INSTALLATION

Customer Information: The information in thisinstallation instruction is intended for use only byskilled technicians who have the proper tools,equipment, and training to correctly and safely addequipment to your vehicle. These proceduresshould not be attempted by “do-it-yourselfers.”

1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for theradio, then write down the frequencies for thepreset buttons.

2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

3. Remove the cap from the right sun visor (fourretaining tabs).

5. Remove two caps from the right front grab rail andremove the grab rail (two screws).

7. Remove the door weatherstrip from the openingedge of the right front door in the area shown,then remove the right front pillar trim (one clip).

8. Lower the glove box by removing the right and leftstops.

6. Pull away the door weatherstrip from around theright front pillar trim. Using a small rubber mallet,and a shop towel, gently tap the right quarterpillar trim at the area marked “SIDE CURTAINAIRBAG” to release the clip.

12. Remove the audio unit (four screws), pull the audiounit out toward you, unplug the vehicle connectorsand vehicle antenna connector.

9. Remove the meter panel (two self-tapping screwsand two clips).

11. Gently pull out on the left side of the audio panelto release the two clips, then pull out to releasethe remaining three clips. Unplug the vehicleconnectors and remove the audio panel.

• Remove the driver’s and passenger’s centerconsole trim pieces (three clips each). Takecare not to damage the clips.

• Remove four self-tapping screws that fasten thecenter panel.

• Pull the center panel out toward you to releasethe two clips. Unplug the vehicle connectorfrom the accessory socket, and remove thecenter panel.

• Remove four screws that fasten the left andright vehicle brackets. Pull the heater controlunit and pocket out toward you, and unplug thevehicle connectors.

13. Remove the driver’s seat front cover from thedriver’s seat (four clips).

17. Using isopropyl alcohol, clean the windshieldwhere the antenna will attach. Remove theadhesive backings from the antenna and attachthe antenna to the front window at the locationshown. Install the antenna by applying sufficientpressure.

14. Remove the driver’s seat rear cover from thedriver’s seat. Take care not to damage the clips.

15. Remove the four bolts that secure the driver’s seatside rails to the floor.

16. Remove the driver’s center console lower cover(seven clips). Take care not to damage the clips.

19. Route the antenna harness through the glove boxopening and route it along the vehicle harness.Secure the antenna harness to the vehicleharness with four wire ties.

20. Route the antenna harness to the audio unitopening and secure it to the vehicle harness withone wire tie.

18. Route the antenna harness along the right frontpillar and through the right front pillar trimopening. Secure the antenna harness to thevehicle harness with five wire ties.

21. Continue routing the antenna harness and one endof the BUS cable through the radio opening anddown along the vehicle harness. Align the otherend of the BUS cable with the vehicle 20-pinconnector. Then secure the antenna harness andBUS cable to the vehicle harness with one wiretie.

22. Route the antenna harness and BUS cable alongthe vehicle harness toward the floor, of the lowercenter console, and pull them out from under thedriver’s center console lower cover.

23. Secure the antenna harness and BUS cable to thevehicle harness and to the vehicle frame with twowire ties.

• Bundle the BUS cable with one wire tie asshown.

• Route the antenna harness along the vehicleframe .

• Pull the BUS cable out 100 mm from thevehicle wire tie through the heater control unitopening.

• Secure the BUS cable to the vehicle harnessusing one wire tie.

27. Measure and slit the driver’s floor carpet areashown. Route the antenna harness and BUS cableunder the floor carpet and out through the slit.Take care not damage to the antenna harness andBUS cable when cutting the floor mat.

26. Using isopropyl alcohol on a shop towel, clean thevehicle frame where the cushion tapes will attach.Cut a cushion tape in half and attach the twohalves of the cushion tape to the vehicle framecleaned with isopropyl alcohol.

25. Reinstall the audio unit with four screws (youremoved).

24. Plug the BUS cable 14-pin connector, vehicleconnectors and vehicle antenna connector intothe audio unit, then carefully slide the audio unitinto the audio unit opening.

28. Attach the tuner brackets to the XM tuner with four5 x 8 mm washer screws.

29. Using isopropyl alcohol, clean the area where thecushion tape will attach. Attach the cushion tapeto the tuner bracket at the location shown.

30. Install the tuner bracket to the driver’s seat railswith the four 6 x 12 mm flange bolts. Tighten thebolts securely.

31. Plug the BUS cable 14-pin connector into the XMtuner 14-pin connector.

32. Plug the antenna connector into the XM tunerantenna connector.

33. Secure the BUS cable and the antenna harness tothe tuner bracket with one wire tie with clip.

34. Secure the BUS cable and the antenna harnesswith one tie wire.

41. To install the pillar clip, position it at right anglesto the right front pillar and install by lightlypushing on the area marked with “SIDECURTAIN AIRBAG” on the right front pillar trim.Check that the pillar clip is not interfering with theairbag. Take care not to push the right front pillartrim excessively.

42. Reinstall all removed parts.

43. Reconnect the negative cable to the battery.

44. Enter the customer’s radio anti-theft code, andreset the radio station presets.

45. Reset the clock.

NOTE: Whenever the battery is disconnected, thedriver’s AUTO function is disabled.

46. Start the engine. Push down on the driver’swindow switch until the window is fully open.

47. Pull up on the driver’s window switch to close thewindow completely, then hold the switch for asecond or 2 more.

48. Test the AUTO window function.

35. Bundle the excess of the antenna harness.Secure the antenna harness to the vehicle’sharness using two wire ties.

36. Bundle the excess of the BUS cable. Secure theBUS cable and the antenna harness to thevehicle’s harness.

37. Check that all wire harnesses are routed properlyand all connectors are plugged in.

38. Reinstall the driver’s center console lower cover.

39. Reinstall the driver’s seat. Take care not to pinchthe any wires. Torque the seat bolts to 47 N·m(35 lb·ft).

40. Remove the clip from the top of the right frontpillar trim, and install a new pillar clip.
