    Part 1 Aviation Charges

    RUNWAY FEES

    Runway fees are assessed on the basis of the maximum total weight authorised of anaircraft, which means the maximum total weight of the aircraft and of its contents atwhich the aircraft may take off in the United Kingdom in the most favourablecircumstances, in accordance with the Certificate of Airworthiness for the time being inforce in respect of the aircraft. If the certificate indicates a maximum total weight atwhich aircraft may taxi, that weight shall be taken to be the maximum total weightauthorised.

    Runway Movement Fee Charge3.45 per half metric tonne or part thereof up to 3 tonnes, thereafter6.90 per tonne or part thereof.

    Navigational Service Charge2.65 per half metric tonne or part thereof up to 3 tonnes, thereafter5.30 per tonne or part thereof.

    No reduction in Runway Movement Fees or Navigational Service Charge will beallowable by reason of the unavailability or non use of any aerodrome services,assistance or other facilities.

    The Runway Movement Fee for helicopters will be equivalent to that for a fixed wingaircraft of the same maximum total weight authorised.

    Flights without landing but involving the use of ATC equipment Navaids or Lighting, willbe charged a fee equivalent to the appropriate Navigational Service Charge elementapplicable for each approach made.

    All landings or go-arounds will be subject to a 27.00 minimum charge per landing or go-around.

    Runway fees and navigational service charges will be levied upon departures from 1 st February 2012. Until and including 31 st January 2012 runway fees will be levied uponarrivals.

    REBATES

    DiversionsProviding there is no disembarkment of passengers or freight a rebate of 25% of therunway fees will be allowed.

    New Scheduled ServicesAn airline may be offered, at the discretion of the Company, a rebate of the basic runwayfee and navigational service charge and other charges.

    PRIVATE BASED OPERATORS AT THE AIRPORT

    18.00 per full stop landing and 9.00 per touch and go at all times for all aircraft up to 3tonnes.

    Touch and go operations will be at the discretion of Air Traffic Control and may not bepossible during the busiest periods.

    All other rebates for pleasure flights, training and test flights remain withdrawn.

    PASSENGER SERVICE CHARGES

    This is a charge on the Operator and will be included on the same invoice as theRunway Fees.

    Charge applying until and including 31 st January 2012:A Passenger Service Charge of 13.39 per ARRIVING passenger on aircraft fromdeparture points outside the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, the Channel Islandsand the Isle of Man.

    A Passenger Service Charge of 8.09 per ARRIVING passenger on aircraft fromdeparture points within the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, the Channel Islandsand the Isle of Man.

    Charge applying from 1 st February 2012:

    A Passenger Service Charge of 13.39 per DEPARTING passenger on aircraft fromdeparture points outside the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, the Channel Islandsand the Isle of Man.

    A Passenger Service Charge of 8.09 per DEPARTING passenger on aircraft fromdeparture points within the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, the Channel Islandsand the Isle of Man.

    Passengers are defined for this purpose as passengers of all descriptions except:

    i) persons on aircraft not operating for hire or reward.

    ii) children under 2 years of age.

    iii) persons employed or engaged in an aircraft in flight on the business of theaircraft.

    iv) persons carried in an aircraft which departs from the Airport and returns withoutlanding in any other place.

    v) persons who arrive at the Airport and subsequently depart in the same aircraftwithout meanwhile having left that aircraft.

    The passenger service charges shown above include an element of 0.28 per arrivingpassenger in respect of the provision of PRM (Passengers with Reduced Mobility)services.

    In the event of the diversion of a passenger flight into Newcastle Airport the PassengerService Charge will be charged on the number of arriving passengers. Wherepassengers are brought from another airport to depart on the diverted aircraft, there willbe no Passenger Service Charge applied to the departing passengers on the divertedaircraft.

    HOLD BAGGAGE SCREENING CHARGE

    39p per departing passenger (both domestic and international) will be charged inaccordance with Department for Transport regulations.

    TERMINAL EQUIPMENT CHARGE

    A charge of 10p per departing passenger is made to cover the cost of making availableelectronic terminal equipment such as CUTE, Boarding Pass Scanners etc.

    AIRBRIDGE CHARGE

    A charge of 29.50 per turnaround will be made for non-based operators and 19.50 for

    based operators.

    APRON AND FREIGHT HANDLING CHARGES

    Handling services are provided on the main apron by the three handling agentsoperating at the airport (Servisair, Swissport & Gate Aviation). Executive and privateaircraft handling is provided by Samson Aviation from the dedicated Executive terminalon the south side of the airport.

    DAILY PARKING FEES

    Charges for parking an aircraft for each period of 24 hours or part thereof:-

    First 2 hours FREE thereafter charge per 24 hours (including first 2) or part thereof:-

    PRIVATE BASED OPERATORS

    Monthly Housing and Parking Rates

    For private based operators a rebated parking charge of 130 per month will apply.

    When monthly terms for parking are arranged and it is found necessary to house theaircraft through bad weather conditions or for other reasons, the full daily charge forhousing for the days on which it is housed will be imposed without rebate from themonthly parking charges.

    In certain circumstances, the Chief Executive may allow another aircraft attracting anequal or lower fee to be substituted for an aircraft for which a monthly housing or parking

    fee has been paid.

    Charges for hangarage for each period of 24 hours or part thereof will be 20p per squaremetre of space occupied (length x span). The monthly charge is equivalent to 22 timesthe daily rate and no rebate will be given for the periodic absence of aircraft subject tothis agreement.

    NOTES

    1. The expression "Operator" in relation to an aircraft means the person for the time

    being having the management of the aircraft.

    2. Unless an alternative arrangement has been made, all charges set out in thisschedule are payable by, or on behalf of, the operator of the aircraft on demandor before the aircraft departs from the Airport.

    3. Operators who have not previously entered into credit arrangements with theCompany and wish to be afforded this facility should make application in writingto the Company's Chief Executive ("the Chief Executive") in advance.

    4. Any facility for the payment of any charges may be withdrawn by the Company atany time without prior notice where in the opinion of the Chief Executive there is

    a reasonable prospect that such charges will not be paid within the periodafforded by such facility. The Chief Executive will as soon as possible after suchwithdrawal notify the Operator accordingly.

    5. The Chief Executive, may at his discretion, dispense wholly or in part with anycharges payable under this schedule, if he is satisfied that it is in the interest ofthe Company to do so in the particular case.

    MINIMUM CHARGE

    A minimum charge of 30.00 will apply to any invoiced charge, for which it is necessaryto render an invoice in respect of any of the above services.

    VALUE ADDED TAX

    Where applicable, VAT at the standard rate, will be applied in accordance withappropriate UK Customs and Excise legislation.

    INTEREST ON OVERDUE ACCOUNTS

    The Company shall be entitled to charge interest on any charges payable pursuant tothe terms hereof, which have not been paid in accordance with any written arrangementfor payment made between the Company and the operator, or, in the absence of sucharrangement, within the time for payment of such charges stipulated on the invoicerendered by or on behalf of the Company for such charges. Interest will be calculated ona daily basis from the date upon which the charges became due for payment, until thedate of receipt of payment (both dates inclusive) at the base rate of the Company'sBankers for the time being prevailing plus 3%.

    AIRSIDE DRIVING

    There is a mandatory requirement to pass an Airside Driving Exam before being allowedto drive airside and receive an Airside Driving Permit (ADP). The main provider of thistraining is the Airport Fire Service. There are various courses depending upon whetherstaff need to drive on the apron or the wider maneuvering area that covers the runwayand taxiways. If staff are required to drive in these areas then additional training isrequired including Radio Telephony (RT). The costs of these courses are:

    Newcastle International Airport encourages pre-application discussions on wind farmdevelopment, however in order that we can provide a service to a consistent and highstandard, NIAL must charge for providing this service.

    Benefits of pre-application adviceObtaining pre-application advice prior to submitting a planning application has thebenefit of affording the developer the opportunity to modify proposals to ensure asmoother and quicker passage through the planning system which may in turn lead to areduction time spent by professional advisors working up a proposal.

    The pre-application advice system will take the form of a development team approach inwhich all of Newcastle Internationals technical specialists will offer advice whererequired.

    The service you will receiveOn receipt of your enquiry along with the appropriate fee, the proposal will be assessedby the various specialists within our team. You will receive a written response to yourproposal within 21 days which will set out the issues relating to your proposal.
