The Junior Academy is for students in Year 7, 8 and 9 and there are four Senior Academies for students in Years 10 to 12. How does the Senior Academy Program work for you? Every student and their pathway through school and beyond are important to us at Elanora State High School. Numerous programs are in place to support you to make informed decisions about your career pathway to ensure that your learning leads into University, Employment or Further Training. The Senior Academies are designed to provide a wide variety of choices which allow you to experience learning in the ‘real world’ setting that you will enter when you leave Elanora State High School. We have established strong partnerships with local Universities, TAFE Colleges, Registered Training Organisations and local businesses to provide you with opportunities to begin your career pathway while enrolled at school. Included in our offerings are the Griffith Guest / Connect programs, Southern Cross Head-Start / Star programs and the Bond Semester program. What do the four Senior Academies offer? Business and Industry – enrol with a Griffith, Bond or Southern Cross University course or seek industry and business experience for vocational qualifications and employment Science and Engineering – study GriffBiol, GriffChem and GriffEng at school and achieve direct entry to Griffith University Science courses or study at TAFE or with an RTO to complete Certificate courses Culture and The Arts – prepare for post school cultural opportunities through the development of portfolios and field experiences or study the Guest or Semester University programs Sport, Health and Fitness – study GriffEx at school and achieve direct entry to Griffith University to study a wide variety of degrees. Our Academy Program will continue to grow as career opportunities become available.
