in
terms of oneness and absolute
singularity and no creation is in any
way like Him.
ََ ال َ وَ ح ُ َْ َي ص ل يَْا َالر َُب َ م اُنَإ َْ ْؤي ة َل أ ْهل َ َ د ار َالس ََ لام َ َل م ن ه ا ْنُهْمَ اعْت ب ر َ م
ْهٍم،ب َ َت أ و َ َ و َأ ْو ا ْهٍم،ب ََل ه َ َ اإ ذ ََ ف َ يَْ َ ك ان يُلَ وَ َ ْؤي ةَ الر َُ ُلَت أْو َََ ت أْو َ كُل ًَ ْعن اُفَ ََىم َ َةَ ي َ بُوب َالر َََُ إ ل ىَ َيُض ت ْرك َيَْأْوَ الت َ ََ وَ ل ،الت َ لُُزوم ََ وَ َ ْسل يم ع ل ْيه
َالََْ د يُنَ لين ائ ُعََ وَ َُمْرس ر .بَ الن َ ش َ ي ـين ْنََ وَ َ َ ل ْمََ م ق َ ،ز ل َ َيهَ ْشبَ الت َ َوَ فْيَ الن َ َي ت و َ َ ل ْمََ وَ ب يه ؛الت َ يُص َ َ نْز ب ََف إ ن ل َر َوَ َناَج َع ل َ ْوُصوف َم َالَْبَ َا ف ات ن ي َ ص ا ْحد ،َو ة
َب َ ْنُعوت َالَْم ن ي َ ُنُعوت ْرد ا ،ف ََة َ ََ اهَُم ْعنَ ب َ َ ل ْيس د َ ََأ ح ن ي َالََْ َم ،ب ر ة
38. He is beyond having limits placed
on Him, or being restricted, or having
parts or limbs. Nor is He contained
by the six directions as all created
things are.
ال ىَاللَُت َ ََ ع ن ََ ع اي َالَْ َوَ َالُحُدود ،غ َوَ َ ات َْ ل َوَ أ ْرك َا ََْان ل ،َل َأ د وَ ا َالَْ َاات يه ه اُتَت ْحو ج
َ ت ُ ائ رَ َ َالس ع َالَََْ ك س َُمبْت د .ات 39. Al-Mi`raj (the Ascent through
the heavens) is true. The Prophet,
may Allah bless him and grant him
peace, was taken by night and
ascended in his bodily form, while
awake, through the heavens, to
whatever heights Allah willed for
اُجَالَْ وَ ََ م ْعر ق َ َ ق ْدَ وَ .َح ي أُْسر َب الن َ َوسلم بـ ي َعليه َالل وَ َ صلى
َ ج خَْب َ ُعر َش ه َ ص ة ََ إ ل ى ف يَالْي ق ظ ،الس َ م اء

