SUMNER ON A WARM APRIL SUNDAY
Noah checks out the place. Yes, all’s good to go.
Big strands of seaweed all over
the place. They look pretty
special.
The same applies for the
driftwood.
Impressive views one after another. I cannot believe the light an its changes.
More seaweed.
A view along the flood line
The sun is setting and the tide is coming in rapidly: time to go home.
SUMNER COLD APRIL DAY: DRIFTWOOD
Rocks Sumner
The beach to ourselves but bad weather crawling over the hills in the background.
Walking from the rocks over the beach, seeing some sort of structure further
down.
It turned out to be an amazing pile of driftwood.
Seaweed and tire tracks make for a special shot.
AKAROA
An early French settlement, and still
breathing that French atmosphere.
Always great for a straddle along the
water, a nice lunch or diner and
Akaroa Fudge which is like nothing
you ever had before. A great place to
go for a boat trip, swim with the
dolphins, cruise around the bay or for
a fishing trip.
Sitting down with some food under a
tree and just enjoy the view.
Seagulls are always around to pick up
a chip or actually to nick one if you are
not looking.
A view from the jetty
The back of the jetty where you depart for dolphin watching or a cruise through
the harbour, buy some Paua jewellery and pearls.
A view towards the lighthouse.
On the way from the car park to town and back.
With the sun going down the
light and colours would
change very quickly as can
be seen on the next two
pages.
Near the end of the day, the light
does amazing things, when the
sun is lowering behind the tops
of the hills.
This must have been one of the most spectacular I ever had there.
The clouds and lowering sun completely changed the light.
What a fantastic view to end the day.
