FUTURE TRENDMany of the world’s larger airports have become destinations in and of themselves. By increasing their non-aeronautical revenue streams through commercial development, airports are becoming significant employment, business, shopping, health, wellness and entertainment destinations.

THE ODEBRECHT TEAM PROPOSES TO MAKE MIA THE NEXT AIRPORT CITY.

Our visiona signature urban environMent providing enhanCed passenger eXperienCe with interModal ConneCtivity

Page 7: Airport City at MIA

Our visionMiami-Dade County has invested billions of dollars to create a transportation system within and surrounding MIA to support its future growth. Capitalizing on this investment, our comprehensive proposal will bring significant private investment, additional value, and long-term sustainability to MIA.

Our proposed array of business enterprises include world-class hotel accommodations, a multitude of shopping and dining options, conference and business meeting centers, Class A office space, and

entertainment and recreational amenities — all strategically integrated into MIA’s multimodal transit system.

Furthermore, incorporating “green” development, design and construction concepts will elevate MIA as a world leader in sustainable development, while optimizing the passenger experience and providing MIA the non-aeronautical revenues it desires.

transit oriented developMentA critical element of our proposal is the

integration of alternative transportation in

conjunction with efficient pedestrian movement

and access to public transit. Our platform is the

tremendous investment in the transportation

system within and surrounding MIA: Miami-Dade

Transit’s Metrorail extension, the MIA Mover, the

Miami Intermodal Center (MIC), and Central

Boulevard and Le Jeune Road improvements.

acces s ibility

Page 11: Airport City at MIA

acces s ibilityOur development concept integrates the MIA

Mover to provide access to the MIA Business Park

and Hospitality Center. Pedestrian movement will

be facilitated via Sky Bridge connectors between

the MIA Hospitality Center and the North Terminal

as well as through the integration of plazas,

landscape areas, and walking paths within the MIA

Business Park. Thoughtful planning and design of

circulation, along with integrated planning, allow

for the efficient flow of vehicular traffic.

building value for all stakeholdersThese values are both tangible and intangible. They can be expressed in dollar returns to the balance sheet, as well as the enhanced quality of life for the citizens and visitors of Miami-Dade County.
