As a solution to this problem, Applied Information has developed the AI-500-030 LPM series, which utilizes the latest technology in energy consumption, and low power cellular communications. The monitoring device can be installed into existing RRFBs to monitor the health of the solar panels, batteries, and other connected devices. The LPM uses less than 60 microamps, which means it can be installed into the smallest solar panels on the market. Once installed, the AI-500-030 LPM offers cellular connectivity, data collection, and access to Applied Information’s Glance platform. Glance, a cloud-based solution, allows for 24/7 remote monitoring of solar panel, beacon, and battery health. System operation and reliability can be observed in real-time or through automatically generated reports. Additionally, as soon as a problem is detected in the field, email/text alerts are sent to notify the necessary personnel of the exact fault. Equipped with a self-calibrating knockdown detection device, the AI-500-030 is able to detect when a pole has been knocked down. Glance registers this event within 30 seconds, and will send an email/text alert.