him. Allah ennobled him in the way that He ennobled him and revealed to
him what He revealed to him, "and
his heart was not mistaken about
what it saw" (al-Najm 53:11). Allah
blessed him and granted him peace in
this world and the next.
َ ََ إ ل ىَ ثُم ْيُث َاللَُ ح اء ال ى ش ََ ت ع َ م ن هَُ وَ َ ُعل ى،الَْ م ،َ اللََُ أ ْكر اء ال ىَب م اَش ت ع
ه َ َ إ ل ىَ ف أ ْوح ى ْبد اَ ع اَکَ أ ْوح ى م َذ َ)م َ ب َمَ َ ادَُوَ فَُالَْ َف ََ ی(ا َرَ ا َهَ يَْل َع ََ اللَُ َىل َص َل َس َوَ َْ ف ىََ م ل َْ وَ َةَ رَ خَ آا ل َُا ىول َا
40. Al-Hawd, the Pool which Allah
has granted the Prophet as an honour
to quench the thirst of his
Community on the Day of
Judgement, is true.
ْوُضَ وَ ْيَال َ الْح هََُ ذ م ال ىَ اللََُ أ ْكر ََ ت ع بـ ه ًَ اث ي َْ اغ َأُم َ ل ه َََت ق ح
41. Al-Shafa`a, the intercession
which is stored up for Muslims, is
true, as related in the hadiths.
ََ َوَ ةَُالش ه اَاد َ ََت يَال َََ َف اع ر َ ََل ُهْمَََ َ اللَُ ََ خ َ َْ َََََف يَََْ ََك م اَُرو ي ل أ ْخب ارَ ا
42. The covenant which Allah made
with Adam and his offspring is true.
ْيَال ََ ََالْم ْيث اُقََ َوَ َ َََذ ذ ال ىَََ َاللَََُ ُهَأ خ ََ ت ع ْنَآدَ َم ََ َََع ل ْيهَ ََ َم ي َََ َ وَ َ َاُمَل َالس هَ ذُر َ َ ََت َ ق .ح
43. Allah knew, before the existence
of time, the exact number of those
who would enter the Garden and the
exact number of those who would
enter the Fire. This number will
neither be increased nor decreased.

44. The same applies to all actions
done by people, which are done
exactly as Allah knew they would be
done. Everyone is eased towards
what he was created for and it is the
action with which a man's life is
sealed which dictates his fate. Those
ََ َوَ َك ذ ال ُهْمََ َل ك َ ََف ْيم اَ ََ،أ فْع ْنُهْمَ َََع ل م ََم لُون هََُ ُهْمَأ ن َ ََ َوَ . ََي ْفع ََََ كُل ُ َُمي س اََ َر ََل م
َ َْ وَ َ . َل هَََُُخل ق ل َمَ اعَْا تيمََ الَص بالخوا

who are fortunate are fortunate by the decree of Allah, and those who are
wretched are wretched by the decree
of Allah.
ََ َو َ۔َ َ َْنَمَ ََ َيُدَعَ الس َعَ س َقَ ب ََ َد َ َاءَ ض َ الل بقضاء شقىَََ منَ ،َالشقىََاِل
45. The exact nature of the decree is
Allah's secret in His creation, and no
angel near the Throne, nor Prophet
sent with a message, has been given
knowledge of it. Delving into it and
reflecting too much about it only
leads to destruction and loss, and
results in rebelliousness. So be
extremely careful about thinking and
reflecting on this matter or letting
doubts about it assail you, because
Allah has kept knowledge of the
decree away from human beings, and
forbidden them to enquire about it,
saying in His Book, "He is not asked
about what He does, but they are
asked" (al-Anbiya' 21: 23).
Therefore, anyone who asks: "Why
did Allah do that?" has gone against
a judgement of the Book, and anyone
who goes against a judgement of the
Book is an unbeliever.
رَ َََأ ْصُلَََوَ ر ََََُالْق د ،َََف يََََاللَ َََس ه لْق ل ْمَََخ َ َذَ ََع ل ىَل ْعَي ط َََل ك ر َ ََ م ل ك ،َوَ ُمق َََال َََب َن بـ ي
َوَ . ل َُمْرس م َُالت َ َ َُقَع َوَ ََ َالن َ َ ُر َظ ََف يَََْذَ َل ك ةَُذ َ َ يْع َر ذل َالَََْ َوَ خ ، َان ََُمَُسل ََ
،َوَ ْرم ان َََالْح ُةَالط ُ ج َد ر َ.ََْغي ان ر ذ َف الْح َ َََكُل ر ذ ْنَذَ َالْح َم رًََََل ك ََأ ْوََََاف ْكرًَََأ ْوََََان ظ
ةًَ س َ ََ؛ و ْسو ال ىََْ اللَ َََف إ ن ْىََ َت ع و ََََ ط ََع لْم َ ر ْنََ َالْق د ، َََع ه َأ ن ام ََ وَ ََ ْنَ ََن ه اُهْمََ ََ ََع
َ ، ه ام ر َاك مَ م َ َ َالَ ق َََ َ َ َف َََ َ ي تَ َ َََال َ :ابـ هَ ك م َ َََ يُْسأ لَُ ُلَي ََ َاَع َيـُْسأ لََُ َُهْمَ ََوَ ََ ْفع ْون
َََ َف م ْنَ . :س َََ َأ ل ََ َل م ل ْدََََ ؟ ف ع د َ َََف ق َََر َ تَ ُحْكم َك ، ََاب ْنَََ وَ َََالل د َ َََ م ََ ََر َََُحْكم
تَ َك ََََ ىال َت عَ َاللَ َََ اب ََََ ك ان َاف رَ ك َالََْ ََم ن ين 46. This in sum is what those of
Allah's Friends with enlightened
hearts need to know and constitutes
the degree of those firmly endowed
with knowledge. For there are two
kinds of knowledge: knowledge
which is accessible to created beings,
and knowledge which is not
accessible to created beings. Denying
the knowledge which is accessible is
ْنََ َإ ل ْيهَ َ اُجَي ْحتَ َ اَمَ َ َُجْمل ةَُ ََاذ َهَ ف َ ََ م َ ُهو ْنََ ق لُْبهَُ ََرَ ُمن و َ ل يَ َ م َأ ْو ََوَ ََى،ال َت عَ َ َاللَ اء َ َ ه ي ةََُ ج خَ الر َ َ َد ر َاس ؛الَْ َ َيف َََ َين لْم ََ َع َل َ َأ ن َالَََْ لْم َع لْمَ ََ ع ََ : ان َع لْم َََي فَََالَْ لْق ْوجََََُخ ََ َوَ َََود ،م َالَْ َ يف َََ ع لْم لْق َ خ

