I-Situation Air pollution is a global issue which human beings are facing with. It becomes more and more serious, especially in developed countries It threatens to not only living environment but also humans’ health

Page 4: air pollution

Level of CO2 has been increasing markedly in recent years.

In some big cities in Viet nam level of dust and smoke in the air has been rising alarmingly each year.

II-Causes

1.Manufacturing 2.Natural process 3.Old means of transport

Page 6: air pollution

1.The main cause of air pollution is manufacturing. This source of pollution spews particulate matter and chemicals into the atmosphere. Factories realese exhaust into the environment, including: sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide and dioxide, etc...The burning of fossil fuels is an aspect of manufacturing that extracts poisonous components to the air.

2.The second reason is natural process. The Earth itself contributes to air pollution through volcanic eruptions, wildfires, and other natural process, but it is capable of recovering from those sources.

3.Smoking and dust from second-hand or old means of transports pollute the atmosphere of big cities.

III-Effects

Air pollution has huge effects on both environment and hunman beings: It results in global warming: ice-melting, greenhouse effect, depletion of ozone layer. Because of toxic air, people can get dangerous diseases, such as: cough, lung cancer, depression, etc... The extinction of plants and animals can occur on the Earth.

III-Solutions

People may try to restrict population growth, use less energy, improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, and move to non-polluting renewable forms of energy production.  Also, automobile-produced pollution can be decreased with highly beneficial results. Output control, the opposite method, seeks to fix the problems caused by air pollution.  This usually means cleaning up an area that has been damaged by pollution. Input controls are usually more effective than output controls.  Output controls are also more expensive, making them less desirable to tax payers and polluting industries.
