First Raids Began September 1940

This here was some wreckage from around the neighborhood, this also showed the air raid shelter

It started in September with the bombing of the Palace Theater down on Oxford Street. Although not to many people where hurt, it was my first taste of action and much more action was to come

Manchester Blitz/ Christmas Blitz It stated on the 22nd and continued on to

Christmas eve. These were the heaviest bombings. It was estimated that 680 were dead and over 2,000 injured. Luckily I wasn’t hurt but seeing the people who where felt like it hurt almost as much. I had always hated coming out of the shelter after the raid was over. I was found myself asking why this happened but I never figured that out.

Some more damage from the neighborhood as I am showed alongside my fellow wardens

Documents

This is a bombing report from the raid on St. Andrews and I would have to make such documents as well

This was a causality tag that was used whenever we found dead and we used this to mark the body
