What is it?

Agritourism involves any agriculturally-based activity that brings visitors to a farm or ranch and that includes a wide variety of activities like picking fruit, feeding animals, or staying on a farm, etc.

For many farmers agritourism is the additional source of income and way of promotion.

Potential Benefits to add value to farm products through right marketing strategy

Governmental support for agritourism

All European Community (EC) countries have government organizations that promote agritourism and often provide financial support and incentives to participating farmers.

Conclusion Farms and tourism - this combination

become more popular around the world and especially across the US.

Agritourism-oriented farms can serve an important function: help to educate people about the critical roles that farms and farmers play in our society.
