The Company Air Products is a leading international supplier of various types of
gases, performance materials, equipment and services for the
industrial, energy, technology and healthcare industries. The
company, headquartered in Trexlertown, PA, is the largest supplier of
hydrogen and helium worldwide. They are recognized for their
innovative culture, operational excellence and commitment to safety
and the environment.
The Challenge Air Products contacted SmartWatt Energy to conduct a full-building
audit of all lighting systems throughout their facility located in
Wilkes-Barre, PA for potential energy-savings upgrades. The
company’s goals were to dramatically improve the quality and
quantity of light for employees, save money on energy costs, and
reduce their environmental impact.
Smart SavingsIn addition to improved conditions, Air Products will enjoy the
following realized energy savings from this lighting upgrade project:
• Annual Energy Savings: $75,107
• Annual Displaced Energy: 751,067 kWh
• Utility Incentive: $68,012
EPAct 2005 Tax Deduction: $286,584
Green Impact This project has led to the equivalent reduction of 1,126,601 pounds
of carbon dioxide, removing pollutants from the air and having the
same effect on the environment as:
