Hazrat Abu Bakr Shibli (ra) used to read verse 128

(Laa Qad Jaa akum Rasoulum …) of surah Tawbah

(9) after each swalaat, then he would read darood

shareef. In this way the prophet (s) took hold of him

and kissed him on the forehead.

Rasoulullaah (s) said that Rajab is the month of Allah,

Sha’baan is my month and Ramadwaan my Ummat’s

month.

Hazrat Abdul Qaadir Jilani (ra) said that Sha’baan

) means (ش) .has 5 letters (َشْعبَان) (ع) ,honour (َشْرفٌ

means (ُعلُو) elevation, (ب) means ( (ا) ,good deeds (بِرٌ

means (ٌ اُْلفَة) love and (ن) means ( light. Allah (نُْورٌ bestows all these upon the Muslims during Sha’baan.

Rasoulullaah (s) used to keep fast in Sha’baan as he

(s) wanted to present himself in front of Allah in such

state if he would die in that month.

Hazrat Ali (ra) said that the one who reads 3 times

surah Qadr before the swalaat of Jumu’ah, Allah will

give its thawaab to all those throughout the world who

perform jumu’ah swalaat.
