AIESEC in Colombia | Executive Smmary Global Leadership Awards 2015 In 2009 AIESEC in Colombia was not an entity the size of what it’s now, not by far. Not in the global ranking, not in Colombia as a country and not to its members as well. What completely changed is that in 2010 towards 2011, a critical decision was taken: to build a roadmap for entity until 2015 with clear goals and objectives. For Colombia as a country, the growth of AIESEC within the country means something that we very deeply believe “to prosper in good times and favorable circumstances is ordinary; to decrease and withdraw in hard times is also ordinary. But to grow, to thrive and flourish and collaborate in difficult circumstances, that’s is extraordinary, that is excellence”. From the year 2010 to 2011 we grew overall in exchanges by 75% and even though from 2011 to 2012 to 2013 to 2014 we grew less in terms of relative numbers, our absolute growth in volume has actually increased - from 453 (2010-2011) to 651 (2011-2012) to 656 (2012-2013). One extremely important fact for AIESEC in Colombia as an entity is the focus on quality of our exchanges which we never lose track and here we can proudly say the our NPS score for 2014 are for both GIPs 44 and 45 for oGCDP, proudly saying that we haven’t lost our orientation towards the final outcome of our work: providing leadership experiences. From the path taken in 2010 to commit towards a more relevant , a more passionate and a more impactful AIESEC in Colombia until the present moment, the entity has seen many different styles of leadership, each one of them relevant towards the moment of time the entity was according the roadmap. For our current generation, that of 2014-2015 we took the decision and the stand to “United in actions, Fulfilling our promise”. Why? Because this is the last sprint towards a vision that has shaped AIESEC in Colombia for the last 5 years, that is owning a promise we took to the country and to the world, to transform ourselves so that we can transform things around us, to make each year, each month, each experience so amazing that in the end only one thing can be said about us: The dream of making the world a better place is possible. With the right behaviors, the right direction, a strong management and placing value on the most important resource: people. All this in a country which nobody gave a chance to, where nobody would say 15 years ago “I would love to go there”, a place that people were fearing. For AIESEC in Colombia, the road to 2015 can be simply put as mentioned above: “To achieve success in favorable conditions is ordinary. To achieve success in unfavorable conditions, that is exceptional and it’s this which will make the world a better place”.
