STATE CONFERENCE An AIESEC conference plays an essential role in the development of members within AIESEC. Conferences provide in-depth knowledge of AIESEC, its visions and goals. Members who attend conference are motivated and have a clear understanding of the AIESEC culture. The positive effect of the conference can be seen in the enthusiasm and dedication of the delegates throughout the rest of their term in AIESEC. What we aim to achieve from these conferences: - Youth empowerment and development
globally and locally for AIESEC members and youth leaders who will interact with the national AIESEC network.
- Increased global and cultural sensitivity of the world through different delegate nationalities
- Output from business communities globally and locally
- Different perspectives on world issues that affect our future
- Clear long term and short term goals for the rest of the AIESEC year and beyond
EXPLORING OPPORTUNITIES Our members have the opportunity to develop their business and soft skills through taking part in the professional development program offered at the universities. Their ongoing time and dedication to a particular professional area within AIESEC allows them to expand their horizons, reach their goals and work in a professional environment to develop news skills that will help them achieve their career potentials. In order for AIESEC to be successful we aim to ensure that all members within the organisation have a clear understanding of what our organisation can do for them as well as the goals and vision of AIESEC in the coming years. In order to ensure this understanding we facilitate a number of annual conferences, networking events and encourage members to take on leadership opportunities both within AIESEC and externally.
YOUTH TO BUSINESS The Youth to Business networking program connects leaders of youth organisations with each other. This is a one day leadership and business development seminar aimed at providing and assisting Australia’s young leaders and business people with skills, networks and mindset to work cohesively. An on-site and virtual space allows attendees to create and engage with the central themes of ‘global connectivity’ allowing for the development of initiatives in two main areas; entrepreneurship and innovation. Through discussions, debates and workshops the participants have an opportunity to develop critical thinking and professional skills in both areas. The networking opportunities provide the chance for members to expand their personal and professional networks.

AIESEC conferences are amazing and they have opened my eyes to a lot of opportunities surrounding me and it has fully encouraged me to become more than just a student with a degree but a youth ambassador for an international organisation. I consider AIESEC as one of my strongest competitive edge against many other individuals battling for a position within the industry I would like to be in.
- Althea Galvez, Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Marketing), Director of Human Resources for AIESEC Adelaide
Being a part of AIESEC, I was able to not only develop myself as an individual but also be a part of the development of many other peers for the same cause and motivations. AIESEC is among one of those special organisations that has blessed me with the opportunity to apply my knowledge, passion and vision in an environment that allows for the nurture and growth of its participants. While many people may recount that AIESEC takes up a lot of your personal time and requires a lot of sacrifice; I would like to disagree. This is simply because the output that I have received from being part of AIESEC has far outweighed anything that I would even consider a sacrifice; because at the end of the day a sacrifice is something that you have to give up, but being someone who has received so much out of this experience, I would find it hard to identify what I had indeed given up at the end of that day.
-‐ Tam Nguyen Bachelor of Commerce majoring in International Business and Marketing, Local Committee President of AIESEC Adelaide
The Professional development opportunities I’ve gained through AIESEC have put me well on the way to a future career. The Youth to Business event run by AIESEC earlier this year offered networking options that would not have been available through other channels.
- Jamie Wishart Bachelor of Commerce (accounting/ Finance), Finance members in AIESEC Flinders
As an entrepreneur of a start up AIESEC has given me the knowledge I need to get my business up and running and is providing me with the support and experience and skills to keep my business successful. It has also helped me build skills that are relevant to employers and has helped me get jobs in industries I love. I love what I do and I love a lot about AIESEC.
- Alice James Bachelor of Media, Marketing and Communications member at AIESEC Flinders

AIESEC made me more self-‐aware and gave me the opportunity to meet new people whilst helping me develop my communication skills.
-‐ Karl Bachelor of Languages, Alumni Flinders University
Being on the organising committee for ‘Radcon’ (national conference 2013) was an amazing opportunity. During University it isn’t often you get the chance to gain some practical experience in running a project, nor do you get the opportunity to see a final result or outcome outside of a grade written on a piece of paper. Organising a conference is the perfect opportunity to gain some practical professional experience in many different areas, from sales to event management to human resources, to finance as well as the opportunity to develop your professional skills and working in a team for a long term project.
-‐ Chris Carrick Bachelor of Commerce, Chief Finance Officer for National Conference, Director of International Relations at AIESEC Flinders
An AIESEC conference has helped me to gain experience and a different point of view on things exclusive to Flinders University, reminding me that being in a large organisation means there is someone else going through a similar situation to you. Within my roles in AIESEC I’ve learnt practical skills and on the job training that I wouldn’t have through a textbook or lecture. These skills learnt have helped me to advance in my roles outside of AIESEC due to basic values of Business principals being taught and practised on a daily basis.
-‐ Charne Hamman Bachelor of Business: International Business, Director of Marketing and Communications at Flinders University
AIESEC has always been like a new door, full of hidden but exciting opportunities, leading me to discover some amazing things about myself! Australia was supposed to be a university exchange, but turned out be my AIESEC experience as well! Being the TM Responsible, was a slight shocker at first, but yes I'm a very peoples person and I loved every moment of it. And also I had my very first International Vice President term as well working with a bunch of insanely crazy but life changing individuals, I had one of my best times at Flinders, making friends for a lifetime!
-‐ Aarushi Jain' Bachelors in Biotechnology, Manipal University, India, Human Resources Responsible at AIESEC Flinders in 2012

THANK YOU! On Behalf of AIESEC South Australia and all its members we would like to thank you for your time in reading this proposal. AIESEC South Australia would not be what it is today without the support of the community. All of our sponsors are important to us as their ongoing commitment allows members to develop their leadership potential and gain the most out of the professional development program. We look forward to the Remainder of 2013 as we hope to bring the existing culture within AIESEC to as many Students in South Australia as possible.
