Agriculture or farming can be looked at as a system. The important input are seeds, fertilizers, machinery and labour. Some of the operations involved are ploughing, sowing, irrigation and harvesting. The outputs from the system include crops, wool, diary and poultry products.

Primitive subsistence farming
• This is practiced in small plot of land.
• It depends upon monsoon and climatic conditions.
• It is slash and burn agriculture.
• Land productive is low because farmers don’t use fertilizers and other modern equipments.
Intensive subsistence farming
• Uses big patches of land.
• Uses all modern technology.
• Production is used to sell in markets.
• Labours are hired.
Commercial farming
• Mixed crop and livestock farming.
• Diary farming.
• Grain farming.
• Uses of modern agriculture methods.
MODERN AGRICULTURE•Use of agricultural equipments. Like: Combine.
•Using modern methods. Like: Hydroponics.Aeroponics etc...
•Use of chemical pesticides and hybrid seeds.
HYDROPONICS
• Cultivation of plants in water.
• It is for growing plants without soil. Utilizing this technology, the roots absorb balanced nutrient dissolved in water that meets all the plants devlopmental requiremants.
• Also called called as “ the cultivation without using soil. “
Aeroponics
• The process of growing plants in air and mist environment without any use of soil.
• Grows plants from seeds or cutting.
• Aeroponics is better than hydroponics.
