My Family
I love my family It’s like a dream
Coming into reality Like a live stream
We make a wonderful team
Eating peaches and ice cream I have a big brother to fight
And a small sister to play with my kites
My mom makes the best dishes And fulfills our wishes
My dad is a great physician who works like a magician
No matter what goes wrong
Our love will always be strong You folks constantly make me so glad
I will never forget the fun we had -AreejHashmiGradeVIIRed
Climbing a Mountain
Climbing a mountain till the top
When will it stop
Feeling the cold breeze
I feel like I could freeze
The snow till my knees
And there are no trees
Climbing a mountain till the top
When will it stop?
I’m feeling really cold
When will I reach the fold?

P encil’s story of service and
self-sacrifice.
Once upon a time there was a pencil
which had always lived for the sake of
others and allowed them to use its
body to be worn out in service of others. This pencil
is a dwarf today but once it had a tall and graceful
figure. Its parents lived in a forest. They were cruel-
ly uprooted from their native soil and were brought
in a factory. Here, they suffered untold hardships
and died as this new pencil was born. The pencil
had a number of companions each one like them-
selves. All pencils were given shiny coats of green,
blue and red and were decorated with gold and sil-
ver stars. They were packed in boxes-a dozen of
them tied together in a bundle and a dozen of such
bundles in a box. It was packed with 143 compan-
ions in a miserable little box.
When the pencil opened its eyes it found itself in a
glass show-case in the window of a big stationery
shop of Karachi. It was the first to be sold. Its master
kept it in a drawer of his writing table. Then one
day, his daughter came and picked it up saying to
her father, “My pencil is lost and I am carrying
yours to school”. It became the servant of my young
mistress. It began to enjoy life, now, as it could see a
lot of the world
around it. It used to go to school with its mistress and help
in her studies. She used it very gently and used the horrible
sharpener very rarely. In fact, she took very little work
from it. The pencil’s duty was only to mark important pas-
sages in her text-book. However, pencil’s happy-go-lucky
life came to an abrupt end. The young lady dropped it
while getting down from a bus. “Oh my! Thought the pen-
cil I am going to be crushed under the wheels of the bus”.
It was fortunate; It had fallen inside the bus. It was picked
up by the conductor. The conductor used it for noting
down the number of ticket he had sold at each stop. Pencil
was sharpened too often and soon became small. One day,
it slipped down from the pocket of my master and fell on
the road.
Pencil: “I am lying here helplessly and do not know what
the future holds for me.”

Winter
The time when it will snow,
The time when strong winds will
blow;
The time when everything around us
will be White
The time when it will not be so bright
When the chilly winds won’t go away,
Not everyone will come out and play;
We’ll see people around us wearing coats,
Most of them with sore throats;
Although in the snow sometimes people also play,
But no one wants winter to forever stay.

My Mother
I have the finest mother That any girl could have She cleans all my clothes
And binds my wounds up with salve
She fixes all my clothes And doesn’t mind at all
If I’ve torn my shirt Or outgrown it because I’m tall
She helps me with my lessons And takes the greatest pain
To be sure I understand them, And my interest doesn’t wane
She welcomes all my friends And permits us to use the loft Gives us popcorn and candy,
Till we’ve had enough
No, I wouldn’t trade my mother For all the jewels on earth
Cause there is no way to tell What an awful lot she’s worth.

I am a book. I am very useful to hu-mans because they read us to become smarter and for their vocabulary to expand. I was made in Beijing and then shipped to Muscat. I presume my broth-ers and sisters are already torn apart due to the lack of responsibility humans have for their properties.
People don’t use us books properly with care. They just take us for granted like we don’t matter. A girl bought me from an antique store for two dollars. She was a very creative girl with a flair for words. She wrote poems and lyr-ics on me. She was a very different girl but in the best way possible and I trusted her to be responsible with me. But one day, she took me into the living room with a cup of milk and wrote poems. She laid the liquid-filled cup on me. When she hit the cup and it fell on me, I knew I was ruined. She didn’t take care for me. I cared for her poems and kept it safe when all I wanted in return was her care. I feel bad for humans for not seeing how val-uable we really are.
So, if you buy a book, give it some value because we are very useful. We help people receive a master’s degree. Be responsible for your books. Give them value because even if we are not living things, we also have feelings. -By Charlize Vicencio Grade VII Red

A Tribute to my Teacher
You’ve been a teacher, That I truly admire.
In so many ways, You constantly inspire.
Taught me the importance Of a life filled with books.
And never judge one, By its cover or looks.
I’ve learned to apply,
The knowledge I read. The lessons you taught me,
Will help me succeed.
You’ve always been Thoughtful and nice
Willing to help, Through your personal advice.
You’re a wonderful teacher And you really stand out
You’re my favourite teacher Without any doubt.

MY SCHOOL I love my school
We do not have any frightening rule My teachers here are kind
But wrong doings they do not mind Subject and teaching styles, Are plen ful and vary. Just like the backpacks, We all need to carry. Sports, clubs and ac vi es, At every single turn. So much to do, Study and learn.
School is something We must all embrace
Studying in this school is not just a pleasure, It is truly a life’s treasure. By Tasleem Zahra Grade VII‐RED
