Needles: a set of 3.25mm (UK10:US3) double point needles. Purchased trims: optional Measurement: to fit a standard egg cup Tension: not particularly important from this project however if you are either a very tight or very loose knitter, adjust your needle size appropriately. Pattern notes: some patterns require experience knitting intarsia These hats are worked in the round on double point needles to eliminate seams. Remember when knitting in the round make sure stitches are not twisted when closing to a round. Some useful trims and embellishments To crochet a flower: with 1.75mm (UK1:USC) crochet hook make 6 chains. Slip stitch in first chain to make a circle. * Make 2 chain, 2 treble, 2 chain and a slip stitch into the circle * – this makes 1 petal. Repeat from * to * 4 times. This makes 5 petals. A Flower Trimmed Easter BonnetPattern note: when knitting in the round make sure stitches are not twisted when closing to a circle.

Materials: 12gms x ak Miro 100% pure Merino wool dk in assorted colours. 8 crochet flowers in coordinating colours.

Needles: a set of 3.25mm (UK10:US3) double-point needles.

With 3.25mm needles and chosen yarn colour cast on 40stsClose to a circle. Stocking stitch 8 rounds.

Top shaping:Round 9: *k8, k2tog, repeat from * to the end of the round (36sts)Round 10: knit.Round 11: *k7, k2tog, repeat from * to the end of the round (32sts). Round 12: knit.Round 13: *k6, k2tog, repeat from * to the end of the round (28sts). Round 14: knit.Round 15: *k5, k2tog, repeat from * to the end of the round (24sts). Round 16: knit.

Round 17: *k4, k2tog, repeat from * to the end of the round (20sts). Round 18: knit.Round 19: *k3, k2tog, repeat from * to the end of the round (16sts). Round 20: *k2tog, repeat from * to the end of the round (8sts). Fasten off.

Brim:With the right side facing, knit up 40sts along the cast on edge of the cozy.Round 1: knit.Round 2: *m1, k8, repeat from * to the end of the round (45sts). Round 3: knit.Round 4: *m1, k9, repeat from * to the end of the round (50sts). Round 5: knit.Round 6: purl.Round 7: knit.Round 8: purl.Cast off.

To Finish:Sew away any ends.Make a twisted cord out of green wool.Arrange the 5 flowers around the hat. Sew the green twisted thread in between the flowers to simulate leaves and tendrils.

A Tassel Trimmed Paper-bag Hat Materials: 8gms x ak traditions 100% pure Merino wool dk in MC (main colour), C1 (contrast colour 1), C2 (contrast colour 2).1 x crochet flower in C2.

Needles: a set of 3.25mm (UK10:US3) double point needles.

With C2 cast on 40sts.With MC moss stitch 2 rows.Row 3 &4: Stocking stitch.

Follow the graph below.

Stocking stitch 11 rows in MCCast off.

To make up:Sew the two sides together to make a tube.Fold the tube se the side seam becomes the CB seam. Sew the cast off edge together to make a bag. Make two tassels on either tip of the bag. Use C2. Sew the flower on the front of the bag just above the Fair Isle border.Sew away the ends.

A Peaked CapMaterials: 6gms x ak Miro100% pure Merino wool dk. Main colour (MC) and a contrast for the Swiss darning.

Needles: a set of 3.25mm (UK10:US3) double-point needles.

With MC cast on 40sts. Close to a circle. Round 1: 2x2 rib 12, k 16, 2x2 rib 12.Round 2: 2x2 rib 12, k 16, 2x2 rib 12.Stocking stitch 5 rounds.

Top shaping:Round 8: *k8, k2tog, repeat from * to the end of the round (36sts).Round 9: knit.Round 10: *k7, k2tog, repeat from * to the end of the round (32sts). Row 1: sl 1, knit to the end of the row.Row 2: sl 1, knit to the end of the row.Row 3: sl 1, k2tog, knit to the end of the row.Repeat row 3 until one stitch is left. Materials: Approximately 10gms x ak Miro 100% pure Merino wool dk in 2 colours.

With 3.25mm needles, cast on 40sts in Col A and close to a circle. Round 1 & 2: 1x1 rib.Round 3 & 4: knit in Col A.Round 5 & 6: knit in Col B.Round 7 & 8: knit in Col A.Round 9 &10: knit in Col B.Keeping the colour sequence correct, work the top shaping as follows:Round 11: *k8, k2tog, repeat from * to the end of the round (36sts).