disbelief, and claiming the knowledge which is inaccessible is
disbelief. Belief can only be firm
when accessible knowledge is
accepted and the inaccessible is not
sought after.
ْفقَُ َالََْ ارَُف إ نْك ََ ود ؛م لْم َ م ْوجود َالََْ ع ، َالََْاءَُاد ع َََ وَ َ ُكْفر لْم .ُكْفرَ ود َم ْفقَُالَْ َع
َل َََوَ ح ُ َََْاَي ص ل يَْا َق بَُب َ َاإ ل َ اُنَمَ إ َ ول لْم َ الع َوَ ََ الم ْوجود ، َ َ ََ َت ْرك َََ َ ل ب َط َ َ ََ لْم َََالع
.ود َم ْفقَُالَْ47. We believe in Al Lawh (the
Tablet) and Al Qalam (the Pen) and
in everything written on the former.
Even if all created beings were to
gather together to make something
fail to exist, whose existence Allah
had written on the Tablet, they would
not be able to do so. And if all created
beings were to gather together to
make something exist which Allah
had not written on it, they would not
be able to do so. The Pen has dried
having written down all that will be
in existence until the Day of
Judgement. Whatever a person has
missed he would have never got, and
whatever he gets he would have
never missed.
ُنَََوَ ،َالل َب ََََنُْؤم ،الَََْوَ ََْوح مَ َََق ل م َبـ ج ََامَ َََيع َيهَ فَ َق ْدَََ َ . َُرق م َاجَََْف ل وَ ََ م ع َت لُْقََ َََالْخ ََىُهْمَع ل َكُل َُ يْءٍََ َش َََ َك ت ب ُه َاللََُ َيهَ فَ ََ َََهَُأ ن َ َلَُك َ َل ي ْجع َغ يْرَ ََوهَُائ ن َل ْمَََائ ٍنَك َََ رَََُ َََواي ْقد
َ. ََع ل ْيه ف َق ل ُمَالَْ ََج َامَ ب َََ َََ َك َََُهو َََىإ ل ََََائ ن َ يَ الََََْي ْوم .َق َ ََاَمَ َََوَ ََام ة ـأ َالََْأ ْخط ْبد ََ ل ْمََََع ََََي ُكْنَ َََاَمَ َََوَ َََب ُه،يَْل ُيص ََََي ُكْنَََََل ْمََََاب ُهَأ ص

