AHC-IS NEWSLETTER November 2015 News & Information from the Academic Health Center Office of Information Systems Data Center Outage January 9th, 2016 All systems will be down on the Twin Cities Campus The University's annual maintenance outage will begin Friday night, January 8th with non-critical IT systems on the Twin Cities campus. On Saturday, January 9th it will affect all systems, click here for detailed list of IT systems. Cloud hosted systems such as University Gmail will not be affected. Actively Testing Windows 10 Microsoft recently released its newest version of the Windows operating system, Windows 10. AHC-IS is actively testing Windows 10 to ensure compatibility between University and UMN Health applications. AHC-IS hopes to begin supporting the new operating system in early 2016. Initially AHC-IS will be focusing only on devices specifically designed for Windows 10 (i.e.,touchscreen or tablet devices). El Capitan - Mac OS 10.11 In September 2015, Apple released the newest version of OS X, El Capitan. Identify proctices often used that do not aid inmemory development or retention.Illustrate what it takes to acquire new memories -and what factors compete with our learners brainresources.Discuss key strategies for maximizing memory andretention of new material.Design a sample approach applying at least twostrategies to promote retention.
