From Our Messianic Leader…..
DISCERNMENT
How many times have
you prayed for patience? In today’s
world, impatience is a pretty common
trait. We want food, help and infor-
mation “Right Now.” We have a
fast food mentality. Waiting for our
computers to turn on or the next
available agent on the phone, to an-
swer your call when you’re on hold
can really cause frustration. But our
heavenly Father focuses on steady
work. I feel, He is more interested in
the quality of the process than the
speedy outcome.
Nowhere is this clearer than in the
area of spiritual judgment. When we
become Believers, we don’t become
instantly wise and knowledgeable on
spiritual things. Our learning begins at
our salvation and continues for the
rest of our life.
However, some Believers still don’t
seem to grow up at all. They grow
older, but their understanding of
God’s Word never goes very deep.
This lack of spiritual wisdom results
from ignorance of the Scriptures, lazi-
ness and contentment about matters
of faith and failure to apply biblical
truths. Discernment and judgement
require time and effort. You cannot
simply go through life selfishly and un-
caringly and reacting to situations, but
yet never learning from them.
We should all take the time to reflect
on our responses and observe the
consequences of our actions and
choices. If we feel convicted by what
we notice, let that motivate us to
begin a lifelong pursuit of the Lord
and His way. If we aren’t doing it
now, we need to start reading the
Bible on a regular basis. And as we do, let us ask our heavenly Father /
Elohim to open our hearts and
minds to understand what He is say-
ing. Ask the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy
Spirit) for discernment.
Remember just reading His Word isn’t enough. Without applying what
we’ve read, all that we’ll have going is
head knowledge. Obedience trains us
to discern good and evil. Through
practice, and commitment, we’ll learn
wisdom and develop spiritual maturi-
ty. With Adonai’s grace and perse-
verance the ability to discern will
come.

UPCOMING EVENTS
Come Join Ahava B’Shem Yeshua for a special time of praise and worship
with Sally Klein O’Connor!
When: Shabbat, June 8th, 2019 Time: 10:30 am—12:30 pm Location: Alliance Bible Church, 2601 Iron Springs Road, Prescott, AZ 86305
It is our desire to present how God has touched our lives in the hope of reaching others, with His Love, through our songs and testimonies. It is also our hope to be an encouragement to the Body of Believers (Hebrews 3:12-13) as well as a light to the lost (John 3:16).
We believe the Lord is using our songs and stories to bring healing to the hearts of many. We also see a stronger aspect of evangelism, which we did not originally envision, making itself ap-parent. It is our desire to remain accessible to the non-believers and seekers that they may be able to hear about God’s love in a unique and personal way.

We will be taking up a Love Offering following the time of Worship.

Davidic Dance Ministry
Beginning dance steps are offered after Oneg on the first and second Sabbaths of the
month at 1:15 for 30 minutes. The Shabbat Medley dance will be taught during this time.
All who learn it can then participate in the Shabbat Medley dance to bring in the Sabbath
Service.
Is. 52:7 "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the messenger of good tidings, that announc-
es peace and announces salvation, that says unto Zion: "Your Elohim reigns!" Davidic Dance at Ahava is worshiping Adonai with sacred reverence to Him. Therefore, there must be
order and understanding when we worship through dance. Seasoned worship dancers may join the Da-
vidic Dance circle after speaking to Daniele and Julia, our dance leaders, and demonstrating basic core
steps. Appropriate dance attire is skirts and dresses below the knee, and tops should be covered shoul-
ders, no tank tops or camisoles.... nothing see through. Our focus is to please Elohim and not man. The Hora Dance is for everyone and we encourage all to participate and celebrate in this dance. The
dance for “He Shall Reign” is for everyone as well! Thank you for your understanding and we ask that you pray that Elohim be exalted through the dance
ministry as it is a powerful weapon against the enemy.
Beginning May 25th there will be a summer break for the dance leaders until August
3rd.
Contact the Office at Ahava B’Shem Yeshua (928.443.5988) if you have any ques-
tions.
Ahava Children’s Ministry The sign up sheet for May is back in the classroom/nursery area on the wall. We are encouraging par-
ents of those who utilize this ministry to consider volunteering to assist once a month, or every 6
weeks. Teachers and helpers can sign themselves up for dates that work for them. It will cover 2
months at a time. Teachers will be planning their own lessons, and helpers as usual will assist the teach-
er. In the storage room in the back of the sanctuary, there is a curriculum box for books and lessons,
or you can use resources that you have. More teachers are needed. There should be a minimum of
one adult in the back (18 or over) but preferably 2 adults should sign up at a time. Please talk to Dee
Rodriguez if you would like to serve as a teacher for the first time, or if you would be willing to serve as
the new Shabbat School leader.
For those who sign up for Shabbat School, on the Sabbath you are in the classroom, please let
the people serving in the sound booth know and they can make you a copy of the message.

MESSIANIC 101 SHAVUOT
(Feast of Weeks, Pentecost)
Sivan 6, 5779—Sunday, June 9, 2019
Leviticus 23:1-2 Then Adonai spoke to Moses saying “Speak to Bnei-Yisrael, and tell them: These are
the appointed moadim of Adonai, which you are to proclaim to be holy convocations— My moadim
(TLV).
Leviticus 23:15-16 Then you are to count from the morning after the Shabbat, from the day that you
brought the omer of the wave offering, seven complete Shabbatot. Until the morrow after the sev-
enth Shabbat you are to count fifty days, and then present a new grain offering to Adonai (TLV).
Seven weeks after Pesach, is the Festival of Weeks, or Shavuot. The Festival of
Weeks, is the second of the three major festivals with both historical and agricul-
tural significance (the other two are Passover and Sukkot). Agriculturally, it com-
memorates the time when the first fruits were harvested and brought to the
Temple and is known as Hag ha-Bikkurim (the Festival of the First Fruits). Histor-
ically, it celebrates the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai, and is also known as Hag Matan Torateinu (the Festival of the Giving of Our Torah).
The readings for Shavuot are:
• Exodus 19:1-20:23 The giving of the Torah
• Deuteronomy 15:19-16:17 Laws of Firstborn, Laws of Pesach, Counting the Omer, Pilgrimages
• Numbers 28:26-31 The offering for Shavuot
• Ezekiel 1:1-28, 3:12 Ezekiel’s vision of Divine Glory
• Habakkuk 2:20-3:19 Heavenly Vision seen by Habakkuk
• Book of Ruth
• Acts 2:1-13
Some traditional ways of commemorating this joyous occasion, is an all night studying of the Torah on Erev
Shavuot and the eating of rich dairy foods. The eating of the dairy foods symbolizes the nourishment of To-
rah. For Messianic Believers, we commemorate the giving of the Ruach ha’Kodesh (Holy Spirit). The talmi-
dim (disciples) of Yeshua where gathered together to celebrate the High Holy Day of Shavuot, when the
Ruach ha’Kodesh filled the whole house! What a beautiful time that shows the connection between the To-
rah and the Brit Hadashah!
Acts 2:1-4 When the day of Shavuot had come, they were all together in one place. Suddenly there came
from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And
tongues like fire spreading out appeared to them and settled on each one of them. They were all filled with
the Ruach ha’Kodesh and began to speak in tongues as the Ruach enabled them to speak out (TLV).