48. It is necessary for the servant to
know that Allah already knows
everything that is going to happen in
His creation and has decreed it in a
detailed and decisive way. There is
nothing that He has created in either
the heavens or the earth that can
contradict it, or add to it, or erase it,
or change it, or decrease it, or
increase it in any way. This is a
fundamental aspect of belief and a
ْبدَ الََََْىع ل َََوَ ََََأ ْنََََع َي ْعل م ََ َََق ْدََََاللَ َََأ ن َ ب ق َس َع لُْمهََُ َيف َََ َََ َكُل يْءٍََ َش َائ ٍنَك َ َ ْنَََ َََم ، ه لْق ََخ َََوَ ََ َق د َذَ ََر َََل ك َيَْب م ش ه َََايرًَت ْقدَ ََئ ت مًَََ اُمْحك مًَ ََََ،اُمبْر َن ََََيهَ فَ َََل ْيس ََاَل ََََوَ ََاق ض
َ، ق ب َيَُْمزَ ََاَل ََََوَ ََُمع ،ََََال ََََوَ ََل ـي ر ََوَ ََُمغ ،َ ََال َ ل و َََاَل َََوَ ََُمح ائ د َن ََََاَل ََََوَ َََز ْنََََاق ص ََََم

necessary element of all knowledge and recognition of Allah's oneness
and Lordship. As Allah says in His
Book: "He created everything and
decreed it in a detailed way." (al-
Furqan 25: 2) And He also says:
"Allah's command is always a
decided decree." (al-Ahzab 33: 38)
So woe to anyone who argues with
Allah concerning the decree and
who, with a sick heart, starts delving
into this matter. In his deluded
attempt to investigate the Unseen, he
is seeking a secret that can never be
uncovered, and he ends up an evil-
doer, telling nothing but lies.

َ ل ق يْءٍََََكُل َََخ َََََش هَُف ق د َََر يْرًََ َََال َق َََوَ ََات ْقد َََوَ ََ:ىال َت عَ رًََََاللَ َََأ ْمرََََُك ان ْقُدورًََََاق د ََام
. َ يْل ْنََََف و ََََل م َالََََْيف َََََاللَََُل ُهََََارَ ص ر ق د َ َا،مًَيَْخ ص رَ َََوَ َََ ََأ ْحض رَ ل لن َ ََ َ ظ َََاق لْبًََََيهَ فَ َقَ ََََل ق د ََََ،ايمًَس هَ ب ََََالْت م س ْهم َََيَف ََََو ََم ْحض
َ ر ًَََالْغ ْيب َََيهَ فَ َََق ال ََََامَ ب َََادَ ع َََوَ َََ،ايمًَك تَ ََاس ًَأ ف َ ََ.ايمًَأ ث ََََااك
49. Al-`Arsh (the Throne) and al-
Kursi (the Chair) are true. َْرُشَالَََََْو ي َُالَََََْوَ ََََع َََََُكْرس ق ح 50. He is independent of the Throne
and that which is beneath it. ز َ َََُهوَ ََوَ َََوَ َََع ل ََََُمْست ْغٍنََََج ن َالََََْع ْرش ََع ون ُه،دَََُاَمَ ََوَ
51. He encompasses all things and
that which is above it, and what He
has created is incapable of
encompassing Him.
َحَ مَُ َب ََََيط َكُل يْءٍَََ َش َوَ ََ َمَ ب ََ َا َف ْوق ُه،َ ََق ْدَََزَ ََََأ ْعج ن ََََْع ل حَ ا ةَ إ لْق هََََُاط .خ
